<p class='english'>Religious freedom is proclaimed—The Lamanites in seven lands and cities are converted—They call themselves Anti-Nephi-Lehies and are freed from the curse—The Amalekites and the Amulonites reject the truth. About 90–77 B.C.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>1</span> Behold, now it came to pass that the king of the Lamanites sent a <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng proclamation] among all his people, that they should not lay their hands on Ammon, or Aaron, or Omner, or Himni, nor either of their brethren who should go forth preaching the word of God, in whatsoever place they should be, in any part of their land.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>2</span> 是的，他頒佈法令，禁止人民出手拘捕或監禁他們；也不得對他們吐口水，不得毆打他們，不得把他們趕出會堂，不得鞭打他們，也不得用石頭擲打他們；他們可以自由進出拉曼人的住所、聖殿和聖所。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>2</span> Yea, he sent a decree among them, that they should not lay their hands on them to bind them, or to cast them into prison; neither should they spit upon them, nor smite them, nor cast them out of their <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng synagogues], nor scourge them; neither should they cast stones at them, but that they should have free access to their houses, and also their temples, and their <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng sanctuaries].</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>3</span> 於是他們可以照自己的願望去宣講神的話，因為國王和他全家都歸信了主；國王在全地發布公告，通令人民，是為了使神的話毫無阻礙地傳遍全境，讓人民認清來自祖先的邪惡<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/23/3a 傳統]，讓他們相信大家都是弟兄，不應謀殺、掠奪、偷竊、姦淫，也不應做任何邪惡的事。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>3</span> And thus they might go forth and preach the word according to their desires, for the king had been converted unto the Lord, and<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng all] his <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng household]; therefore he sent his proclamation throughout the land unto his people, that the word of God might have no obstruction, but that it might go forth throughout all the land, that his people might be convinced concerning the wicked<sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng traditions] of their fathers, and that they might be convinced that they were all brethren, and that they ought not to murder, nor to plunder, nor to steal, nor to commit adultery, nor to commit any manner of wickedness.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>4</span> 事情是這樣的，國王發出公告後，亞倫和弟兄們就一城又一城、一個崇拜處所又一個崇拜處所地建立教會，在拉曼人的各個地方，按立祭司和教師，向人民宣講和教導神的話；於是他們開始非常成功。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>4</span> And now it came to pass that when the king had sent forth this proclamation, that Aaron and his brethren went forth from <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng city]to city, and from one house of worship to another, establishing churches, and consecrating <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng priests] and teachers throughout the land among the Lamanites, to preach and to teach the word of God among them; and thus they began to have great success.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>5</span> And <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng thousands] were brought to the knowledge of the Lord, yea, thousands were brought to believe in the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng traditions] of the Nephites; and they were taught the <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng records] and prophecies which were handed down even to the present time.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>6</span> And as sure as the Lord liveth, so sure as many as believed, or as many as were brought to the knowledge of the truth, through the preaching of Ammon and his brethren, according to the spirit of revelation and of prophecy, and the power of God working<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng miracles] in them—yea, I say unto you, as the Lord liveth, as many of the Lamanites as believed in their preaching, and were<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng converted] unto the Lord, <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng never] did fall away.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>7</span> 他們成了一個正義的民族；他們放下作亂的武器，不再與神為敵，也不再與任何一位弟兄為敵。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>7</span> For they became a righteous people; they did lay down the weapons of their rebellion, that they did not fight against God any more, neither against any of their brethren.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>8</span> 以下就是<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/23/8a 當時]歸信主的人：</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>8</span> Now, these are <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng they] who were converted unto the Lord:</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>9</span> 在以實瑪利地的拉曼人；</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>9</span> The people of the Lamanites who were in the land of Ishmael;</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>10</span> 在密度乃地的拉曼人；</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>10</span> And also of the people of the Lamanites who were in the land of <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng Middoni];</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>11</span> 在尼腓城的拉曼人；</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>11</span> And also of the people of the Lamanites who were in the city of Nephi;</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>12</span> And also of the people of the Lamanites who were in the land of <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng Shilom], and who were in the land of Shemlon, and in the city of Lemuel, and in the city of Shimnilom.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>13</span> 這些就是<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/23/13a 歸信]主的拉曼人所在的城市名稱；這些就是放下作亂武器，是的，放下所有作戰武器的人；他們都是拉曼人。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>13</span> And these are the names of the cities of the Lamanites which were <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng converted] unto the Lord; and these are they that laid down the weapons of their rebellion, yea, all their weapons of war; and they were all Lamanites.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>14</span> And the Amalekites were not <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng converted], save only one; neither were any of the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng Amulonites]; but they did harden their hearts, and also the hearts of the Lamanites in that part of the land wheresoever they dwelt, yea, and all their villages and all their cities.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>15</span> 因此，我們已經說出所有那些悔改、認識真理並歸信的拉曼人所在的城市名稱。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>15</span> Therefore, we have named all the cities of the Lamanites in which they did repent and come to the knowledge of the truth, and were converted.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>16</span> 事情是這樣的，國王和那些歸信的人希望有個名稱，藉以有別於他們的弟兄；於是國王就與亞倫及許多祭司商議，該用什麼名稱以示區別。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>16</span> And now it came to pass that the king and those who were converted were desirous that they might have a name, that thereby they might be distinguished from their brethren; therefore the king consulted with Aaron and many of their priests, concerning the name that they should take upon them, that they might be distinguished.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>17</span> 事情是這樣的，他們自稱為<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/23/17a 安太尼腓李海]人；他們就以這名稱來稱呼，不再稱為拉曼人。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>17</span> And it came to pass that they called their names <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng Anti]-Nephi-Lehies; and they were called by this name and were no more called <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng Lamanites].</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>18</span> 他們成了一群非常勤勞的人民，是的，他們與尼腓人和睦相處；因此，他們開放與尼腓人的往來，神的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/23/18a 詛罰]不再隨著他們。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>18</span> And they began to be a very <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng industrious] people; yea, and they were friendly with the Nephites; therefore, they did <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng open] a correspondence with them, and the <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/23?lang=eng curse] of God did no more follow them.</p>
