and I would that ye should <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/1?lang=eng keep] the commandments of God, that ye may <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/1?lang=eng prosper] in the land according to the <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/1?lang=eng promises] which the Lord made unto our fathers.</p> <p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>8</span> 便雅憫王還教了他兒子許多事,那些事都未寫在這本書上。</p> <p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>8</span> And many more things did king Benjamin teach his sons, which are not written in this book.</p> <p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>9</span> 事情是這樣的,便雅憫王結束對他兒子的教導後,日漸老邁了,他自知很快就要走上世人必走的路;因此,他覺得應該把王國交給一個兒子。</p> <p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>9</span> And it came to pass that after king Benjamin had made an end of teaching his sons, that he waxed <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/1?lang=eng old], and he saw that he must very soon go the way of all the earth; for on the morrow I shall proclaim unto this my people out of mine own mouth that thou art a <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/1?lang=eng king] and a ruler over this people, whom the Lord our God hath given us.</p> <p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>11</span> 此外,我要給這人民一個<sup class='chineseSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/1?lang=zho 名稱],使他們得以與主神帶離耶路撒冷的各民族有所區分,並高於那些民族;我這樣做是因為他們是個努力遵守神誡命的民族。</p> <p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>11</span> And moreover, I shall give this people a <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/1?lang=eng name], that thereby they may be distinguished above all the people which the Lord God hath brought out of the land of Jerusalem; and he will no more <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/1?lang=eng preserve] them by his matchless and marvelous power, as he has hitherto preserved our fathers.</p> <p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>14</span> 我告訴你,假如祂沒有伸出臂膀來保護我們的祖先,他們必然已淪入拉曼人的手中,成了他們仇恨的犧牲者。</p> <p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>14</span> For I say unto you, that if he had not extended his arm in the preservation of our fathers they must have fallen into the hands of the Lamanites, and become victims to their hatred.</p> <p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>15</span> 事情是這樣的,便雅憫王對他兒子講完這些話,就把所有的國事都交託給他。</p> <p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>15</span> And it came to pass that after king Benjamin had made an end of these sayings to his son, that he gave him <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/1?lang=eng charge] concerning all the affairs of the kingdom.</p> <p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>16</span> 此外,他把刻在<sup class='chineseSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/1?lang=zho 銅]頁片上的紀錄也交託給他,還有尼腓片,以及<sup class='chineseSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/1?lang=zho 拉班]劍,和<sup class='chineseSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/1?lang=zho 圓球]或導向器;那圓球即導向器曾領我們祖先通過曠野,是主的手所預備的,好使主按照各人對祂留意和努力的程度而指引他們。</p> <p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>16</span> And moreover, he also gave him charge concerning the records which were engraven on the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/1?lang=eng plates] of brass; and also the plates of Nephi; and also, the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/1?lang=eng sword] of Laban, and the <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/1?lang=eng ball] or director, which led our fathers through the wilderness, which was prepared by the hand of the Lord that thereby they might be led, every one according to the heed and diligence which they gave unto him.</p> <p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>17</span> 因此,他們不忠信的時候,他們的旅途就不順利,也沒進展,反而<sup class='chineseSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/1?lang=zho 倒退],並招致神的不悅;結果就受飢荒和痛苦折磨的擊打,以喚醒他們記起自己的職責。</p> <p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>17</span> Therefore, as they were <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/1?lang=eng unfaithful] they did not prosper nor progress in their journey, but were <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/1?lang=eng driven] back, and incurred the displeasure of God upon them;
