And this have I done, and commanded my people what they should do after I was gone; and that these plates should be handed down from one generation to another, or from one prophet to another, until further commandments of the Lord.</p>

And now, if I do err, even did they err of old; not that I would excuse myself because of other men, but because of the <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/19?lang=eng weakness] which is in me, according to the flesh, I would excuse myself.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>11</span> For thus spake the prophet: The Lord God surely shall <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/19?lang=eng visit] all the house of Israel at that day, some with his <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/19?lang=eng voice], because of their righteousness, unto their great joy and salvation, and others with the <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/19?lang=eng thunderings] and the lightnings of his power, by tempest, by fire, and by <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/19?lang=eng smoke], and <sup class='englishSup'>e</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/19?lang=eng vapor] of <sup class='englishSup'>f</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/19?lang=eng darkness], and by the opening of the <sup class='englishSup'>g</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/19?lang=eng earth], and by <sup class='englishSup'>h</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/19?lang=eng mountains] which shall be carried up.</p>

And the <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/19?lang=eng rocks] of the earth must rend; and because of the<sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/19?lang=eng groanings] of the earth, many of the kings of the isles of the sea shall be wrought upon by the Spirit of God, to exclaim: The God of nature suffers.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>20</span> For behold, I have workings in the spirit, which doth <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/19?lang=eng weary]me even that all my joints are weak, for those who are at Jerusalem; for had not the Lord been merciful, to show unto me concerning them, even as he had prophets of old, I should have perished also.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>23</span> And I did read many things unto them which were written in the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/19?lang=eng books] of Moses; but that I might more fully persuade them to believe in the Lord their Redeemer I did read unto them that which was written by the prophet <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/19?lang=eng Isaiah]; for I did <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/19?lang=eng liken] all scriptures unto us, that it might be for our <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/19?lang=eng profit] and learning.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>24</span>  所以，我對他們說：你們要聽先知的話，你們這些以色列家族的遺裔，被折下來的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/19?lang=zho 枝條]；你們要聽先知的話，那是寫給整個以色列家族的，你們也要把那些話比作對自己說的，好使你們和你們的弟兄都一樣有希望；你們就是從他們那裡被折下來的；這就是先知所寫的話。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>24</span> Wherefore I spake unto them, saying: Hear ye the words of the prophet, ye who are a <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/19?lang=eng remnant] of the house of Israel, a<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/19?lang=eng branch] who have been broken off; <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/19?lang=eng hear] ye the words of the prophet, which were written unto all the house of Israel, and liken them unto yourselves, that ye may have hope as well as your brethren from whom ye have been broken off; for after this manner has the prophet written.</p>
