<p class='english'>Some Lamanite daughters are abducted by the priests of Noah—The Lamanites wage war upon Limhi and his people—The Lamanite hosts are repulsed and pacified. About 145–123 B.C.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>1</span>  拉曼人的女兒常聚集在歇隆的一個地方唱歌跳舞自娛。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>1</span> Now there was a place in <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/20?lang=eng Shemlon] where the daughters of the Lamanites did gather themselves together to sing, and to <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/20?lang=eng dance], and to make themselves merry.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>2</span>  事情是這樣的，有一天，她們少數幾個人聚在一起唱歌跳舞。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>2</span> And it came to pass that there was one day a small number of them gathered together to sing and to dance.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>3</span>  挪亞王的祭司無顏回到尼腓城，是的，又怕人民殺了他們，所以不敢回到他們的妻子和他們的兒女身邊。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>3</span> And now the priests of king Noah, being ashamed to return to the city of Nephi, yea, and also fearing that the people would <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/20?lang=eng slay]them, therefore they durst not return to their wives and their<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/20?lang=eng children].</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>4</span>  他們留在曠野，發現了拉曼人的女兒，便俯伏窺伺。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>4</span> And having tarried in the wilderness, and having discovered the daughters of the Lamanites, they laid and watched them;</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>5</span>  她們只有幾個人聚在一起跳舞時，他們就從藏身的地方出來，捉住她們，把她們帶進曠野；是的，他們共帶了二十四個拉曼人的女兒進入曠野。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>5</span> And when there were but few of them gathered together to dance, they came forth out of their secret places and took them and carried them into the wilderness; yea, twenty and four of the<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/20?lang=eng daughters] of the Lamanites they carried into the wilderness.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>6</span>  事情是這樣的，拉曼人發現他們的女兒失蹤了，以為是林海的人民擄走的，就非常惱怒林海的人民。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>6</span> And it came to pass that when the Lamanites found that their daughters had been missing, they were angry with the people of Limhi, for they thought it was the people of Limhi.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>7</span>  於是他們派出軍隊，是的，國王甚至親自走在他的人民前面；他們上到尼腓地，想消滅林海的人民。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>7</span> Therefore they sent their armies forth; yea, even the king himself went before his people; and they went up to the land of Nephi to destroy the people of Limhi.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>8</span>  林海在塔上發現他們，發現他們為作戰所準備的一切，因此他召集人民，在田間和樹林裡埋伏等候。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>8</span> And now Limhi had discovered them from the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/20?lang=eng tower], even all their preparations for war did he discover; therefore he gathered his people together, and laid wait for them in the fields and in the forests.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>9</span>  事情是這樣的，等拉曼人一到，林海的人民就開始從等候的地方出來攻擊他們，開始殺他們。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>9</span> And it came to pass that when the Lamanites had come up, that the people of Limhi began to fall upon them from their waiting places, and began to slay them.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>10</span> And it came to pass that the battle became exceedingly sore, for they fought like lions for their prey.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>11</span> And it came to pass that the people of Limhi began to drive the Lamanites before them; yet they were not half so numerous as the Lamanites. But they <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/20?lang=eng fought] for their lives, and for their <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/20?lang=eng wives], and for their children; therefore they exerted themselves and like dragons did they fight.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>12</span>  事情是這樣的，他們在死去的人中發現拉曼人的國王；他還沒有死，只是受傷被棄在地上；他的人民已倉皇逃走。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>12</span> And it came to pass that they found the king of the Lamanites among the number of their dead; yet he was not dead, having been wounded and left upon the ground, so speedy was the flight of his people.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>13</span>  他們捉住他，為他裹傷，把他帶到林海面前說：看啊，這就是拉曼人的國王，他受傷躺在死去的人當中，他們丟下他；看啊，我們把他帶到你面前，我們這就殺了他吧。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>13</span> And they took him and bound up his wounds, and brought him before Limhi, and said: Behold, here is the king of the Lamanites; he having received a wound has fallen among their dead, and they have left him; and behold, we have brought him before you; and now let us slay him.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>14</span>  林海對他們說：不可殺他，帶他來這裡，我好見他。於是他們把他帶來。林海對他說：你為何來與我的人民作戰？看啊，我的人民並未違反我與你立的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/20?lang=zho 誓約]；你為什麼違反你和我人民立的誓約呢？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>14</span> But Limhi said unto them: Ye shall not slay him, but bring him hither that I may see him. And they brought him. And Limhi said unto him: What cause have ye to come up to war against my people? Behold, my people have not broken the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/20?lang=eng oath] that I made unto you; therefore, why should ye break the oath which ye made unto my people?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>15</span>  王說：我違反誓約是因為你的人民擄走了我人民的女兒；所以我在憤怒中召集人民與你的人民作戰。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>15</span> And now the king said: I have broken the oath because thy people did carry away the daughters of my people; therefore, in my anger I did cause my people to come up to war against thy people.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>16</span>  林海對這事一無所聞，便說：我會在人民當中搜查，誰做了這事，誰就該死。於是他派人在人民當中搜查。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>16</span> And now Limhi had heard nothing concerning this matter; therefore he said: I will search among my people and whosoever has done this thing shall perish. Therefore he caused a search to be made among his people.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>17</span>  <sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/20?lang=zho 基甸]是王的隊長，聽到這些事，便上前對王說：請王不要這麼做，不要搜查這人民，不要把這事歸咎他們。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>17</span> Now when <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/20?lang=eng Gideon] had heard these things, he being the king’s captain, he went forth and said unto the king: I pray thee forbear, and do not search this people, and lay not this thing to their charge.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>18</span>  難道你不記得你父親的祭司嗎？就是這人民一直想消滅的那些祭司，他們不是在曠野中嗎？他們不就是擄走拉曼人女兒的人嗎？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>18</span> For do ye not remember the priests of thy father, whom this people sought to destroy? And are they not in the wilderness? And are not they the ones who have stolen the daughters of the Lamanites?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>19</span>  現在看啊，告訴拉曼王這些事吧，讓他告訴他的人民，好平息他們對我們的怒氣；因為看啊，他們正準備來攻擊我們；你看我們只有這些人。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>19</span> And now, behold, and tell the king of these things, that he may tell his people that they may be pacified towards us; for behold they are already preparing to come against us; and behold also there are but few of us.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>20</span>  看啊，他們派大軍前來；除非拉曼王平息他們對我們的怒氣，否則我們必然滅亡。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>20</span> And behold, they come with their numerous hosts; and except the king doth pacify them towards us we must perish.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>21</span>  阿賓納代所說不利我們的預言不正<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/20?lang=zho 應驗]了嗎？這一切不都是由於我們不肯聽主的話，不肯離棄我們的罪惡嗎？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>21</span> For are not the words of Abinadi <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/20?lang=eng fulfilled], which he prophesied against us—and all this because we would not hearken unto the words of the Lord, and turn from our iniquities?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>22</span>  現在，讓我們安撫國王，履行我們與他立的誓約，因為被奴役總比喪命來得好；因此讓我們停止這麼嚴重的流血事件吧。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>22</span> And now let us pacify the king, and we fulfil the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/20?lang=eng oath] which we have made unto him; for it is better that we should be in bondage than that we should lose our <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/20?lang=eng lives]; therefore, let us put a stop to the shedding of so much blood.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>23</span>  林海就把所有關於他父親的事都告訴國王，並且提到逃進曠野的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/20?lang=zho 祭司]，把擄走他們女兒的事歸咎給他們。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>23</span> And now Limhi told the king all the things concerning his father, and the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/20?lang=eng priests] that had fled into the wilderness, and attributed the carrying away of their daughters to them.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>24</span>  事情是這樣的，國王對他人民的怒氣平息了，他對他們說：我們不帶武器，一起去見我的人民；我向你發誓，我的人民一定不會殺害你的人民。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>24</span> And it came to pass that the king was pacified towards his people; and he said unto them: Let us go forth to meet my people, without arms; and I swear unto you with an <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/20?lang=eng oath] that my people shall not slay thy people.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>25</span>  事情是這樣的，於是，他們不帶武器，跟著國王去見拉曼人。事情是這樣的，他們見到拉曼人，拉曼人的國王向他們屈身，替林海的人民求情。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>25</span> And it came to pass that they followed the king, and went forth without arms to meet the Lamanites. And it came to pass that they did meet the Lamanites; and the king of the Lamanites did bow himself down before them, and did plead in behalf of the people of Limhi.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>26</span>  拉曼人看到林海的人民未帶武器，就<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/20?lang=zho 憐憫]他們，怒氣也平息了，便和他們的國王和平地返回自己的土地。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>26</span> And when the Lamanites saw the people of Limhi, that they were without arms, they had <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/mosiah/20?lang=eng compassion] on them and were pacified towards them, and returned with their king in peace to their own land.</p>
