<p class='english'>Abinadi is imprisoned for prophesying the destruction of the people and the death of King Noah—The false priests quote the scriptures and pretend to keep the law of Moses—Abinadi begins to teach them the Ten Commandments. About 148 B.C.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>1</span> And it came to pass that after the space of two years that Abinadi came among them in disguise, that they knew him not, and began to <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng prophesy] among them, saying: Thus has the Lord commanded me, saying—Abinadi, go and prophesy unto this my people, for they have hardened their hearts against my words; they have repented not of their evil doings; therefore, I will <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng visit]them in my anger, yea, in my fierce anger will I visit them in their iniquities and abominations.</p>

And the Lord said unto me: Stretch forth thy hand and prophesy, saying: Thus saith the Lord, it shall come to pass that this generation, because of their iniquities, shall be brought into <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng bondage], and shall be smitten on the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng cheek]; yea, and shall be driven by men, and shall be slain; and the vultures of the air, and the dogs, yea, and the wild beasts, shall devour their <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng flesh].</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>4</span> And it shall come to pass that I will smite this my people with sore afflictions, yea, with famine and with <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng pestilence]; and I will cause that they shall <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng howl] all the day long.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>6</span> And it shall come to pass that I will send forth <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng hail] among them, and it shall smite them; and they shall also be smitten with the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng east] wind; and <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng insects] shall pester their land also, and devour their grain.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>7</span> And they shall be smitten with a great pestilence—and all this will I do because of their <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng iniquities] and abominations.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>8</span> And it shall come to pass that except they repent I will utterly<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng destroy] them from off the face of the earth; yet they shall leave a<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng record] behind them, and I will preserve them for other nations which shall possess the land; yea, even this will I do that I may discover the abominations of this people to other nations. And many things did Abinadi prophesy against this people.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>10</span> And he also prophesieth evil concerning thy <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng life], and saith that thy life shall be as a garment in a furnace of fire.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>11</span>  他還說，您會像草梗，就像野地的乾草梗一樣，任野獸跑過，在腳下踐踏。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>11</span> And again, he saith that thou shalt be as a stalk, even as a dry stalk of the field, which is run over by the beasts and trodden under foot.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>12</span> And again, he saith thou shalt be as the blossoms of a thistle, which, when it is fully ripe, if the wind bloweth, it is driven forth upon the face of the land. And he pretendeth the Lord hath spoken it. And he saith all this shall come upon thee except thou repent, and this because of thine iniquities.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>13</span>  王啊，您作了什麼大惡，或您的人民犯了什麼大罪，要被神定罪或受這人的論斷？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>13</span> And now, O king, what great evil hast thou done, or what great sins have thy people committed, that we should be <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng condemned] of God or judged of this man?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>14</span>  王啊，您看，我們是無罪的，王啊，您也沒有犯罪；因此，這人指著您說的都是謊言，他的預言必然落空。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>14</span> And now, O king, behold, we are <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng guiltless], and thou, O king, hast not sinned; therefore, this man has <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng lied] concerning you, and he has prophesied in vain.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>15</span>  看啊，我們很強大，不會被奴役，或被敵人俘虜；是的，您已在這地上昌盛，必繼續昌盛。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>15</span> And behold, we are strong, we shall not come into bondage, or be taken captive by our enemies; yea, and thou hast prospered in the land, and thou shalt also prosper.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>16</span>  看啊，人就在這兒，我們把他交在您手裡，任您照您認為好的方式處置他。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>16</span> Behold, here is the man, we deliver him into thy hands; thou mayest do with him as seemeth thee good.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>17</span> And it came to pass that king Noah caused that Abinadi should be cast into prison; and he commanded that the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng priests] should gather themselves together that he might hold a council with them what he should do with him.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>18</span>  事情是這樣的，他們對王說：把他帶來，讓我們審問他；王就下令帶他到他們面前來。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>18</span> And it came to pass that they said unto the king: Bring him hither that we may question him; and the king commanded that he should be brought before them.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>19</span> And they began to question him, that they might cross him, that thereby they might have wherewith to <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng accuse] him; but he answered them boldly, and withstood all their questions, yea, to their astonishment; for he did <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng withstand] them in all their questions, and did confound them in all their words.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>21</span> <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng How] beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng that]bringeth good tidings; that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good; that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth;</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>22</span>  你的守望者必揚起聲來；他們必一同歌唱。因為主再帶回錫安的時候，他們必親眼看見。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>22</span> <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng Thy] watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing; for they shall see eye to eye when the Lord shall bring again Zion;</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>23</span>  耶路撒冷的荒場啊，要發起歡聲，一同歌唱。因為主安慰了祂的人民，救贖了耶路撒冷。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>23</span> Break forth into joy; sing together ye waste places of Jerusalem; for the Lord hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem;</p>

<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>25</span>  阿賓納代對他們說：你們是<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=zho 祭司]嗎？你們裝模作樣教導這人民，並宣稱了解預言之靈，卻要從我這裡知道這些事的意思？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>25</span> And now Abinadi said unto them: Are you <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng priests], and pretend to teach this people, and to understand the spirit of prophesying, and yet desire to know of me what these things mean?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>26</span>  我告訴你們，你們這些歪曲主道路的人有禍了！因為就算你們了解這些事，你們卻沒有教導這些事；所以，你們歪曲了主的道路。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>26</span> I say unto you, wo be unto you for perverting the ways of the Lord! For if ye understand these things ye have not taught them; therefore, ye have perverted the ways of the Lord.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>27</span>  你們未曾真心求<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=zho 了解]，所以，你們並不聰明，因此你們教導這人民什麼？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>27</span> Ye have not applied your <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng hearts] to <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng understanding]; therefore, ye have not been wise. Therefore, what teach ye this people?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>28</span>  他們說：我們教導摩西律法。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>28</span> And they said: We teach the law of Moses.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>29</span>  他又對他們說：如果你們教導<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=zho 摩西]律法，你們為什麼不遵守？你們為什麼把心放在財富上？你們為什麼<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=zho 通姦]、將精力用在娼妓身上，是的，還使人民犯罪，以致主派我來預言對這人民不利的事，是的，就是那不利於人民的大禍？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>29</span> And again he said unto them: If ye teach the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng law] of Moses why do ye not keep it? Why do ye set your hearts upon <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng riches]? Why do ye commit whoredoms and <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng spend] your strength with harlots, yea, and cause this people to commit sin, that the Lord has cause to send me to prophesy against this people, yea, even a great evil against this people?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>30</span>  難道你們不知道我說的是實話？是的，你們知道我說的是實話，你們應當在神前戰慄。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>30</span> Know ye not that I speak the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng truth]? Yea, ye know that I speak the truth; and you ought to tremble before God.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>31</span>  事情將是這樣，你們必因你們的罪受擊打，因為你們說你們教導摩西律法。你們對摩西律法了解多少？<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=zho 救恩]是由摩西律法而來的嗎？你們認為呢？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>31</span> And it shall come to pass that ye shall be smitten for your iniquities, for ye have said that ye teach the law of Moses. And what know ye concerning the law of Moses? <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng Doth] salvation come by the law of Moses? What say ye?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>32</span>  他們答道，救恩是由摩西律法而來。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>32</span> And they answered and said that salvation did come by the law of Moses.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>33</span> But now Abinadi said unto them: I know if ye <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng keep] the commandments of God ye shall be saved; yea, if ye keep the commandments which the Lord delivered unto Moses in the mount of <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng Sinai], saying:</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>34</span>  <sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=zho 我]是主你的神，曾將你從埃及地為奴之家<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=zho 領出]來。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>34</span> <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng I am] the Lord thy God, who hath <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/12?lang=eng brought] thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.</p>
