<p class='english'> Adam and Eve were chosen to be the first people to live on the earth (see Moses 1:34; 4:26).</p>

<p class='english'> Their part in our Father’s plan was to bring mortality into the world. They were to be the first parents. (See D&C 107:54–56.)</p>

<p class='chinese'>亞當和夏娃被安置在伊甸園時，還不是凡人。</p>

<p class='english'>When Adam and Eve were placed in the Garden of Eden, they were not yet mortal.</p>

<p class='chinese'>在這種狀況下，「他們不會有子女」（尼腓二書2：23），也沒有死亡。</p>

<p class='english'> In this state, “they would have had no children” (2 Nephi 2:23). There was no death.</p>

<p class='chinese'>他們有肉體的生命，因為他們的靈體住在由地上的塵土所造的身體裡（見摩西書6：59；亞伯拉罕書5：7）。</p>

<p class='english'> They had physical life because their spirits were housed in physical bodies made from the dust of the earth (see Moses 6:59; Abraham 5:7).</p>

<p class='english'> They had spiritual life because they were in the presence of God.</p>

<p class='english'>God commanded them to have children.</p>

<p class='english'> He said, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it, and have dominion over ### every living thing that moveth upon the earth” (Moses 2:28).</p>

<p class='chinese'>神告訴他們，除了善惡知識樹上的果子以外，園中任何樹上的果子都可以吃。</p>

<p class='english'> God told them they could freely eat of every tree in the garden except one, the tree of knowledge of good and evil.</p>

<p class='english'> Of that tree God said, “In the day thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” (Moses 3:17) .</p>

<p class='english'>Satan, not knowing the mind of God but seeking to destroy God’s plan, came to Eve in the Garden of Eden.</p>

<p class='chinese'>他誘惑她吃下善惡知識樹上的果子。</p>

<p class='english'> He tempted her to eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.</p>

<p class='chinese'>他向她保證，她和亞當都不會死，而且會「像眾神那樣，知道善惡」（摩西書4：11）。</p>

<p class='english'> He assured her that she and Adam would not die, but that they would “be as gods, knowing good and evil” (Moses 4:11).</p>

<p class='chinese'>夏娃屈服於誘惑，吃了那果子。</p>

<p class='english'> Eve yielded to the temptation and ate the fruit.</p>

<p class='chinese'>亞當知道了這事以後，也選擇吃那果子。</p>

<p class='english'> When Adam learned what had happened, he chose to partake also.</p>

<p class='chinese'>亞當和夏娃因為吃那果子而帶來的改變，稱為墜落。</p>

<p class='english'> The changes that came upon Adam and Eve because they ate the fruit are called the Fall .</p>

<p class='english'>Because Adam and Eve had eaten the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, the Lord sent them out of the Garden of Eden into the world.</p>

<p class='chinese'>他們的身體因為吃了禁果而產生變化。</p>

<p class='english'> Their physical condition changed as a result of their eating the forbidden fruit.</p>

<p class='chinese'>如主所言，他們成了凡人。</p>

<p class='english'> As God had promised, they became mortal .</p>

<p class='chinese'>他們和他們的子女都會經歷疾病、痛苦及肉體的死亡。</p>

<p class='english'>They and their children would experience sickness, pain, and physical death .</p>

<p class='chinese'>亞當和夏娃因為違誡的關係，也承受了屬靈的死亡。</p>

<p class='english'>Because of their transgression, Adam and Eve also suffered spiritual death.</p>

<p class='chinese'>也就是說，他們和他們的子女無法在神面前行走，或面對面與神談話。</p>

<p class='english'> This meant they and their children could not walk and talk face to face with God.</p>

<p class='chinese'>亞當、夏娃和他們的子女在屬世和屬靈上都與神隔絕。</p>

<p class='english'> Adam and Eve and their children were separated from God both physically and spiritually .</p>

Great Blessings Resulted from the Transgression

<p class='english'> • How does the Fall provide opportunities for us to become like our Heavenly Father ?</p>

<p class='chinese'>有些人認為亞當和夏娃吃了善惡知識樹上的果子，是犯了嚴重的罪。</p>

<p class='english'>Some people believe Adam and Eve committed a serious sin when they ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.</p>

<p class='chinese'>不過，近代經文讓我們明白他們的墜落是生命計畫中必要的步驟，對我們所有人而言是一大祝福。</p>

<p class='english'> However, latterday scriptures help us understand that their Fall was a necessary step in the plan of life and a great blessing to all of us.</p>

<p class='chinese'>由於墜落，我們蒙福得到身體，獲得選擇善惡的權利，以及擁有永生的機會。</p>

<p class='english'> Because of the Fall, we are blessed with physical bodies, the right to choose between good and evil, and the opportunity to gain eternal life .</p>

<p class='english'>None of these privileges would have been ours had Adam and Eve remained in the garden .</p>

<p class='english'>After the Fall, Eve said, “Were it not for our transgression we never should have had seed [children], and never should have known good and evil, and the joy of our redemption, and the eternal life which God giveth unto all the obedient” (Moses 5:11) .</p>

<p class='chinese'>先知李海解釋道：「現在看啊，如果亞當沒有違誡，他就不會墜落〔從神的面前被剪除〕，必仍留在伊甸園中， </p>

<p class='english'>The prophet Lehi explained: “And now, behold, if Adam had not transgressed he would not have fallen [been cut off from the presence of God], but he would have remained in the Garden of Eden.</p>
<p class='chinese'>所創造的萬物也必仍處在創造之後的同一狀態中，……「他們不會有子女；因此他們仍處在天真的狀態中，沒有歡樂，因為他們不知悲慘；不做善事，因為他們不知罪惡。</p>

<p class='english'> And all things which were created must have remained in the same state in which they were after they were created…. “And they would have had no children; wherefore they would have remained in a state of innocence, having no joy, for they knew no misery; doing no good, for they knew no sin .</p>

<p class='chinese'>「但是看啊，萬事都已照著那通曉萬事者的智慧完成了。</p>

<p class='english'>“But behold, all things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things .</p>

<p class='chinese'>「亞當墜落，才能有世人；成了世人，才能有快樂」（尼腓二書2：22-25）。</p>

<p class='english'>“Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy” (2 Nephi 2:22–25) .</p>
