<p class='english'>Chapter 2</p>
<p class='chinese'>邪惡和憎行在人民之中蔓延──尼腓人與拉曼人聯合抵禦甘大安敦盜匪──歸信的拉曼人變白，稱為尼腓人。約主後五年至十六年。</p>
<p class='english'>Wickedness and abominations increase among the people—The Nephites and Lamanites unite to defend themselves against the Gadianton robbers—Converted Lamanites become white and are called Nephites. About A.D.5–16.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>1</span> 事情是這樣的，第九十五年也就這樣過去了，人民開始忘記他們聽到的徵兆和奇事，對天上來的徵兆或奇事，開始愈來愈不覺驚奇，以致他們開始心地頑硬，心智盲目，開始不相信他們所聽到和看到的一切──</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>1</span> And it came to pass that thus passed away the ninety and fifth year also, and the people began to forget those <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/2?lang=eng signs] and wonders which they had heard, and began to be less and less astonished at a sign or a wonder from heaven, insomuch that they began to be hard in their hearts, and blind in their minds, and began to disbelieve all which they had heard and seen—</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>2</span> 他們在心中想出一些虛妄的事來，認為那是人和魔鬼的力量做成的，為的是誘拐和<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/3_ne/2/2a 欺騙]人心；撒但就這樣再度佔據人心，以致蒙蔽他們的眼睛，誘騙他們相信基督的教義是愚蠢而虛妄的。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>2</span> <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/2?lang=eng Imagining] up some vain thing in their hearts, that it was wrought by men and by the power of the devil, to lead away and<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/2?lang=eng deceive] the hearts of the people; and thus did Satan get possession of the hearts of the people again, insomuch that he did blind their eyes and lead them away to believe that the doctrine of Christ was a <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/2?lang=eng foolish] and a vain thing.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>3</span> 事情是這樣的，人民的邪惡和憎行開始日益嚴重，他們不相信徵兆或奇事會再出現；而撒但<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/3_ne/2/3a 到處]誘拐人心，誘使人民在該地做極邪惡的事。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>3</span> And it came to pass that the people began to wax strong in wickedness and abominations; and they did not believe that there should be any more signs or wonders given; and Satan did <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/2?lang=eng go]about, leading away the hearts of the people, tempting them and causing them that they should do great wickedness in the land.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>4</span> 第九十六年就這樣過去了；第九十七、九十八及九十九年也這樣過去了。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>4</span> And thus did pass away the ninety and sixth year; and also the ninety and seventh year; and also the ninety and eighth year; and also the ninety and ninth year;</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>5</span> 從尼腓人民的國王<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/3_ne/2/5a 摩賽亞]的時代迄今，一百年過去了。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>5</span> And also an hundred years had passed away since the days of<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/2?lang=eng Mosiah], who was king over the people of the Nephites.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>6</span> 從李海離開耶路撒冷以來，六百零九年過去了。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>6</span> And six hundred and nine years had passed away since Lehi left Jerusalem.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>7</span> 徵兆出現至今已過了九年；就是眾先知講過，基督降世的徵兆。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>7</span> And nine years had passed away from the time when the sign was given, which was spoken of by the prophets, that Christ should come into the world.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>8</span> 尼腓人開始從徵兆出現這段時間起，或從基督來臨時起，計算他們的時間；所以，至今已過了九年。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>8</span> Now the Nephites began to <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/2?lang=eng reckon] their time from this period when the sign was given, or from the coming of Christ; therefore, nine years had passed away.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>9</span> And Nephi, who was the father of Nephi, who had the charge of the records, <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/2?lang=eng did] not return to the land of Zarahemla, and could nowhere be found in all the land.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>10</span> 事情是這樣的，儘管向人民宣講了很多道理和預言，他們依然邪惡；第十年就這樣過去了；第十一年也在罪惡中度過。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>10</span> And it came to pass that the people did still <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/2?lang=eng remain] in wickedness, notwithstanding the much preaching and prophesying which was sent among them; and thus passed away the tenth year also; and the eleventh year also passed away in iniquity.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>11</span> 事情是這樣的，到了第十三年，戰亂與紛爭四起；甘大安敦盜匪人數極多，殺了許多人，使許多城市荒廢，在各地散佈許多死亡和屠殺，以致全體人民，不論尼腓人或拉曼人，都必須拿起武器對抗他們。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>11</span> And it came to pass in the thirteenth year there began to be wars and contentions throughout all the land; for the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/2?lang=eng Gadianton]robbers had become so <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/2?lang=eng numerous], and did slay so many of the people, and did lay waste so many cities, and did spread so much death and carnage throughout the land, that it became expedient that all the people, both the Nephites and the Lamanites, should take up arms against them.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>12</span> 因此，所有歸信主的拉曼人，便與他們的弟兄尼腓人聯合，為了他們的生命及婦女和小孩的安全，是的，也為了維護他們的權利及他們教會和崇拜的權益，並維護他們的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/3_ne/2/12a 自由]和自主，不得不拿起武器來對抗甘大安敦盜匪。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>12</span> Therefore, all the Lamanites who had become converted unto the Lord did unite with their brethren, the Nephites, and were compelled, for the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/2?lang=eng safety] of their lives and their women and their children, to take up arms against those Gadianton robbers, yea, and also to maintain their rights, and the privileges of their church and of their worship, and their freedom and their <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/2?lang=eng liberty].</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>13</span> 事情是這樣的，第十三年結束前，戰況變得非常慘痛，尼腓人由於這場戰爭而面臨徹底毀滅的威脅。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>13</span> And it came to pass that before this thirteenth year had passed away the Nephites were threatened with utter destruction because of this war, which had become exceedingly sore.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>14</span> 事情是這樣的，那些與尼腓人聯合的拉曼人，都被算在尼腓人之中；</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>14</span> And it came to pass that those Lamanites who had united with the Nephites were numbered among the Nephites;</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>15</span> And their <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/2?lang=eng curse] was taken from them, and their skin became<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/2?lang=eng white] like unto the Nephites;</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>16</span> 他們的少男和他們的女兒變得非常俊美；他們被算在尼腓人之中，並被稱為尼腓人。第十三年就這樣結束了。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>16</span> And their young men and their daughters became exceedingly fair, and they were numbered among the Nephites, and were called Nephites. And thus ended the thirteenth year.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>17</span> 事情是這樣的，第十四年初，盜匪與尼腓人之間的戰爭繼續進行，戰況變得非常慘烈；不過尼腓人比盜匪略佔優勢，終於將盜匪從尼腓人的土地上逐回山裡，逐回他們的祕密處所。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>17</span> And it came to pass in the commencement of the fourteenth year, the war between the robbers and the people of Nephi did continue and did become exceedingly sore; nevertheless, the people of Nephi did gain some advantage of the robbers, insomuch that they did drive them back out of their lands into the mountains and into their secret places.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>18</span> 第十四年就這樣結束了。第十五年，他們又來攻擊尼腓人；由於尼腓人的邪惡以及他們的許多紛爭與衝突，甘大安敦盜匪佔了很大的優勢。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>18</span> And thus ended the fourteenth year. And in the fifteenth year they did come forth against the people of Nephi; and because of the wickedness of the people of Nephi, and their many contentions and dissensions, the Gadianton robbers did gain many advantages over them.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>19</span> 第十五年就這樣結束了，人民就這樣處在飽受苦難的狀態中；<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/3_ne/2/19a 毀滅]之劍懸在他們頭上，他們就要被那劍擊倒了；這都因為他們的罪惡。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>19</span> And thus ended the fifteenth year, and thus were the people in a state of many afflictions; and the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/2?lang=eng sword] of destruction did hang over them, insomuch that they were about to be smitten down by it, and this because of their iniquity.</p>
