<p class='english'>Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet to the Church, at Kirtland, Ohio, 4 February 1831 (see History of the Church, 1:146–47). The Kirtland Branch of the Church at this time was rapidly increasing in numbers. Prefacing this revelation, the Prophet wrote, “[The] members … were striving to do the will of God, so far as they knew it, though some strange notions and false spirits had crept in among them … [and] the Lord gave unto the Church the following” (History of the Church, 1:146–47).</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>2</span> Hearken, O ye elders of my church whom I have called, behold I give unto you a commandment, that ye shall assemble yourselves together to <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/41?lang=eng agree] upon my word;</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>6</span> For it is not meet that the things which belong to the children of the kingdom should be given to them that are not worthy, or to<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/41?lang=eng dogs], or the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/41?lang=eng pearls] to be cast before swine.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>10</span> To see to all things as it shall be appointed unto him in my laws in the day that I shall give them.</p>
