<p class='english'>Men are called as high priests because of their exceeding faith and good works—They are to teach the commandments—Through righteousness they are sanctified and enter into the rest of the Lord—Melchizedek was one of these—Angels are declaring glad tidings throughout the land—They will reveal the actual coming of Christ. About 82 B.C.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>1</span> And again, my brethren, I would cite your minds forward to the time when the Lord God gave these commandments unto his children; and I would that ye should remember that the Lord God<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng ordained] priests, after his holy order, which was after the order of his Son, to teach these things unto the people.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>2</span> And those priests were ordained after the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng order] of his Son, in a<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng manner] that thereby the people might know in what manner to look forward to his Son for redemption.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>3</span> And this is the manner after which they were ordained—being<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng called] and <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng prepared] from the <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng foundation] of the world according to the <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng foreknowledge] of God, on account of their exceeding faith and good works; in the first place being left to <sup class='englishSup'>e</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng choose] good or evil; therefore they having chosen good, and exercising exceedingly great <sup class='englishSup'>f</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng faith], are <sup class='englishSup'>g</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng called] with a holy calling, yea, with that holy calling which was prepared with, and according to, a preparatory redemption for such.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>4</span> And thus they have been <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng called] to this holy calling on account of their faith, while others would reject the Spirit of God on account of the hardness of their hearts and <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng blindness] of their minds, while, if it had not been for this they might have had as great <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng privilege] as their brethren.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>5</span> Or in fine, in the first place they were on the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng same] standing with their brethren; thus this holy calling being prepared from the foundation of the world for such as would not harden their hearts, being in and through the atonement of the Only Begotten Son, who was prepared—</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>7</span> This high priesthood being after the order of his Son, which order was from the foundation of the world; or in other words, being <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng without] beginning of days or end of years, being prepared from <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng eternity] to all eternity, according to his <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng foreknowledge] of all things—</p>

And thus it is. Amen.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>10</span> Now, as I said concerning the holy order, or this <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng high]priesthood, there were many who were ordained and became high priests of God; and it was on account of their exceeding <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng faith] and<sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng repentance], and their righteousness before God, they choosing to repent and work righteousness rather than to perish;</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>11</span> 因此他們依此神聖體制蒙召喚，被<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/13/11a 聖化]，他們的<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/13/11b 衣服]藉羔羊的血，洗得潔白。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>11</span> Therefore they were called after this holy order, and were<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng sanctified], and their <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng garments] were washed white through the blood of the Lamb.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>12</span> Now they, after being <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng sanctified] by the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng Holy Ghost], having their garments made white, being <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng pure] and spotless before God, could not look upon <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng sin] save it were with <sup class='englishSup'>e</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng abhorrence]; and there were many, exceedingly great many, who were made pure and entered into the rest of the Lord their God.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>13</span> 弟兄們，我希望你們在神前謙抑自己；結出與悔改相稱的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/13/13a 果子]來，好使你們也能進入那安息。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>13</span> And now, my brethren, I would that ye should humble yourselves before God, and bring forth <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng fruit] meet for repentance, that ye may also enter into that rest.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>14</span> 是的，就像<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/13/14a 麥基洗德]時代的人民那樣謙抑自己；麥基洗德也是按照我所說的這同一體制的大祭司，他也永遠承受高級聖職。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>14</span> Yea, humble yourselves even as the people in the days of<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng Melchizedek], who was also a high priest after this same order which I have spoken, who also took upon him the high priesthood forever.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>15</span> <sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/13/15a 亞伯拉罕]就是向這位麥基洗德繳付<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/13/15b 什一奉獻]的；是的，連我們的祖先亞伯拉罕也繳出所有一切的十分之一作為什一奉獻。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>15</span> And it was this same Melchizedek to whom Abraham paid<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng tithes]; yea, even our father Abraham paid tithes of one-tenth part of all he possessed.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>16</span> 這些<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/13/16a 教儀]就按此方式賜予，使人得以藉此期待神的兒子，因為這是祂體制的一種<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/13/16b 象徵]，或者說，這就是祂的體制；這樣，他們就可以期望祂赦免他們的罪，讓他們進入主的安息。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>16</span> Now these <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng ordinances] were given after this <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng manner], that thereby the people might look forward on the Son of God, it being a <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng type] of his order, or it being his order, and this that they might look forward to him for a remission of their sins, that they might enter into the rest of the Lord.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>17</span> 這位麥基洗德是撒冷地的國王；他的人民曾經變得十分邪惡、可憎；是的，他們全都步入歧途，做盡一切壞事。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>17</span> Now this Melchizedek was a king over the land of Salem; and his people had waxed strong in iniquity and abomination; yea, they had all gone astray; they were full of all manner of wickedness;</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>18</span> 但麥基洗德運用極大的信心，按照神的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/13/18a 神聖]體制，接受高級聖職的職位，向人民宣講悔改。看啊，他們悔改了；麥基洗德在他的日子中在他的境內建立了和平；因此，他被稱為和平之君，因為他是撒冷的國王；他在父親轄下執政。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>18</span> But Melchizedek having exercised mighty faith, and received the office of the high priesthood according to the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng holy] order of God, did preach repentance unto his people. And behold, they did repent; and Melchizedek did establish peace in the land in his days; therefore he was called the prince of peace, for he was the king of Salem; and he did reign under his father.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>19</span> Now, there were <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng many] before him, and also there were many afterwards, but <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng none] were greater; therefore, of him they have more particularly made mention.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>20</span> 此事我已經說得夠多了，不必在此贅述。看啊，<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/13/20a 經文]就在你們面前；你們若<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/13/20b 曲解]經文，就必自取滅亡。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>20</span> Now I need not rehearse the matter; what I have said may suffice. Behold, the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng scriptures] are before you; if ye will <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng wrest]them it shall be to your own destruction.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>21</span> 事情是這樣的，阿爾瑪對他們說了這些話以後，向他們伸出手來，大聲喊道：現在就是<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/13/21a 悔改]的時候，因為救恩的日子近了；</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>21</span> And now it came to pass that when Alma had said these words unto them, he stretched forth his hand unto them and cried with a mighty voice, saying: <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng Now] is the time to repent, for the day of salvation draweth nigh;</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>22</span> Yea, and the voice of the Lord, by the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng mouth] of angels, doth declare it unto all nations; yea, doth declare it, that they may have glad tidings of great joy; yea, and he doth sound these glad tidings among all his people, yea, even to them that are scattered abroad upon the face of the earth; wherefore they have come unto us.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>23</span> 這好信息以<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/13/23a 明白]的字句向我們宣告，使我們明白，不會誤解，因為我們是異鄉的<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/13/23b 流浪]者；所以，我們蒙受大恩，能有這好信息傳遍我們整個葡萄園。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>23</span> And they are made known unto us in <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng plain] terms, that we may understand, that we cannot err; and this because of our being <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng wanderers] in a strange land; therefore, we are thus highly favored, for we have these glad tidings declared unto us in all parts of our vineyard.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>24</span> 因為看啊，<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/13/24a 眾]天使此時正在我們的土地上向很多人宣告這好信息，目的是為了預備人類兒女的心，在救主榮耀來臨的時刻能接受祂的話。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>24</span> For behold, <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng angels] are declaring it unto many at this time in our land; and this is for the purpose of preparing the hearts of the children of men to receive his word at the time of his coming in his glory.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>25</span> 現在我們就等著眾天使的口向我們宣布祂來臨的喜訊；因為時辰快到，我們<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/13/25a 不]知道有多快。但願神讓那時辰在我活著的日子來到；然而不論那時辰來得是早是晚，我都將因此而高興。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>25</span> And now we only wait to hear the joyful news declared unto us by the mouth of angels, of his coming; for the time cometh, we<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng know] not how soon. Would to God that it might be in my day; but let it be sooner or later, in it I will rejoice.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>26</span> 祂來臨的時候，這喜訊必經由眾天使的口，讓<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/13/26a 正直]和聖潔的人知道，以應驗我們祖先憑著他們心中的預言之靈講的有關祂的話。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>26</span> And it shall be made known unto <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/13?lang=eng just] and holy men, by the mouth of angels, at the time of his coming, that the words of our fathers may be fulfilled, according to that which they have spoken concerning him, which was according to the spirit of prophecy which was in them.</p>
