<p class='english'>Moroni complains to Pahoran of the government’s neglect of the armies—The Lord suffers the righteous to be slain—The Nephites must use all of their power and means to deliver themselves from their enemies—Moroni threatens to fight against the government unless help is supplied to his armies. <p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>1</span> And it came to pass that he wrote <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng again] to the governor of the land, who was Pahoran, and these are the words which he wrote, saying: Behold, I direct mine epistle to Pahoran, in the city of Zarahemla, who is the chief judge and the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng governor] over the land, and also to all those who have been chosen by this people to govern and manage the affairs of this war.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>2</span> 因為看啊，我要用譴責的方式對他們說一些話；因為看啊，你們知道你們被任命來召集男子，用劍、用彎刀及各式各樣作戰武器裝備他們，並派他們與侵略我們任何一部分領土的拉曼人作戰。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>2</span> For behold, I have somewhat to say unto them by the way of<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng condemnation]; for behold, ye yourselves know that ye have been appointed to gather together men, and arm them with swords, and with cimeters, and all manner of weapons of war of every kind, and send forth against the Lamanites, in whatsoever parts they should come into our land.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>3</span> 現在看啊，我告訴你們，我和我的人，以及希拉曼和他的人忍受了極大的苦難，是的，嘗盡飢渴疲累及各種苦難。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>3</span> And now behold, I say unto you that myself, and also my men, and also Helaman and his men, have suffered exceedingly great<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng sufferings]; yea, even hunger, thirst, and fatigue, and all manner of afflictions of every kind.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>4</span> But behold, were this all we had suffered we would not murmur nor complain.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>5</span> 但是看啊，我們的人民死傷慘重；是的，數以千計的人倒在劍下，如果你們派給我軍足夠的兵力和支援，情況就可能不同。是的，你們太不關心我們了。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>5</span> But behold, great has been the slaughter among our people; yea, thousands have fallen by the sword, while it might have otherwise been if ye had rendered unto our armies sufficient strength and succor for them. Yea, great has been your neglect towards us.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>6</span> 現在看啊，我們想知道你們這麼疏忽的原因；是的，我們想知道你們漠不關心的原因。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>6</span> And now behold, we desire to know the cause of this exceedingly great neglect; yea, we desire to know the cause of your thoughtless state.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>7</span> 你們以為敵人在你們四周展開死亡的工作，是的，殺害你們數千名弟兄時，你們還能高踞寶座，麻木不仁──</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>7</span> Can you think to sit upon your thrones in a state of thoughtless<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng stupor], while your enemies are spreading the work of death around you? Yea, while they are murdering thousands of your brethren—</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>8</span> 是的，那些仰賴你們保護的人認為你們會救他們，是的，認為你們會派軍隊給他們，加強他們，救他們數以千計的人不死在劍下。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>8</span> Yea, even they who have looked up to you for protection, yea, have placed you in a situation that ye might have succored them, yea, ye might have sent armies unto them, to have strengthened them, and have saved thousands of them from falling by the sword.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>9</span> 但是看啊，不僅如此──你們還扣留補給不給他們，使許多人因為非常渴望謀求這人民的福祉而爭戰，流血而死；是的，由於你們毫不關心他們，他們戰死前已瀕臨<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/60/9a 餓死]的邊緣。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>9</span> But behold, this is not all—ye have withheld your provisions from them, insomuch that many have fought and bled out their lives because of their great desires which they had for the welfare of this people; yea, and this they have done when they were about to <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng perish] with hunger, because of your exceedingly great neglect towards them.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>10</span> 現在，我心愛的弟兄們──你們應當為人所敬愛；是的，為了這人民的福祉與自由，你們應當更加激勵自己；但是看啊，由於你們的疏忽，數以千計的人的血要報復在你們頭上，因為神聽到他們所有的呼喊，知道他們所有的苦難──</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>10</span> And now, my beloved brethren—for ye ought to be beloved; yea, and ye ought to have stirred yourselves more diligently for the welfare and the freedom of this people; but behold, ye have neglected them insomuch that the blood of thousands shall come upon your heads for vengeance; yea, for <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng known] unto God were all their cries, and all their sufferings—</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>11</span> 看啊，你們以為可以高踞寶座，因為神無比的良善而可以不做什麼，祂就會拯救你們嗎？看啊，如果你們這麼想，就是妄想。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>11</span> Behold, could ye suppose that ye could sit upon your thrones, and because of the exceeding goodness of God ye could do nothing and he would deliver you? Behold, if ye have supposed this ye have supposed in vain.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>12</span> 你們<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/60/12a 以為]許多弟兄被殺是因為他們的罪惡嗎？我告訴你們，如果你們這麼想，你們就是妄想；我告訴你們，許多人死在劍下，看啊，那等於是定你們的罪；</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>12</span> Do ye <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng suppose] that, because so many of your brethren have been killed it is because of their wickedness? I say unto you, if ye have supposed this ye have supposed in vain; for I say unto you, there are many who have fallen by the sword; and behold it is to your condemnation;</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>13</span> 主讓<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/60/13a 義人]被殺，使祂的公道與懲罰能臨到惡人；因此，你們不必以為義人因被殺而失落；看啊，他們已進入主他們的神的安息。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>13</span> For the Lord suffereth the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng righteous] to be slain that his justice and <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng judgment] may come upon the wicked; therefore ye need not suppose that the righteous are lost because they are slain; but behold, they do enter into the rest of the Lord their God.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>14</span> 現在看啊，我告訴你們，我很擔心神的懲罰會臨到這人民，因為他們非常怠惰，是的，連政府也怠惰，他們毫不關心那些弟兄，是的，那些被殺的弟兄。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>14</span> And now behold, I say unto you, I fear exceedingly that the judgments of God will come upon this people, because of their exceeding <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng slothfulness], yea, even the slothfulness of our government, and their exceedingly great neglect towards their brethren, yea, towards those who have been slain.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>15</span> 要不是我們的長官率先<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/60/15a 作惡]，我們本可以抵擋敵人，使他們無法戰勝我們。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>15</span> For were it not for the wickedness which first commenced at our head, we <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng could] have withstood our enemies that they could have gained no power over us.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>16</span> Yea, had it not been for the war which broke out <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng among]ourselves; yea, were it not for these <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng king]-men, who caused so much bloodshed among ourselves; yea, at the time we were contending among ourselves, if we had united our strength as we hitherto have done; yea, had it not been for the desire of power and authority which those king-men had over us; had they been true to the cause of our freedom, and united with us, and gone forth against our enemies, instead of taking up their swords against us, which was the cause of so much bloodshed among ourselves; yea, if we had gone forth against them in the strength of the Lord, we should have dispersed our enemies, for it would have been done, according to the <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng fulfilling] of his word.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>17</span> 但是看啊，現在拉曼人來攻擊我們，佔領我們的土地，用劍殺害我們的人民，是的，殺害我們的婦女和小孩，俘虜他們，使他們受盡各種痛苦，這都因為那些圖謀權力和權柄的人，是的，就是國王派人士所行的大惡。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>17</span> But behold, now the Lamanites are coming upon us, taking<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng possession] of our lands, and they are murdering our people with the sword, yea, our women and our children, and also carrying them away captive, causing them that they should suffer all manner of afflictions, and this because of the great wickedness of those who are seeking for power and authority, yea, even those king-men.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>18</span> 這件事我為什麼要說這麼多呢？因為我們不知道你們是否也在爭權。我們不知道你們是否也是國家的叛徒。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>18</span> But why should I say much concerning this matter? For we know not but what ye yourselves are seeking for authority. We know not but what ye are also <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng traitors] to your country.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>19</span> 你們是否因身處國家心臟地帶，外有安全保護，就不關心我們，不送糧食給我們，也不派兵來加強我們的軍隊？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>19</span> Or is it that ye have neglected us because ye are in the heart of our country and ye are <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng surrounded] by security, that ye do not cause food to be sent unto us, and also men to strengthen our armies?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>20</span> 你們忘了主你們的神的誡命嗎？是的，你們忘了我們祖先受奴役的事嗎？你們忘了我們曾多次獲救脫離敵人的手嗎？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>20</span> Have ye forgotten the commandments of the Lord your God? Yea, have ye forgotten the captivity of our fathers? Have ye forgotten the many times we have been delivered out of the hands of our enemies?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>21</span> 你們以為我們高踞寶座，不運用主提供給我們的方法，主仍然會拯救我們嗎？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>21</span> Or do ye suppose that the Lord <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng will] still deliver us, while we sit upon our thrones and do not make use of the means which the Lord has provided for us?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>22</span> 是的，邊境各地有成千的人倒在劍下，是的，受傷流血時，你們周圍有成千的人，是的，成千上萬的人坐著不管時，你們也坐著不管嗎？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>22</span> Yea, will ye sit in idleness while ye are surrounded with thousands of those, yea, and tens of thousands, who do also sit in idleness, while there are thousands round about in the borders of the land who are falling by the sword, yea, wounded and bleeding?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>23</span> 你們以為你們坐視這些事情，神會視你們無罪嗎？看啊，我告訴你們，不會。我希望你們記得神說過，要先潔淨<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/60/23a 器皿]的內部，然後也要潔淨器皿的外部。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>23</span> Do ye suppose that God will look upon you as guiltless while ye sit still and behold these things? Behold I say unto you, Nay. Now I would that ye should remember that God has said that the<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng inward] vessel shall be <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng cleansed] first, and then shall the outer vessel be cleansed also.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>24</span> 除非你們悔改你們所做的事，並且開始起而行，送糧食和人給我們並且也給希拉曼，使他能守住收復的那一部分領土，也使我們能收復這一地區的其他領土，看啊，否則我們最好不要再和拉曼人作戰，直到我們先潔淨器皿的內部，是的，也就是我們政府的首長。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>24</span> And now, except ye do repent of that which ye have done, and begin to be up and doing, and send forth food and men unto us, and also unto Helaman, that he may support those parts of our country which he has regained, and that we may also recover the remainder of our possessions in these parts, behold it will be expedient that we contend no more with the Lamanites until we have first cleansed our inward vessel, yea, even the great head of our government.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>25</span> 除非你們答應我信中的要求，並且出來向我展現真正的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/60/25a 自由]精神，大力加強和鞏固我們的軍隊，給他們糧食補給，看啊，否則我會派我一部分自由派人士留守這部分國土，把神的力量和祝福留給他們，使任何力量都無法操縱他們──</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>25</span> And except ye grant mine epistle, and come out and show unto me a true <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng spirit] of freedom, and strive to strengthen and fortify our armies, and grant unto them food for their support, behold I will leave a part of my freemen to maintain this part of our land, and I will leave the strength and the blessings of God upon them, that none other power can operate against them—</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>26</span> 這是因為他們極大的信心和在患難中的耐心──</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>26</span> And this because of their exceeding faith, and their patience in their <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng tribulations]—</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>27</span> 我要到你們那裡去，如果你們當中還有人渴望自由，是的，如果還留有一點自由的火花，看啊，我必鼓動他們起義，直到那些僭取權力和權柄的人滅絕為止。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>27</span> And I will come unto you, and if there be any among you that has a desire for freedom, yea, if there be even a spark of freedom remaining, behold I will stir up insurrections among you, even until those who have desires to usurp power and authority shall become extinct.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>28</span> 是的，看啊，我不怕你們的權力，也不怕你們的權柄，我只敬畏我的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/60/28a 神]；我奉祂的命令，拿劍捍衛我的國家，因為你們的罪惡，我們才遭受慘重的損失。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>28</span> Yea, behold I do not fear your power nor your authority, but it is my <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng God] whom I fear; and it is according to his commandments that I do take my sword to defend the cause of my country, and it is because of your iniquity that we have suffered so much loss.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>29</span> 看啊，時候到了，是的，時候就近在眼前，你們若不發奮保衛國家和小孩，<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/60/29a 公]義之劍就懸在你們頭上；是的，那劍必落在你們身上，懲罰你們，甚至徹底消滅你們。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>29</span> Behold it is time, yea, the time is now at hand, that except ye do bestir yourselves in the defence of your country and your little ones, the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng sword] of justice doth hang over you; yea, and it shall fall upon you and visit you even to your utter destruction.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>30</span> 看啊，我等待你們的支援；你們若不來援助我們，看啊，我必到你們那裡去，也就是到柴雷罕拉地，用劍攻擊你們，使你們再也無力阻撓這人民在自由方面的進步。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>30</span> Behold, I wait for assistance from you; and, except ye do administer unto our relief, behold, I come unto you, even in the land of Zarahemla, and smite you with the sword, insomuch that ye can have no more power to impede the progress of this people in the cause of our freedom.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>31</span> 因為看啊，主必不容許你們存活而更加邪惡，來毀滅祂正義的人民。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>31</span> For behold, the Lord will not suffer that ye shall live and wax strong in your iniquities to destroy his righteous people.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>32</span> 看啊，你們以為主會饒恕你們而出來懲罰拉曼人嗎？他們的仇恨是他們祖先的傳統造成的，是的，而從我們叛離出去的人又倍增他們的仇恨，但是你們的邪惡卻是因為你們喜愛虛榮及世上無益的事物。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>32</span> Behold, can you suppose that the Lord will spare you and come out in judgment against the Lamanites, when it is the<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng tradition] of their fathers that has caused their hatred, yea, and it has been redoubled by those who have dissented from us, while your iniquity is for the cause of your love of glory and the vain things of the world?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>33</span> 你們知道你們違反了神的律法，也知道你們把律法放在腳下踐踏。看啊，主對我說：如果你們選派的那些統治者不悔改他們的罪惡和不義，你們必須去和他們作戰。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>33</span> Ye know that ye do transgress the laws of God, and ye do know that ye do trample them under your feet. Behold, the Lord saith unto me: If those whom ye have appointed your governors do not repent of their sins and <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng iniquities], ye shall <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/60?lang=eng go] up to battle against them.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>34</span> 現在看啊，我，摩羅乃，立約遵守神的誡命，就受這約定限制；因此，我希望你們服從神的話，儘速把你們的補給和你們的人給我和給希拉曼。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>34</span> And now behold, I, Moroni, am constrained, according to the covenant which I have made to keep the commandments of my God; therefore I would that ye should adhere to the word of God, and send speedily unto me of your provisions and of your men, and also to Helaman.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>35</span> 看啊，如果你們不這麼做，我很快就會到你們那裡去；因為看啊，神不會讓我們餓死，即使要動用刀劍，祂也會把你們的糧食給我們。現在就請你們實踐神的話。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>35</span> And behold, if ye will not do this I come unto you speedily; for behold, God will not suffer that we should perish with hunger; therefore he will give unto us of your food, even if it must be by the sword. Now see that ye fulfil the word of God.</p>
