<p class='english'>Many Nephites migrate to the land northward—They build houses of cement and keep many records—Tens of thousands are converted and baptized—The word of God leads men to salvation—Nephi the son of Helaman fills the judgment seat. About 49–39 B.C.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>1</span> 事情是這樣的，法官統治的第四十三年，尼腓人中沒有紛爭，只是在教會裡有些微的驕傲，在人民中引起了一些小的糾紛，這些事件在四十三年底都解決了。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>1</span> And now it came to pass in the forty and third year of the reign of the judges, there was no contention among the people of Nephi save it were a little pride which was in the church, which did cause some little dissensions among the people, which affairs were settled in the ending of the forty and third year.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>6</span> And now no part of the land was desolate, save it were for timber; but because of the greatness of the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng destruction] of the people who had before inhabited the land it was called <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng desolate].</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>14</span> But behold, a <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng hundredth] part of the proceedings of this people, yea, the account of the Lamanites and of the Nephites, and their wars, and contentions, and dissensions, and their preaching, and their prophecies, and their shipping and their building of ships, and their building of <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng temples], and of synagogues and their <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng sanctuaries], and their righteousness, and their wickedness, and their murders, and their robbings, and their plundering, and all manner of abominations and whoredoms, cannot be contained in this work.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>15</span> 但是看啊，有各種書籍和紀錄，大部分是由尼腓人所寫的。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>15</span> But behold, there are many books and many <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng records] of every kind, and they have been kept chiefly by the Nephites.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>16</span> And they have been <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng handed] down from one generation to another by the Nephites, even until they have fallen into transgression and have been murdered, plundered, and hunted, and driven forth, and slain, and <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng scattered] upon the face of the earth, and mixed with the Lamanites until they are <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng no] more called the Nephites, becoming wicked, and wild, and ferocious, yea, even becoming Lamanites.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>17</span> 現在再回到我的記事上；因此我說的事，都在尼腓人的大紛爭、動亂、戰事及衝突後發生。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>17</span> And now I return again to mine account; therefore, what I have spoken had passed after there had been great contentions, and disturbances, and wars, and dissensions, among the people of Nephi.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>18</span> The forty and sixth year of the reign of the judges ended;</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>19</span> 事情是這樣的，第四十七年和第四十八年，當地仍有大紛爭。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>19</span> And it came to pass that there was still great contention in the land, yea, even in the forty and seventh year, and also in the forty and eighth year.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>20</span> Nevertheless <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng Helaman] did fill the judgment-seat with justice and equity; yea, he did observe to keep the statutes, and the judgments, and the commandments of God; and he did do that which was right in the sight of God continually; and he did walk after the ways of his father, insomuch that he did prosper in the land.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>21</span> And it came to pass that he had two sons. He gave unto the eldest the name of <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng Nephi], and unto the youngest, the name of Lehi. And they began to grow up unto the Lord.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>22</span> And it came to pass that the wars and contentions began to cease, in a small degree, among the people of the Nephites, in the latter end of the forty and eighth year of the reign of the judges over the people of Nephi.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>23</span> And it came to pass in the forty and ninth year of the reign of the judges, there was continual peace established in the land, all save it were the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng secret] combinations which <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng Gadianton] the robber had established in the more settled parts of the land, which at that time were not known unto those who were at the head of government; therefore they were not destroyed out of the land.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>24</span> 事情是這樣的，在這同一年，教會極為昌盛，數以千計的人加入教會，接受悔改的洗禮。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>24</span> And it came to pass that in this same year there was exceedingly great prosperity in the church, insomuch that there were thousands who did <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng join] themselves unto the church and were baptized unto repentance.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>25</span> 教會如此的昌盛，傾注於人民的祝福那麼多，連大祭司和教師都驚訝不已。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>25</span> And so great was the prosperity of the church, and so many the blessings which were poured out upon the people, that even the high priests and the teachers were themselves astonished beyond measure.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>26</span> 事情是這樣的，主的事工蓬勃發展，許多人，是的，甚至成千上萬的人都受洗加入神的教會。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>26</span> And it came to pass that the work of the Lord did prosper unto the baptizing and uniting to the church of God, many souls, yea, even tens of thousands.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>27</span> Thus we may see that the Lord is merciful unto all who will, in the sincerity of their hearts, call upon his holy name.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>28</span> Yea, thus we see that the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng gate] of heaven is open unto <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng all], even to those who will believe on the name of Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>29</span> Yea, we see that whosoever will may lay hold upon the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng word]of God, which is <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng quick] and powerful, which shall <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng divide] asunder all the cunning and the snares and the wiles of the devil, and lead the man of Christ in a strait and <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng narrow] course across that everlasting <sup class='englishSup'>e</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng gulf] of misery which is prepared to engulf the wicked—</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>31</span> And in this year there was continual rejoicing in the land of Zarahemla, and in all the regions round about, even in all the land which was possessed by the Nephites.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>32</span> And it came to pass that there was peace and exceedingly great joy in the remainder of the forty and ninth year; yea, and also there was continual peace and great joy in the fiftieth year of the reign of the judges.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>33</span> 法官統治的第五十一年也很和平，只是驕傲開始進入教會，不是進入神的教會，而是進入自稱屬於神教會的人心中。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>33</span> And in the fifty and first year of the reign of the judges there was peace also, save it were the pride which began to enter into the church—not into the church of God, but into the hearts of the people who <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng professed] to belong to the church of God—</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>34</span> 他們<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/hel/3/34a 驕傲]自大，迫害許多弟兄。這是一樁大罪，使比較謙卑的那部分人遭受極大的迫害，飽受各種苦難。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>34</span> And they were lifted up in <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng pride], even to the persecution of many of their brethren. Now this was a great evil, which did cause the more humble part of the people to suffer great persecutions, and to wade through much affliction.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>35</span> Nevertheless they did <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng fast] and <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng pray] oft, and did wax stronger and stronger in their <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng humility], and firmer and firmer in the faith of Christ, unto the filling their souls with joy and consolation, yea, even to the <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng purifying] and the <sup class='englishSup'>e</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng sanctification] of their hearts, which sanctification cometh because of their <sup class='englishSup'>f</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng yielding] their hearts unto God.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>36</span> 事情是這樣的，第五十二年也在和平中結束了，但嚴重的驕傲已深入人心；這是因為他們在當地極為<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/hel/3/36a 富裕]昌盛，所以他們一天比一天驕傲。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>36</span> And it came to pass that the fifty and second year ended in peace also, save it were the exceedingly great pride which had gotten into the hearts of the people; and it was because of their exceedingly great <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/3?lang=eng riches] and their prosperity in the land; and it did grow upon them from day to day.</p>
