<p class='english'>The Amlicites had marked themselves according to the prophetic word—The Lamanites had been cursed for their rebellion—Men bring their own curses upon themselves—The Nephites defeat another Lamanite army. About 87–86 B.C.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>1</span> 事情是這樣的，未被作戰武器<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/3/1a 殺死]的尼腓人埋葬了被殺死的人後──由於被殺死的人非常多，所以沒有計算──他們埋葬了死者後，都返回自己的土地和家園，回到他們的妻子和他們的兒女身邊。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>1</span> And it came to pass that the Nephites who were not <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/3?lang=eng slain] by the weapons of war, after having buried those who had been slain—now the number of the slain were not numbered, because of the greatness of their number—after they had finished burying their dead they all returned to their lands, and to their houses, and their wives, and their children.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>2</span> Now many women and children had been slain with the sword, and also many of their flocks and their herds; and also many of their fields of grain were destroyed, for they were trodden down by the hosts of men.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>3</span> And now as many of the Lamanites and the Amlicites who had been slain upon the bank of the river Sidon were cast into the<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/3?lang=eng waters] of Sidon; and behold their bones are in the depths of the<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/3?lang=eng sea], and they are many.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>4</span> And the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/3?lang=eng Amlicites] were distinguished from the Nephites, for they had <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/3?lang=eng marked] themselves with red in their foreheads after the manner of the Lamanites; nevertheless they had not shorn their heads like unto the Lamanites.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>5</span> 拉曼人的頭是剃光的；他們除了繫在腰上的獸皮和佩帶的甲冑及弓、箭、石頭、投石器等武器外，全身<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/3/5a 赤裸]。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>5</span> Now the heads of the Lamanites were shorn; and they were<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/3?lang=eng naked], save it were skin which was girded about their loins, and also their armor, which was girded about them, and their bows, and their arrows, and their stones, and their slings, and so forth.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>6</span> And the skins of the Lamanites were dark, according to the mark which was set upon their fathers, which was a <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/3?lang=eng curse] upon them because of their transgression and their rebellion against their brethren, who consisted of Nephi, Jacob, and Joseph, and Sam, who were just and holy men.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>7</span> And their brethren sought to destroy them, therefore they were cursed; and the Lord God set a <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/3?lang=eng mark] upon them, yea, upon Laman and Lemuel, and also the sons of Ishmael, and Ishmaelitish women.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>8</span> And this was done that their seed might be distinguished from the seed of their brethren, that thereby the Lord God might preserve his people, that they might not <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/3?lang=eng mix] and believe in incorrect <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/3?lang=eng traditions] which would prove their destruction.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>9</span> 事情是這樣的，凡與拉曼人通婚的，都帶給後裔同樣的詛罰。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>9</span> And it came to pass that whosoever did mingle his seed with that of the Lamanites did bring the same curse upon his seed.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>10</span> 所以，凡自甘被拉曼人誘走的，都以那名稱稱呼，身上也都做了記號。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>10</span> Therefore, whosoever suffered himself to be led away by the Lamanites was called under that head, and there was a mark set upon him.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>11</span> 事情是這樣的，從那時起，凡不相信拉曼人的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/3/11a 傳統]，而相信從耶路撒冷地帶出來的紀錄，並相信來自祖先的正確傳統的，凡相信神誡命，並遵守的，都叫作尼腓人，或尼腓的人民。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>11</span> And it came to pass that whosoever would not believe in the<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/3?lang=eng tradition] of the Lamanites, but believed those records which were brought out of the land of Jerusalem, and also in the tradition of their fathers, which were correct, who believed in the commandments of God and kept them, were <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/3?lang=eng called] the Nephites, or the people of Nephi, from that time forth—</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>12</span> 他們就是保存自己人民和拉曼人民<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/3/12a 真實]紀錄的人。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>12</span> And it is they who have kept the records which are <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/3?lang=eng true] of their people, and also of the people of the Lamanites.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>13</span> 現在我們要再回到愛姆立沙人，他們身上也做了<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/3/13a 記號]；是的，他們在自己身上做記號，就是在自己額頭上做紅色的記號。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>13</span> Now we will return again to the Amlicites, for they also had a<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/3?lang=eng mark] set upon them; yea, they set the mark upon themselves, yea, even a mark of red upon their foreheads.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>14</span> 神的話就這樣應驗了，因為這是祂對尼腓說的話：看啊，我詛咒了拉曼人，我要在他們身上做記號，從現在到永遠，使他們和他們的後裔與你和你的後裔有所分別，除非他們悔過並<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/3/14a 轉向]我，使我能憐憫他們。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>14</span> Thus the word of God is fulfilled, for these are the words which he said to Nephi: Behold, the Lamanites have I cursed, and I will set a mark on them that they and their seed may be<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/3?lang=eng separated] from thee and thy seed, from this time henceforth and forever, except they repent of their wickedness and <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/3?lang=eng turn] to me that I may have mercy upon them.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>15</span> 還有，我要在那與你哥哥通婚的人身上做記號，使他們也受詛罰。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>15</span> And again: I will set a mark upon him that mingleth his seed with thy brethren, that they may be cursed also.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>16</span> 還有，我要在那與你和你後裔爭戰的人身上做記號。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>16</span> And again: I will set a mark upon him that fighteth against thee and thy seed.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>17</span> 還有，凡離開你的人，必不再被稱作你的後裔；從現在到永遠，我要祝福你和所有稱作你後裔的人；這就是主給尼腓和他後裔的應許。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>17</span> And again, I say he that departeth from thee shall no more be called thy seed; and I will bless thee, and whomsoever shall be called thy seed, henceforth and forever; and these were the promises of the Lord unto Nephi and to his seed.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>18</span> 愛姆立沙人開始在額頭上做記號時，不知道自己正應驗了神的話，仍公然<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/3/18a 反叛]神，所以詛罰就必須落在他們身上。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>18</span> Now the Amlicites knew not that they were fulfilling the words of God when they began to mark themselves in their foreheads; nevertheless they had come out in open <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/3?lang=eng rebellion]against God; therefore it was expedient that the curse should fall upon them.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>19</span> 現在我希望你們明白，他們給自己招來<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/3/19a 詛罰]；每個受詛罰的人一樣都是自己招來罪罰的。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>19</span> Now I would that ye should see that they brought upon themselves the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/3?lang=eng curse]; and even so doth every man that is cursed bring upon himself his own condemnation.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>20</span> Now it came to pass that not many days after the battle which was fought in the land of Zarahemla, by the Lamanites and the Amlicites, that there was another army of the Lamanites came in upon the people of Nephi, in the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/3?lang=eng same] place where the first army met the Amlicites.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>21</span> 事情是這樣的，有支軍隊奉派將他們趕出他們的土地。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>21</span> And it came to pass that there was an army sent to drive them out of their land.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>22</span> Now Alma himself being afflicted with a <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/3?lang=eng wound] did not go up to battle at this time against the Lamanites;</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>23</span> 但他派了一支大軍迎戰；他們前去殺了很多拉曼人，並把其餘的拉曼人趕出邊境。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>23</span> But he sent up a numerous army against them; and they went up and slew many of the Lamanites, and drove the remainder of them out of the borders of their land.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>24</span> And then they returned again and began to establish peace in the land, being troubled no more for a time with their enemies.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>25</span> Now all these things were done, yea, all these wars and contentions were commenced and ended in the fifth year of the reign of the judges.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>26</span> And in one year were thousands and tens of thousands of souls sent to the eternal world, that they might reap their<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/3?lang=eng rewards] according to their works, whether they were good or whether they were bad, to reap eternal happiness or eternal misery, according to the spirit which they listed to obey, whether it be a good spirit or a bad one.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>27</span> 每個人都向他所選擇<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/3/27a 聽從]的人領取<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/3/27b 工資]，這是根據預言之靈的話說的；因此，就讓這事按照真理發生吧。法官統治的第五年就這樣結束了。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>27</span> For every man receiveth <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/3?lang=eng wages] of him whom he listeth to<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/3?lang=eng obey], and this according to the words of the spirit of prophecy; therefore let it be according to the truth. And thus endeth the fifth year of the reign of the judges.</p>
