<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>3</span> Therefore they were not permitted to enter into their synagogues to worship God, being esteemed as filthiness; therefore they were poor; yea, they were esteemed by their brethren as <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng dross]; therefore they were <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng poor] as to things of the world; and also they were poor in heart.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>9</span> Behold thy brother hath said, What shall we do?—for we are cast out of our synagogues, that we cannot worship our God.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>10</span> Behold I say unto you, do ye suppose that ye <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng cannot] worship God save it be in your synagogues only?</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>12</span> I say unto you, it is well that ye are cast out of your synagogues, that ye may be humble, and that ye may learn<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng wisdom]; for it is necessary that ye should learn wisdom; for it is because that ye are cast out, that ye are despised of your brethren because of your exceeding <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng poverty], that ye are brought to a lowliness of heart; for ye are necessarily brought to be humble.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>13</span> 如今，你們被迫謙卑，你們有福了；因為人若被迫謙卑，有時候會尋求悔改；的確，凡悔改的必得憐憫；凡得憐憫又<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/32/13a 持守到底]的必得救。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>13</span> And now, because ye are compelled to be humble blessed are ye; for a man sometimes, if he is compelled to be humble, seeketh <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng repentance]; and now surely, whosoever repenteth shall find mercy; and he that findeth mercy and <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng endureth] to the end the same shall be saved.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>14</span> 如今，正如我對你們說過的，你們因被迫謙卑而有福了；難道你們不認為因神的話而誠心謙抑自己的人更有福嗎？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>14</span> And now, as I said unto you, that because ye were compelled to be <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng humble] ye were blessed, do ye not suppose that they are more blessed who truly humble themselves because of the word?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>15</span> 是的，凡誠心謙抑自己，悔改罪過並持守到底的人有福了──是的，他們要比因極度貧窮而被迫謙卑的人有福多了。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>15</span> Yea, he that truly humbleth himself, and repenteth of his sins, and endureth to the end, the same shall be blessed—yea, much more blessed than they who are compelled to be humble because of their exceeding poverty.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>16</span> 因此，那些不是被迫謙卑而<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/32/16a 謙抑]自己的人有福了；或者，換句話說，凡相信神的話，心地不頑固而受洗的，是的，不須勸導或被迫認識神的話就相信的人有福了。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>16</span> Therefore, blessed are they who <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng humble] themselves without being <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng compelled] to be humble; or rather, in other words, blessed is he that believeth in the word of God, and is baptized without<sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng stubbornness] of heart, yea, without being brought to know the word, or even compelled to know, before they will believe.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>17</span> 是的，有很多人說：如果你顯個天上的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/32/17a 徵兆]給我們看，我們就會確實知道，然後我們就會相信。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>17</span> Yea, there are many who do say: If thou wilt show unto us a<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng sign] from heaven, then we shall know of a surety; then we shall believe.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>18</span> 現在我要問，這是信心嗎？看啊，我告訴你們，不是；人若知道一件事，就沒有理由要<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/32/18a 相信]，因為他已經知道了。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>18</span> Now I ask, is this faith? Behold, I say unto you, Nay; for if a man knoweth a thing he hath no cause to <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng believe], for he knoweth it.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>19</span> And now, how much <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng more] <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng cursed] is he that <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng knoweth] the<sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng will] of God and doeth it not, than he that only believeth, or only hath cause to believe, and falleth into <sup class='englishSup'>e</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng transgression]?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>20</span> 現在你們必須評斷這件事。看啊，我告訴你們，怎樣審判這一方也要怎樣審判另一方；每個人都要按照自己的行為受審判。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>20</span> Now of this thing ye must judge. Behold, I say unto you, that it is on the one hand even as it is on the other; and it shall be unto every man according to his work.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>21</span> And now as I said concerning faith—<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng faith] is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng hope]for things which are <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng not] seen, which are true.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>22</span> 現在看啊，我告訴你們，我希望你們記住，神對所有相信祂名的人都是慈悲的；因此祂首先希望你們相信祂的話。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>22</span> And now, behold, I say unto you, and I would that ye should remember, that God is <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng merciful] unto all who believe on his name; therefore he desireth, in the first place, that ye should believe, yea, even on his word.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>23</span> 如今祂藉眾天使把祂的話傳給世人，是的，<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/32/23a 不但]傳給男人，也傳給女人。不僅如此，神的話也多次傳給<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/32/23b 小孩]，使聰明的人和有學問的人羞愧。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>23</span> And now, he imparteth his word by angels unto men, yea, <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng not]only men but women also. Now this is not all; little <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng children] do have words given unto them many times, which <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng confound] the wise and the learned.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>24</span> 現在，我心愛的弟兄們，既然你們因為受折磨、被趕出，想從我這裡知道該怎麼辦──我不希望你們以為我有意只就事實論斷你們──</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>24</span> And now, my beloved brethren, as ye have desired to know of me what ye shall do because ye are afflicted and cast out—now I do not desire that ye should suppose that I mean to judge you only according to that which is true—</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>25</span> 我並不是說你們每一個人都是被迫謙抑自己的；因為我的確相信，你們有些人不論在什麼環境下，都會謙抑自己。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>25</span> For I do not mean that ye all of you have been compelled to humble yourselves; for I verily believe that there are some among you who <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng would] humble themselves, let them be in whatsoever circumstances they might.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>26</span> 我剛才說到信心，說信心並不是完全的知識，我的話也是如此。你們無法一開始就完全知道我說的話是真的，同樣的，信心不是完全的知識。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>26</span> Now, as I said concerning faith—that it was not a perfect knowledge—even so it is with my words. Ye cannot know of their surety at first, unto perfection, any more than faith is a perfect knowledge.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>27</span> 但是看啊，如果你們願意喚醒和激發你們的心力，直到你們願意拿我的話作個實驗，並運用些微的信心，是的，即使你們只有相信的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/32/27a 願望]，就讓這願望在你們心中發生作用，直到你們相信到能讓出地方給我部分的話。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>27</span> But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng desire] to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words.</p>

Now, if ye give place, that a <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng seed] may be planted in your <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng heart], behold, if it be a true seed, or a good seed, if ye do not cast it out by your <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng unbelief], that ye will resist the Spirit of the Lord, behold, it will begin to swell within your breasts; and when you feel these swelling motions, ye will begin to say within yourselves—It must needs be that this is a good seed, or that the word is good, for it beginneth to enlarge my soul; yea, it beginneth to <sup class='englishSup'>e</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng enlighten] my<sup class='englishSup'>f</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng understanding], yea, it beginneth to be delicious to me.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>29</span> 現在看啊，這不會增加你們的信心嗎？我告訴你們，會的，只是這信心尚未長成完全的知識。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>29</span> Now behold, would not this increase your faith? I say unto you, Yea; nevertheless it hath not grown up to a perfect knowledge.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>30</span> 但是看啊，種子膨脹、萌芽，開始成長時，你們一定會說那種子是好的，因為看啊，它膨脹、萌芽並開始成長。現在看啊，這不會增強你們的信心嗎？會的，這會增強你們的信心：因為你們會說，我知道這是好種子，因為看啊，它萌芽並開始成長了。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>30</span> But behold, as the seed swelleth, and sprouteth, and beginneth to grow, then you must needs say that the seed is good; for behold it swelleth, and sprouteth, and beginneth to grow. And now, behold, will not this strengthen your faith? Yea, it will strengthen your faith: for ye will say I know that this is a good seed; for behold it sprouteth and beginneth to grow.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>31</span> 現在看啊，你們確定這是好種子嗎？我告訴你們，是的；因為每粒種子都會結出與自己<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/32/31a 同類]的果子。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>31</span> And now, behold, are ye sure that this is a good seed? I say unto you, Yea; for every seed bringeth forth unto its own<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng likeness].</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>32</span> 因此，種子若成長，就是好種子，若不成長，看啊，就不是好種子，因此要丟棄。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>32</span> Therefore, if a seed groweth it is good, but if it groweth not, behold it is not good, therefore it is cast away.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>33</span> 現在看啊，因為你們已經作了實驗，播了種子，而那種子膨脹、萌芽、開始成長，你一定知道那種子是好的。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>33</span> And now, behold, because ye have tried the experiment, and planted the seed, and it swelleth and sprouteth, and beginneth to grow, ye must needs know that the seed is good.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>34</span> 現在看啊，你們的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/32/34a 知識]完全了嗎？是的，你們對那件事的知識是完全的，你們的<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/32/34b 信心]就休眠了；這是因為你們知道，你們知道神的話已使你們的靈魂膨脹，你們也知道那種子已萌芽，你們的悟性開始啟發，你們的<sup class='chineseSup'>ｃ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/32/34c 心智]開始擴展。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>34</span> And now, behold, is your <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng knowledge] <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng perfect]? Yea, your knowledge is perfect in that thing, and your <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng faith] is dormant; and this because you know, for ye know that the word hath swelled your souls, and ye also know that it hath sprouted up, that your understanding doth begin to be enlightened, and your<sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng mind] doth begin to expand.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>35</span> 這難道不是真的嗎？我告訴你們，是真的，因為這就是<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/32/35a 光]；凡是光就是好的，因為那是可以辨別的，所以，你們一定知道那是好的；現在看啊，你們體驗了這光以後，你們的知識是否完全了呢？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>35</span> O then, is not this real? I say unto you, Yea, because it is<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng light]; and whatsoever is light, is <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng good], because it is discernible, therefore ye must know that it is good; and now behold, after ye have tasted this light is your knowledge perfect?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>36</span> 看啊，我告訴你們，不是；你們也不可以把信心擱置一旁，因為你們只不過才運用信心播下種子，試驗種子是否良好而已。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>36</span> Behold I say unto you, Nay; neither must ye lay aside your faith, for ye have only exercised your faith to plant the seed that ye might try the experiment to know if the seed was good.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>37</span> 看啊，樹開始成長的時候，你們會說：我們要極細心培植，讓它生根、茁壯，為我們結果子。現在看啊，如果你們細心培植，樹就會生根、茁壯、結出果子。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>37</span> And behold, as the tree beginneth to grow, ye will say: Let us nourish it with great care, that it may get root, that it may grow up, and bring forth fruit unto us. And now behold, if ye nourish it with much care it will get root, and grow up, and bring forth fruit.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>38</span> 但是如果你們<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/32/38a 疏忽]那棵樹，沒有想到要加以培植，看啊，它就一點也不生根；因為沒有根，太陽的熱氣一曬，樹就枯萎了，於是你們就把樹拔起來丟掉。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>38</span> But if ye <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng neglect] the tree, and take no thought for its nourishment, behold it will not get any root; and when the heat of the sun cometh and scorcheth it, because it hath no root it withers away, and ye pluck it up and cast it out.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>39</span> 這並不是因為種子不好，也不是因為樹上的果子可能不好吃，而是因為你們的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/32/39a 土地]貧瘠，你們又不培植那棵樹，所以你們才無法吃到樹上的果子。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>39</span> Now, this is not because the seed was not good, neither is it because the fruit thereof would not be desirable; but it is because your <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng ground] is <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng barren], and ye will not nourish the tree, therefore ye cannot have the fruit thereof.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>40</span> 因此，你們若不培植神的話，不以信心之眼盼望樹上的果子，你們就永遠無法採到<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/32/40a 生命樹]上的果子。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>40</span> And thus, if ye will not nourish the word, looking forward with an eye of faith to the fruit thereof, ye can never pluck of the fruit of the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng tree] of life.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>41</span> 但是，如果你們培植神的話，是的，在那樹開始成長的時候，就憑信心、努力和<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/32/41a 耐心]加以培植，盼望樹上的果子，那樹一定生根，看啊，一定會<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/32/41b 長成]一棵永恆生命的樹。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>41</span> But if ye will nourish the word, yea, nourish the tree as it beginneth to grow, by your faith with great diligence, and with<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng patience], looking forward to the fruit thereof, it shall take root; and behold it shall be a tree <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng springing] up unto everlasting life.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>42</span> 由於你們以<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/32/42a 努力]、信心和耐心培植神的話，使它在你們心裡生根，看啊，不久你們必能採到樹上的<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/32/42b 果子]；那果子最為寶貴，比一切甜蜜的更甜蜜，比一切潔白的更潔白，是的，比一切純潔的更純潔；你們將飽享那果子，直到吃飽為止，使你們不飢餓，也不口渴。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>42</span> And because of your <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng diligence] and your faith and your patience with the word in nourishing it, that it may take root in you, behold, by and by ye shall pluck the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng fruit] thereof, which is most precious, which is sweet above all that is sweet, and which is white above all that is white, yea, and pure above all that is pure; and ye shall feast upon this fruit even until ye are filled, that ye hunger not, neither shall ye thirst.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>43</span> 弟兄們，到時候，你們等待那棵樹為你們結果子時所付出的信心、努力、耐心及恆久忍耐，都必獲得酬報。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>43</span> Then, my brethren, ye shall <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng reap] the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng rewards] of your faith, and your diligence, and patience, and long-suffering, waiting for the tree to bring forth <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng fruit] unto you.</p>
