and behold, they did give light unto the vessels.</p> <p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>3</span> 主就這樣讓石子在黑暗中發光,照亮男人、女人和小孩,使他們不必在黑暗中渡過大水。</p> <p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>3</span> And thus the Lord caused stones to shine in darkness, to give light unto men, women, and children, that they might not cross the great waters in darkness.</p> <p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>4</span> 事情是這樣的,他們準備了各種在水上賴以維生的食物,也為他們的牲口及要帶走的各類飛禽走獸準備食物──事情是這樣的,他們準備好這一切後,就登上他們的船,也就是平底船,駛進大海,將自己交託給主他們的神。</p> <p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>4</span> And it came to pass that when they had prepared all manner of<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/ether/6?lang=eng food], that thereby they might subsist upon the water, and also food for their flocks and herds, and <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/ether/6?lang=eng whatsoever] beast or animal or fowl that they should carry with them—and it came to pass that when they had done all these things they got aboard of their vessels or barges, and set forth into the sea, commending themselves unto the Lord their God.</p> <p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>5</span> 事情是這樣的,主神使水面上颳起<sup class='chineseSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/ether/6?lang=zho 狂風],吹向應許地,因此他們被風吹得顛簸於海浪之上。</p> <p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>5</span> And it came to pass that the Lord God caused that there should be a <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/ether/6?lang=eng furious] wind blow upon the face of the waters, <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/ether/6?lang=eng towards] the promised land;
