Yea, by the temporal law they were cut off; and also, by the spiritual law they perish from that which is good, and become miserable forever.</p>

Wherefore, the ends of the law which the Holy One hath given, unto the inflicting of the <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/2?lang=eng punishment] which is affixed, which punishment that is affixed is in opposition to that of the happiness which is affixed, to answer the ends of the <sup class='englishSup'>e</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/2?lang=eng atonement]—</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>11</span>  因為萬事必須有<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/2?lang=zho 對立]，我在曠野頭生的孩子啊，若不這樣，正義就無法出現，邪惡也無法出現，神聖或悲慘，好或壞，也都無法出現。這樣的話，萬物必混成一體；如果成了一體，就必如同死了一般，沒有生命也沒有死亡，沒有腐壞也沒有不朽，沒有快樂也沒有悲慘，沒有知覺也沒有麻木。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>11</span> For it must needs be, that there is an <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/2?lang=eng opposition] in all things. If not so, my first-born in the wilderness, righteousness could not be brought to pass, neither wickedness, neither holiness nor misery, neither good nor bad. Wherefore, all things must needs be a compound in one; wherefore, if it should be one body it must needs remain as dead, having no life neither death, nor corruption nor incorruption, happiness nor misery, neither sense nor insensibility.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>12</span>  這樣的話，那一定是創造了一堆沒有價值的東西，那種創造結果毫無<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/2?lang=zho 目的]可言。因此，這事必會破壞神的智慧與祂的永恆目的，也會破壞神的大能、慈悲和<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/2?lang=zho 公道]。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>12</span> Wherefore, it must needs have been created for a thing of naught; wherefore there would have been no <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/2?lang=eng purpose] in the end of its creation. Wherefore, this thing must needs destroy the wisdom of God and his eternal purposes, and also the power, and the mercy, and the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/2?lang=eng justice] of God.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>13</span>  如果你們要說<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/2?lang=zho 沒有]律法，你們也會說沒有罪惡。如果你們要說沒有罪惡，你們也會說沒有正義。如果沒有正義，就不會有幸福。如果沒有正義和幸福，就不會有懲罰和悲慘。如果這些都沒有，那也就<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/2?lang=zho 沒有]神了。如果沒有神，就不會有我們，也沒有這世界；因為不可能有萬物的創造，也不會有主動者或被動者；那麼，萬物都必消失無蹤。</p>

If ye shall say there is no sin, ye shall also say there is no righteousness. And if there be no righteousness there be no happiness. And if there be no righteousness nor happiness there be no punishment nor misery. And if these things are not <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/2?lang=eng there] is no God. And if there is no God we are not, neither the earth; for there could have been no creation of things, neither to act nor to be acted upon; wherefore, all things must have vanished away.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>22</span> And now, behold, if Adam had not transgressed he would not have fallen, but he would have remained in the garden of Eden. And all things which were created must have remained in the same state in which they were after they were created; and they must have remained forever, and had no end.</p>

<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>30</span>  我兒啊，我已在我受驗證的最後日子，向你們大家講了這短短的一席話；我已遵照那位先知的話，選擇那好的部分。除了你們靈魂的永恆福祉外，我別無他求。阿們。</p>
