<p class='english'>Messengers find the chief judge dead at the judgment seat—They are imprisoned and later released—By inspiration Nephi identifies Seantum as the murderer—Nephi is accepted by some as a prophet. About 23–21B.C.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>1</span> 看啊，事情是這樣的，尼腓講完這些話，群眾中有幾個人就向審判席跑去；是的，同行的有五個人，他們邊走邊說：</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>1</span> Behold, now it came to pass that when Nephi had spoken these words, certain men who were among them ran to the judgment-seat; yea, even there were <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/9?lang=eng five] who went, and they said among themselves, as they went:</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>2</span> 看啊，我們很快就可以確定這個人是不是先知，以及神是不是命令他向我們預言這些奇妙的事。看啊，我們不相信神命令了他，是的，我們不相信他是先知；不過，若他說的有關首席法官的事是真的，若他真的死了，那麼，我們就相信他所講的其他話也是真的。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>2</span> Behold, now we will know of a surety whether this man be a prophet and God hath commanded him to prophesy such marvelous things unto us. Behold, we do not <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/9?lang=eng believe] that he hath; yea, we do not believe that he is a prophet; nevertheless, if this thing which he has said concerning the chief judge be true, that he be dead, then will we believe that the other words which he has spoken are true.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>3</span> 事情是這樣的，他們盡快跑向審判席；看啊，首席法官已倒在地上，<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/hel/9/3a 躺]在血泊中。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>3</span> And it came to pass that they ran in their might, and came in unto the judgment-seat; and behold, the chief judge had fallen to the earth, and did <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/9?lang=eng lie] in his blood.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>4</span> 現在看啊，他們見狀都極為驚慌，以致紛紛倒在地上，因為他們原不相信尼腓所說有關首席法官的話。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>4</span> And now behold, when they saw this they were astonished exceedingly, insomuch that they fell to the earth; for they had not believed the words which Nephi had spoken concerning the chief judge.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>5</span> 但是現在，他們看見了，他們就相信了；恐懼臨到他們，因為他們害怕尼腓所說的懲罰會臨到人民；他們因而戰慄，並倒在地上。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>5</span> But now, when they saw they believed, and fear came upon them lest all the judgments which Nephi had spoken <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/9?lang=eng should]come upon the people; therefore they did quake, and had fallen to the earth.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>6</span> 首席法官遇刺後──他是被他的弟弟喬裝行刺而死的，他的弟弟已逃走，僕眾立即跑去告訴人民，高喊有人行刺；</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>6</span> Now, immediately when the judge had been murdered—he being stabbed by his brother by a garb of secrecy, and he fled, and the servants ran and told the people, raising the cry of murder among them;</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>7</span> 看啊，人民湧向審判席──看啊，他們看見倒在地上的那五個人，都驚訝不已。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>7</span> And behold the people did gather themselves together unto the place of the judgment-seat—and behold, to their astonishment they saw those <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/9?lang=eng five] men who had fallen to the earth.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>8</span> 現在看啊，人民對群眾聚集在<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/hel/9/8a 尼腓]園子之事，毫不知情，所以，他們彼此說：行刺法官的，就是這些人，神擊打他們，使他們無法逃走。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>8</span> And now behold, the people knew nothing concerning the multitude who had gathered together at the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/9?lang=eng garden] of Nephi; therefore they said among themselves: These men are they who have murdered the judge, and God has smitten them that they could not flee from us.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>9</span> 事情是這樣的，人民抓住他們，把他們綁起來，關進監牢。有公告發出來宣布法官遇刺，兇手已被捕入獄。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>9</span> And it came to pass that they laid hold on them, and bound them and cast them into prison. And there was a proclamation sent abroad that the judge was slain, and that the murderers had been taken and were cast into prison.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>10</span> 事情是這樣的，第二天，人民聚集起來，在這位遇刺的首席大法官的葬禮上哀悼<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/hel/9/10a 禁食]。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>10</span> And it came to pass that on the morrow the people did assemble themselves together to <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/9?lang=eng mourn] and to <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/9?lang=eng fast], at the burial of the great chief judge who had been slain.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>11</span> 那些在尼腓園子聽尼腓講話的法官也聚集在葬禮上。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>11</span> And thus also those judges who were at the garden of Nephi, and heard his words, were also gathered together at the burial.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>12</span> 事情是這樣的，他們向人民打聽，說：派去打聽首席法官是否死亡的那五個人在哪裡？他們回答說：我們不知道你們所說你們派去的那五個人，但是有五個兇手，我們已將他們關進了監牢。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>12</span> And it came to pass that they inquired among the people, saying: Where are the five who were sent to inquire concerning the chief judge whether he was dead? And they answered and said: Concerning this five whom ye say ye have sent, we know not; but there are five who are the murderers, whom we have cast into prison.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>13</span> 事情是這樣的，法官們要求把他們帶來，他們被帶來了，看啊，正是被派去的那五個人；看啊，法官詢問他們，好知道事情的究竟，他們就把所做的一切告訴法官，說：</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>13</span> And it came to pass that the judges desired that they should be brought; and they were brought, and behold they were the five who were sent; and behold the judges inquired of them to know concerning the matter, and they told them all that they had done, saying:</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>14</span> 我們跑到審判席的所在，看到一切事情都和尼腓見證的一樣，我們驚嚇過度倒在地上；我們從驚嚇中清醒過來時，看啊，他們就把我們關進監獄了。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>14</span> We ran and came to the place of the judgment-seat, and when we saw all things even as Nephi had testified, we were astonished insomuch that we fell to the earth; and when we were recovered from our astonishment, behold they cast us into <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/9?lang=eng prison].</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>15</span> 至於這人遇刺，我們不知道是誰做的；我們只知道我們照你們的要求跑到這裡時，看啊，他已經死了，正如尼腓說的一樣。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>15</span> Now, as for the murder of this man, we know not who has done it; and only this much we know, we ran and came <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/9?lang=eng according]as ye desired, and behold he was dead, according to the words of Nephi.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>16</span> 事情是這樣的，法官們向人民說明這件事，並大聲反對尼腓，說：看啊，我們知道尼腓一定和某人串通好來殺害法官，然後好向我們宣布這件事，要我們歸依他的信仰，他好抬高自己為神所揀選的偉人和先知。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>16</span> And now it came to pass that the judges did expound the matter unto the people, and did cry out against Nephi, saying: Behold, we know that this Nephi must have agreed with some one to slay the judge, and then he might declare it unto us, that he might convert us unto his faith, that he might raise himself to be a great man, chosen of God, and a prophet.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>17</span> 現在看啊，我們要調查這個人，他會認罪，並告訴我們行刺法官的真兇。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>17</span> And now behold, we will detect this man, and he shall confess his fault and make known unto us the true murderer of this judge.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>18</span> 事情是這樣的，葬禮當天那五個人就被釋放了。不過他們仍然譴責法官們反對尼腓的話，並和他們一一爭辯，使他們啞口無言。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>18</span> And it came to pass that the five were liberated on the day of the burial. Nevertheless, they did rebuke the judges in the words which they had spoken against Nephi, and did contend with them one by one, insomuch that they did confound them.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>19</span> 雖然如此，他們仍下令逮捕尼腓，將他捆綁，帶到群眾面前；他們開始用各種方法審問他，好使他自相矛盾，以定他死罪──</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>19</span> Nevertheless, they caused that Nephi should be taken and bound and brought before the multitude, and they began to question him in divers ways that they might cross him, that they might accuse him to death—</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>20</span> 他們對他說：你是共犯，謀殺法官的人是誰？現在就告訴我們，並且認罪；又說：看啊，錢在這裡，如果你告訴我們，並承認你和他串通好，我們就饒你一命。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>20</span> Saying unto him: Thou art confederate; who is this man that hath done this murder? Now tell us, and acknowledge thy fault; saying, Behold here is <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/9?lang=eng money]; and also we will grant unto thee thy life if thou wilt tell us, and acknowledge the agreement which thou hast made with him.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>21</span> 但尼腓對他們說：你們這些<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/hel/9/21a 愚蠢]、內心未受割禮、盲目又<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/hel/9/21b 倔強]的人啊，你們可知道，主你們的神會容忍你們固守你們這罪惡的道路多久嗎？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>21</span> But Nephi said unto them: O ye <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/9?lang=eng fools], ye uncircumcised of heart, ye blind, and ye <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/9?lang=eng stiffnecked] people, do ye know how long the Lord your God will suffer you that ye shall go on in this your way of sin?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>22</span> 你們應該開始號哭<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/hel/9/22a 悲哀]了，因為此時大毀滅正等著你們，除非你們悔改。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>22</span> O ye ought to begin to howl and <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/9?lang=eng mourn], because of the great destruction which at this time doth await you, except ye shall repent.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>23</span> 看啊，你們說我和人串通好，要他行刺我們的首席法官夕卓倫。但是看啊，我告訴你們，這是因為我向你們作證，讓你們知道這件事；是的，向你們證明，我知道你們的邪惡和憎行。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>23</span> Behold ye say that I have agreed with a man that he should murder Seezoram, our chief judge. But behold, I say unto you, that this is because I have testified unto you that ye might know concerning this thing; yea, even for a witness unto you, that I did know of the wickedness and abominations which are among you.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>24</span> 我這麼做，你們就說我與人串通好，要他做這件事；是的，我給你們看了這徵兆，你們就對我發怒，企圖毀滅我的性命。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>24</span> And because I have done this, ye say that I have agreed with a man that he should do this thing; yea, because I showed unto you this sign ye are angry with me, and seek to destroy my life.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>25</span> 現在看啊，我要給你們看另一個徵兆，看看你們是否還會因這事企圖毀滅我。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>25</span> And now behold, I will show unto you another sign, and see if ye will in this thing seek to destroy me.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>26</span> 看啊，我告訴你們：到<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/hel/9/26a 夕卓倫]的弟弟西安德家裡去，對他說──</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>26</span> Behold I say unto you: Go to the house of Seantum, who is the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/9?lang=eng brother] of Seezoram, and say unto him—</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>27</span> 那曾預言許多關於這人民的災禍，並自命為先知的尼腓，是否與你串通好，要你去行刺你的哥哥夕卓倫？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>27</span> Has Nephi, the pretended prophet, who doth prophesy so much evil concerning this people, agreed with thee, in the which ye have murdered Seezoram, who is your brother?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>28</span> 看啊，他必對你們說：沒有。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>28</span> And behold, he shall say unto you, Nay.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>29</span> 你們要對他說：你殺了你的哥哥嗎？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>29</span> And ye shall say unto him: Have ye murdered your brother?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>30</span> 他必站在那裡，非常害怕，不知道要說什麼。看啊，他必否認，裝出吃驚的樣子；儘管如此，他一定會向你們聲明他是無辜的。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>30</span> And he shall stand with fear, and wist not what to say. And behold, he shall deny unto you; and he shall make as if he were astonished; nevertheless, he shall declare unto you that he is innocent.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>31</span> 但是看啊，你們要檢查他，你們會在他外衣下擺發現血跡。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>31</span> But behold, ye shall examine him, and ye shall find blood upon the skirts of his cloak.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>32</span> 你們看到時，要說：這血跡是從哪裡來的？你以為我們不知道那是你哥哥的血嗎？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>32</span> And when ye have seen this, ye shall say: From whence cometh this blood? Do we not know that it is the blood of your brother?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>33</span> 這時他必發抖，臉色蒼白，彷彿死亡已臨到他。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>33</span> And then shall he tremble, and shall look pale, even as if death had come upon him.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>34</span> 然後你們要說：因為你臉上的恐懼和蒼白，看啊，我們知道你是有罪的。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>34</span> And then shall ye say: Because of this fear and this paleness which has come upon your face, behold, we know that thou art guilty.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>35</span> 這時他必愈發恐懼，終必向你們承認，不再否認犯下這樁謀殺案。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>35</span> And then shall greater fear come upon him; and then shall he confess unto you, and deny no more that he has done this murder.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>36</span> 然後他會告訴你們，我尼腓對此事毫不知情，只有神的力量才能使我知道。那時，你們就知道我是誠實的人，是神派我到你們這裡來的。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>36</span> And then shall he say unto you, that I, Nephi, know nothing concerning the matter save it were given unto me by the power of God. And then shall ye know that I am an honest man, and that I am sent unto you from God.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>37</span> 事情是這樣的，他們照尼腓對他們說的話去做。看啊，他說的話都是真的；因為如尼腓所說的，他否認了，又如尼腓所說的，他承認了。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>37</span> And it came to pass that they went and did, even according as Nephi had said unto them. And behold, the words which he had said were true; for according to the words he did deny; and also according to the words he did confess.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>38</span> 他被引導證明他本人就是真正的兇手，於是尼腓和那五個人都獲得自由。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>38</span> And he was brought to prove that he himself was the very murderer, insomuch that the five were set at liberty, and also was Nephi.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>39</span> 有些尼腓人相信尼腓的話，也有些人因為那五個人的見證而相信；那五個人在坐牢時歸信了。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>39</span> And there were some of the Nephites who believed on the words of Nephi; and there were some also, who believed because of the testimony of the five, for they had been converted while they were in prison.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>40</span> 現在人民中有人說尼腓是先知。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>40</span> And now there were some among the people, who said that Nephi was a prophet.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>41</span> 也有人說：看啊，他是神，因為除非他是神，否則怎能知道所有的事。因為看啊，他道出我們的心思，告訴我們許多事，甚至讓我們知道行刺我們首席法官的真兇。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>41</span> And there were others who said: Behold, he is a god, for except he was a god he could not <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/9?lang=eng know] of all things. For behold, he has told us the thoughts of our hearts, and also has told us things; and even he has brought unto our knowledge the true murderer of our chief judge.</p>
