<p class='english'>Aaron teaches the Amalekites about Christ and his atonement—Aaron and his brethren are imprisoned in Middoni—After their deliverance, they teach in the synagogues and make many converts—Lamoni grants religious freedom to the people in the land of Ishmael. About 90–77 B.C.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>1</span> Now when Ammon and his brethren <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng separated] themselves in the borders of the land of the Lamanites, behold Aaron took his journey towards the land which was called by the Lamanites,<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng Jerusalem], calling it after the land of their fathers’ nativity; and it was away joining the borders of Mormon.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>2</span> 拉曼人、亞瑪力人和<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/21/2a 艾繆倫]人建了一座叫耶路撒冷的大城。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>2</span> Now the Lamanites and the Amalekites and the people of<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng Amulon] had built a great city, which was called Jerusalem.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>3</span> 拉曼人本身就夠頑硬了，但是亞瑪力人和艾繆倫人還更頑硬；因此，他們使拉曼人硬起心來，使拉曼人的邪惡和憎行變本加厲。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>3</span> Now the Lamanites of themselves were sufficiently hardened, but the Amalekites and the Amulonites were still harder; therefore they did cause the Lamanites that they should harden their hearts, that they should wax strong in wickedness and their abominations.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>4</span> And it came to pass that Aaron came to the city of Jerusalem, and first began to preach to the Amalekites. And he began to preach to them in their <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng synagogues], for they had built synagogues after the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng order] of the Nehors; for many of the Amalekites and the Amulonites were after the order of the Nehors.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>5</span> Therefore, as Aaron entered into one of their <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng synagogues] to preach unto the people, and as he was speaking unto them, behold there arose an Amalekite and began to contend with him, saying: What is that thou hast testified? Hast thou seen an<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng angel]? Why do not angels appear unto us? Behold <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng are] not this people as good as thy people?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>6</span> 你還說，我們若不悔改就要滅亡。你怎麼知道我們心裡的想法和意念？你怎麼知道我們有什麼需要悔改的？你怎麼知道我們不是正義的民族？看啊，我們蓋聖所，我們聚在一起崇拜神，我們相信神會救所有的人。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>6</span> Thou also sayest, except we repent we shall perish. How knowest thou the thought and intent of our hearts? How knowest thou that we have cause to repent? How knowest thou that we are not a <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng righteous] people? Behold, we have built <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng sanctuaries], and we do assemble ourselves together to worship <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng God]. We do believe that God will save all men.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>7</span> 亞倫對他說：你相信神的兒子要來救贖人類脫離他們的罪嗎？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>7</span> Now Aaron said unto him: Believest thou that the Son of God shall come to redeem mankind from their sins?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>8</span> 那人回答說：我們不相信你知道任何這方面的事。我們不相信這些愚蠢的傳統。我們不相信你知道<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/21/8a 未來]的事，我們也不相信你的祖先和我們的祖先知道他們所說的將要發生的事。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>8</span> And the man said unto him: We do not <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng believe] that thou knowest any such thing. We do not believe in these foolish traditions. We do not believe that thou knowest of things to come, neither do we believe that thy fathers and also that our fathers did know concerning the things which they spake, of that which is to come.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>9</span> Now Aaron began to open the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng scriptures] unto them concerning the coming of Christ, and also concerning the resurrection of the dead, and that there could be <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng no] redemption for mankind <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng save] it were through the <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng death] and sufferings of Christ, and the atonement of his blood.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>10</span> 事情是這樣的，他開始向他們解釋這些事的時候，他們都發怒了，並開始嘲弄他，不願聽他講的話。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>10</span> And it came to pass as he began to expound these things unto them they were angry with him, and began to <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng mock] him; and they would not hear the words which he spake.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>11</span> Therefore, when he saw that they would not hear his words, he departed out of their synagogue, and came over to a village which was called Ani-Anti, and there he found Muloki preaching the word unto them; and also Ammah and his brethren. And they contended with many about the word.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>12</span> 事情是這樣的，他們看到人民硬起心來，就離開那裡，來到密度乃地。他們對很多人宣講神的話，但是很少人相信他們教導的事。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>12</span> And it came to pass that they saw that the people would harden their hearts, therefore they departed and came over into the land of <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng Middoni]. And they did preach the word unto many, and <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng few] believed on the words which they taught.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>13</span> 後來亞倫和若干弟兄被捕入獄，其餘弟兄則逃離密度乃地，到附近的地方去。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>13</span> Nevertheless, Aaron and a certain number of his brethren were taken and cast into <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng prison], and the remainder of them fled out of the land of Middoni unto the regions round about.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>14</span> 那些被關進監牢的人，<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/21/14a 吃]了很多苦；他們由拉摩那和艾蒙的手救出來，他們有了東西吃，也有了衣服穿。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>14</span> And those who were cast into prison <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng suffered] many things, and they were delivered by the hand of Lamoni and Ammon, and they were fed and clothed.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>15</span> 他們又再去宣講神的話；這就是他們第一次獲釋出獄的情形；這就是他們受苦的情形。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>15</span> And they went forth again to declare the word, and thus they were delivered for the first time out of prison; and thus they had suffered.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>16</span> 他們到<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/21/16a 主]的靈引導他們去的任何地方，在每個亞瑪力人的會堂裡，或是他們可以去的拉曼人的聚會中，宣講神的話。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>16</span> And they went forth whithersoever they were led by the<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng Spirit] of the Lord, preaching the word of God in every synagogue of the Amalekites, or in every assembly of the Lamanites where they could be admitted.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>17</span> 事情是這樣的，主開始祝福他們，結果他們使很多人認識了真理；是的，他們使很多人<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/21/17a 認清]自己的罪，也認清了來自他們祖先的錯誤傳統。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>17</span> And it came to pass that the Lord began to bless them, insomuch that they brought many to the knowledge of the truth; yea, they did <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng convince] many of their sins, and of the traditions of their fathers, which were not correct.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>18</span> 事情是這樣的，艾蒙和拉摩那從密度乃地回到拉摩那和他人民繼承的土地以實瑪利地去。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>18</span> And it came to pass that Ammon and Lamoni returned from the land of Middoni to the land of <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng Ishmael], which was the land of their inheritance.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>19</span> 拉摩那王不讓艾蒙服事他，作他的僕人。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>19</span> And king Lamoni would not suffer that Ammon should serve him, or be his <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng servant].</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>20</span> 他派人在以實瑪利地建造會堂，又命他的人民，也就是在他統治下的人民，集合在一起。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>20</span> But he caused that there should be <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng synagogues] built in the land of Ishmael; and he caused that his people, or the people who were under his reign, should assemble themselves together.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>21</span> 他為他們高興，並教了他們許多事情。他還告訴他們，他們是他管治下的人民，是自由的人民，不必受他父王的壓迫；因為他父親准許他統治以實瑪利地和附近各地的人民。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>21</span> And he did rejoice over them, and he did teach them many things. And he did also declare unto them that they were a people who were under him, and that they were a <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng free] people, that they were free from the oppressions of the king, his father; for that his father had granted unto him that he might reign over the people who were in the land of Ishmael, and in all the land round about.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>22</span> 他也向他們宣布，只要在拉摩那王統治的領域內，無論什麼地方，他們都有<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/21/22a 自由]依照個人的意願崇拜主他們的神。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>22</span> And he also declared unto them that they might have the<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng liberty] of worshiping the Lord their God according to their desires, in whatsoever place they were in, if it were in the land which was under the reign of king Lamoni.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>23</span> 艾蒙向拉摩那王的人民傳道；事情是這樣的，他教導他們一切與正義有關的事。他每天盡最大的努力勸誡他們，他們也用心聽他的話，熱心遵守神的誡命。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>23</span> And Ammon did preach unto the people of king Lamoni; and it came to pass that he did teach them all things concerning things pertaining to righteousness. And he did exhort them daily, with all diligence; and they gave heed unto his word, and they were <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/21?lang=eng zealous] for keeping the commandments of God.</p>
