<p class='english'>The Lamanites destroy the people of Ammonihah—Zoram leads the Nephites to victory over the Lamanites—Alma and Amulek and many others preach the word—They teach that after his resurrection Christ will appear to the Nephites. About 81–77 B.C.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>1</span> 事情是這樣的，法官統治尼腓人的第十一年的第二個月的第五日，柴雷罕拉地甚是安定，好幾年沒有戰事，也沒有紛爭，直到第十一年的第二個月的第五日，到處都可聽到戰爭的呼聲。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>1</span> And it came to pass in the eleventh year of the reign of the judges over the people of Nephi, on the fifth day of the second month, there having been much peace in the land of Zarahemla, there having been no wars nor contentions for a certain number of years, even until the fifth day of the second month in the eleventh year, there was a cry of war heard throughout the land.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>2</span> 因為看啊，拉曼軍隊來到曠野邊，進入邊境，進到<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/16/2a 艾蒙乃哈]城，開始殺戮人民，毀壞城市。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>2</span> For behold, the armies of the Lamanites had come in upon the wilderness side, into the borders of the land, even into the city of<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng Ammonihah], and began to slay the people and destroy the city.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>3</span> And now it came to pass, before the Nephites could raise a sufficient army to drive them out of the land, they had <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng destroyed]the people who were in the city of Ammonihah, and also some around the borders of Noah, and taken others captive into the wilderness.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>4</span> Now it came to pass that the Nephites were desirous to obtain those who had been carried away captive into the wilderness.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>5</span> Therefore, he that had been appointed chief captain over the armies of the Nephites, (and his name was Zoram, and he had two sons, Lehi and Aha)—now Zoram and his two sons, knowing that Alma was high priest over the church, and having heard that he had the spirit of prophecy, therefore they went unto him and desired of him to know whither the Lord would that they should go into the wilderness in search of their brethren, who had been taken captive by the Lamanites.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>6</span> And it came to pass that Alma <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng inquired] of the Lord concerning the matter. And Alma returned and said unto them: Behold, the Lamanites will cross the river Sidon in the south wilderness, away up beyond the borders of the land of <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng Manti]. And behold there shall ye meet them, on the east of the river Sidon, and there the Lord will deliver unto thee thy brethren who have been taken captive by the Lamanites.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>7</span> 事情是這樣的，卓倫和他的兒子率軍渡過西頓河，行軍遠離曼泰邊境，進入南部曠野，到西頓河東邊。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>7</span> And it came to pass that Zoram and his sons crossed over the river Sidon, with their armies, and marched away beyond the borders of Manti into the south wilderness, which was on the east side of the river Sidon.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>8</span> 他們突襲拉曼軍隊，拉曼人潰散，被驅逐到曠野裡；他們救回被拉曼人擄走的弟兄，被擄走的人一個也沒有少，他們被弟兄帶回，去擁有自己的土地。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>8</span> And they came upon the armies of the Lamanites, and the Lamanites were scattered and driven into the wilderness; and they took their brethren who had been taken captive by the Lamanites, and there was not one soul of them had been lost that were taken captive. And they were brought by their brethren to possess their own lands.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>9</span> And thus ended the eleventh year of the judges, the Lamanites having been driven out of the land, and the people of Ammonihah were <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng destroyed]; yea, <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng every] living soul of the Ammonihahites was <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng destroyed], and also their <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng great] city, which they said God could not destroy, because of its greatness.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>10</span> 但是看啊，這座城卻在<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/16/10a 一]日之間成了廢墟；屍體被狗和曠野來的野獸扯得不成樣子。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>10</span> But behold, in <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng one] day it was left desolate; and the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng carcasses]were mangled by dogs and wild beasts of the wilderness.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>11</span> 很多天以後，他們的屍體被堆在地面上，被一層薄薄的東西蓋住。那裡臭氣沖天，多年來無人去那裡佔有艾蒙乃哈地，那裡被人稱為尼賀廢墟；那些被殺的人都是<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/16/11a 尼賀]教派的；他們的土地仍然荒蕪。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>11</span> Nevertheless, after many days their <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng dead] bodies were heaped up upon the face of the earth, and they were covered with a shallow covering. And now so great was the scent thereof that the people did not go in to possess the land of Ammonihah for many years. And it was called Desolation of <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng Nehors]; for they were of the profession of Nehor, who were slain; and their lands remained desolate.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>12</span> 法官統治尼腓人的第十四年以前，拉曼人沒有再來向尼腓人討戰，所以尼腓人在各地有持續三年的和平。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>12</span> And the Lamanites did not come again to war against the Nephites until the fourteenth year of the reign of the judges over the people of Nephi. And thus for three years did the people of Nephi have continual peace in all the land.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>13</span> And Alma and Amulek went forth preaching repentance to the people in their <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng temples], and in their <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng sanctuaries], and also in their <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng synagogues], which were built after the manner of the Jews.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>14</span> 凡是願意聽他們講話的，他們都<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/16/14a 一視同仁]，不斷地把神的話告訴他們。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>14</span> And as many as would hear their words, unto them they did impart the word of God, without any <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng respect] of persons, continually.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>15</span> 阿爾瑪、艾繆萊克，以及其他許多蒙揀選擔任這事工的人，就這樣到各地傳講神的話。教會在這地，在周圍所有地區，在尼腓人之中普遍設立。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>15</span> And thus did Alma and Amulek go forth, and also many more who had been chosen for the work, to preach the word throughout all the land. And the establishment of the church became general throughout the land, in all the region round about, among all the people of the Nephites.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>16</span> And there was <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng no] inequality among them; the Lord did pour out his Spirit on all the face of the land to prepare the minds of the children of men, or to prepare their <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng hearts] to receive the word which should be taught among them at the time of his coming—</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>17</span> 好使他們不致硬著心反對神的話，不致不信而繼續走向毀滅，卻要叫他們歡喜領受神的話，如同接到真<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/16/17a 葡萄樹]上的<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/16/17b 枝子]，讓他們進入主他們的神的<sup class='chineseSup'>ｃ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/16/17c 安息]。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>17</span> That they might not be hardened against the word, that they might not be unbelieving, and go on to destruction, but that they might receive the word with joy, and as a <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng branch] be grafted into the true vine, that they might enter into the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng rest] of the Lord their God.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>18</span> 那些<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/16/18a 祭司]到人民中傳道，反對一切謊言、<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/16/18b 欺騙]、<sup class='chineseSup'>ｃ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/16/18c 嫉妒]、不和、怨恨、辱罵、偷竊、搶劫、掠奪、謀殺、姦淫，以及種種色情，他們大聲疾呼說這樣的事不應當存在──</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>18</span> Now those <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng priests] who did go forth among the people did preach against all <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng lyings], and <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng deceivings], and <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng envyings], and<sup class='englishSup'>e</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng strifes], and malice, and revilings, and stealing, robbing, plundering, murdering, committing adultery, and all manner of lasciviousness, crying that these things ought not so to be—</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>19</span> 他們宣講很快就要發生的事；是的，宣講神的兒子的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/16/19a 來臨]、受難、死亡，以及死人的復活。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>19</span> Holding forth things which must shortly come; yea, holding forth the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng coming] of the Son of God, his sufferings and death, and also the resurrection of the dead.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>20</span> 很多人詢問神的兒子來臨的地點；他們得知祂要在<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/16/20a 復活]後向他們<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/16/20b 顯現]；人民聽了都極為歡喜快樂。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>20</span> And many of the people did inquire concerning the place where the Son of God should come; and they were taught that he would <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng appear] unto them <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng after] his resurrection; and this the people did hear with great joy and gladness.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>21</span> And now after the church had been established throughout all the land—having got the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/16?lang=eng victory] over the devil, and the word of God being preached in its purity in all the land, and the Lord pouring out his blessings upon the people—thus ended the fourteenth year of the reign of the judges over the people of Nephi.</p>
