Yea, the Lord hath<sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng covenanted] this land unto me, and to my children forever, and also all those who should be <sup class='englishSup'>e</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng led] out of other countries by the hand of the Lord.</p>

And if it so be that they shall serve him according to the commandments which he hath given, it shall be a land of <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng liberty]unto them; wherefore, they shall never be brought down into captivity; if so, it shall be because of iniquity; for if iniquity shall abound <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng cursed] shall be the land for their sakes, but unto the righteous it shall be blessed forever.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>8</span>  看啊，這地暫且不為其他民族所知，是明智的；因為看啊，不然，許多民族會在此地繁衍，如此一來，就沒有地方可作為繼承的土地了。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>8</span> And behold, it is wisdom that this land should be <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng kept] as yet from the knowledge of other <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng nations]; for behold, many nations would overrun the land, that there would be no place for an inheritance.</p>

And if it so be that they shall <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng keep] his commandments they shall be blessed upon the face of this land, and there shall be none to molest them, nor to take away the land of their <sup class='englishSup'>e</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng inheritance]; and they shall dwell safely forever.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>10</span> But behold, when the time cometh that they shall dwindle in<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng unbelief], after they have received so great blessings from the hand of the Lord—having a knowledge of the creation of the earth, and all men, knowing the great and marvelous works of the Lord from the creation of the world; having power given them to do all things by faith; having all the commandments from the beginning, and having been brought by his infinite goodness into this precious land of promise—behold, I say, if the day shall come that they will reject the Holy One of Israel, the true <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng Messiah], their Redeemer and their God, behold, the judgments of him that is <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng just] shall rest upon them.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>12</span> Yea, as one generation passeth to another there shall be<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng bloodsheds], and great visitations among them; wherefore, my sons, I would that ye would remember; yea, I would that ye would hearken unto my words.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>13</span> O that ye would awake; awake from a deep <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng sleep], yea, even from the sleep of <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng hell], and shake off the awful <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng chains] by which ye are bound, which are the chains which bind the children of men, that they are carried away captive down to the eternal <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng gulf] of misery and woe.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>14</span> Awake! and arise from the dust, and hear the words of a trembling <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng parent], whose limbs ye must soon lay down in the cold and silent <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng grave], from whence no traveler can <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng return]; a few more <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng days] and I go the <sup class='englishSup'>e</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng way] of all the earth.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>15</span> But behold, the Lord hath <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng redeemed] my soul from hell; I have beheld his <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng glory], and I am encircled about eternally in the <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng arms]of his <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng love].</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>16</span>  我切望你們記住遵守主的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=zho 規章]和法典；看啊，我的靈魂一開始就為這件事擔憂。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>16</span> And I desire that ye should remember to observe the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng statutes]and the judgments of the Lord; behold, this hath been the anxiety of my soul from the beginning.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>17</span> My heart hath been weighed down with sorrow from time to time, for I have feared, lest for the hardness of your hearts the Lord your God should come out in the fulness of his <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng wrath] upon you, that ye be <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng cut] off and destroyed forever;</p>

<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>19</span>  我兒啊，但願這些事不至臨到你們，但願你們能成為主所<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=zho 精選]又蒙主恩惠的民族。但是看啊，願祂的旨意得成；因為祂的<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=zho 道]永遠正義。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>19</span> O my sons, that these things might not come upon you, but that ye might be a choice and a <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng favored] people of the Lord. But behold, his will be done; for his <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng ways] are righteousness forever.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>20</span>  祂說過：<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=zho 只要]你們遵守我的<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=zho 誡命]，你們必在這地<sup class='chineseSup'>ｃ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=zho 昌盛]；但是你們若不遵守我的誡命，你們必被剪除，與我隔絕。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>20</span> And he hath said that: <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng Inasmuch] as ye shall keep my<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng commandments] ye shall <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng prosper] in the land; but inasmuch as ye will not keep my commandments ye shall be cut off from my presence.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>22</span> That ye may not be <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng cursed] with a sore cursing; and also, that ye may not incur the displeasure of a <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng just] God upon you, unto the destruction, yea, the eternal destruction of both soul and body.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>23</span> Awake, my sons; put on the armor of <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng righteousness]. Shake off the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng chains] with which ye are bound, and come forth out of obscurity, and arise from the dust.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>24</span> Rebel no more against your brother, whose views have been<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng glorious], and who hath kept the commandments from the time that we left Jerusalem; and who hath been an instrument in the hands of God, in bringing us forth into the land of promise; for were it not for him, we must have perished with <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng hunger] in the wilderness; nevertheless, ye sought to <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng take] away his life; yea, and he hath suffered much sorrow because of you.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>25</span>  我因你們而害怕、戰慄不已，怕他再受苦；因為看啊，你們曾譴責他，說他謀求權力和<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=zho 權柄]來控制你們；但我知道他未曾謀求權力，也未曾謀求權柄來控制你們，他只追求神的榮耀和你們的永恆福祉。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>25</span> And I exceedingly fear and tremble because of you, lest he shall suffer again; for behold, ye have <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng accused] him that he sought power and <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng authority] over you; but I know that he hath not sought for power nor authority over you, but he hath sought the glory of God, and your own eternal welfare.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>26</span>  你們曾因他的直言不諱而抱怨。你們說他太<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=zho 嚴厲]，說他向你們發怒；但是看啊，他的嚴厲是在他裡面的神的話的力量的嚴厲；而你們所謂的發怒，是由於神的真理使他無法抑制，才勇敢地揭露你們的罪惡。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>26</span> And ye have murmured because he hath been plain unto you. Ye say that he hath used <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng sharpness]; ye say that he hath been angry with you; but behold, his <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng sharpness] was the sharpness of the power of the word of God, which was in him; and that which ye call anger was the truth, according to that which is in God, which he could not restrain, manifesting boldly concerning your iniquities.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>27</span>  神的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=zho 大]能必定是與他同在，甚至使你們不得不服從他的命令。但是看啊，那並不是他，而是在他裡面的<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=zho 主]的靈使他<sup class='chineseSup'>ｃ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=zho 開口]說話，他無法閉口。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>27</span> And it must needs be that the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng power] of God must be with him, even unto his commanding you that ye must obey. But behold, it was not he, but it was the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng Spirit] of the Lord which was in him, which <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng opened] his mouth to utterance that he could not shut it.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>28</span>  現在，我兒拉曼、雷米爾和賽姆，還有以實瑪利的兒子，你們也是我的兒子，看啊，如果你們聽從尼腓的聲音，你們必不滅亡。如果你們聽從他，我就留給你們一項<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=zho 祝福]，是的，就是我最先的祝福。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>28</span> And now my son, Laman, and also Lemuel and Sam, and also my sons who are the sons of Ishmael, behold, if ye will hearken unto the voice of Nephi ye shall not perish. And if ye will hearken unto him I leave unto you a <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng blessing], yea, even my first blessing.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>29</span>  但是如果你們不聽從他，我就收回我<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=zho 最先]的祝福，是的，就是我的祝福，而將這祝福加在他身上。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>29</span> But if ye will not hearken unto him I take away my <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng first]blessing, yea, even my blessing, and it shall rest upon him.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>30</span>  現在，卓倫，我對你說：看啊，你是拉班的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=zho 僕人]；不過你已被帶出耶路撒冷地，而我知道你永遠是我兒子尼腓忠實的朋友。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>30</span> And now, Zoram, I speak unto you: Behold, thou art the<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng servant] of Laban; nevertheless, thou hast been brought out of the land of Jerusalem, and I know that thou art a true <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng friend] unto my son, Nephi, forever.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>31</span> Wherefore, because thou hast been faithful thy seed shall be blessed <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1?lang=eng with] his seed, that they dwell in prosperity long upon the face of this land; and nothing, save it shall be iniquity among them, shall harm or disturb their prosperity upon the face of this land forever.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>32</span>  所以，如果你們遵守主的誡命，主已聖化這地，使你的後裔和我兒子的後裔得以安居。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>32</span> Wherefore, if ye shall keep the commandments of the Lord, the Lord hath consecrated this land for the security of thy seed with the seed of my son.</p>
