<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>5</span> 現在看啊，銅頁片如果保存下來，就必須保有其光澤；是的，它們會保有光澤，是的，凡記載神聖紀錄的頁片也都如此。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>5</span> And now behold, if they are kept they must retain their brightness; yea, and they will retain their brightness; yea, and also shall all the plates which do contain that which is holy writ.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>7</span> And the Lord God doth work by <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng means] to bring about his great and eternal purposes; and by very <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng small] means the Lord doth<sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng confound] the wise and bringeth about the salvation of many souls.</p>

<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>10</span> 說不定這紀錄會成為帶領成千上萬名拉曼人，是的，和成千上萬名現在在罪惡、不義中硬著心，而又倔強的弟兄尼腓人認識救贖主的工具。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>10</span> And who knoweth but what they will be the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng means] of bringing many thousands of them, yea, and also many thousands of our <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng stiffnecked] brethren, the Nephites, who are now hardening their hearts in sin and iniquities, to the knowledge of their Redeemer?</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>11</span> Now these mysteries are not yet fully made known unto me; therefore I shall forbear.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>12</span> And it may suffice if I only say they are preserved for a <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng wise]purpose, which purpose is known unto God; for he doth <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng counsel]in wisdom over all his works, and his paths are straight, and his course is <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng one] eternal round.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>13</span> 我兒希拉曼，切記，切記，神的誡命何其<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/37/13a 嚴格]。祂說過，<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/37/13b 如果]你們遵守我的誡命，你們必在這地<sup class='chineseSup'>ｃ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/37/13c 昌盛]──但是如果你們不遵守祂的誡命，你們必被剪除，與祂隔絕。</p>

And he said: <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng If] ye will keep my commandments ye shall <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng prosper] in the land—but if ye keep not his commandments ye shall be cut off from his presence.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>14</span> And now remember, my son, that God has <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng entrusted] you with these things, which are <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng sacred], which he has kept sacred, and also which he will keep and <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng preserve] for a <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng wise] purpose in him, that he may show forth his power unto future generations.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>15</span> 現在看啊，我藉著預言之靈告訴你，如果你違反神的誡命，看啊，神的大能必從你那裡取走這些神聖的東西，你必被交給撒但，讓他像在風前篩糠秕一樣篩你。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>15</span> And now behold, I tell you by the spirit of prophecy, that if ye transgress the commandments of God, behold, these things which are sacred shall be taken away from you by the power of God, and ye shall be delivered up unto Satan, that he may sift you as chaff before the wind.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>16</span> But if ye keep the commandments of God, and do with these things which are sacred according to that which the Lord doth command you, (for you must appeal unto the Lord for all things whatsoever ye must do with them) behold, no power of earth or hell can <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng take] them from you, for God is powerful to the fulfilling of all his words.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>17</span> 祂必實踐對你所作的一切承諾，因為祂實踐了對我們祖先所作的一切承諾。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>17</span> For he will fulfil all his <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng promises] which he shall make unto you, for he has fulfilled his promises which he has made unto our fathers.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>19</span> And now behold, one purpose hath he fulfilled, even to the restoration of <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng many] thousands of the Lamanites to the knowledge of the truth; and he hath shown forth his power in them, and he will also still show forth his power in them unto<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng future] generations; therefore they shall be preserved.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>20</span> 因此，我兒希拉曼，我命令你要努力做到我所說的，努力遵行其中記載的神的誡命。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>20</span> Therefore I command you, my son Helaman, that ye be diligent in fulfilling all my words, and that ye be diligent in keeping the commandments of God as they are written.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>21</span> And now, I will speak unto you concerning those <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng twenty]-four plates, that ye keep them, that the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng mysteries] and the works of darkness, and their secret works, or the secret works of those people who have been destroyed, may be made <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng manifest] unto this people; yea, all their murders, and robbings, and their plunderings, and all their wickedness and abominations, may be made manifest unto this people; yea, and that ye preserve these<sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng interpreters].</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>22</span> 因為看啊，主看到祂的人民開始在黑暗中行事，是的，從事陰謀暗殺及各種憎行，因此，主說，如果他們不悔改，他們必從地面上滅亡。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>22</span> For behold, the Lord saw that his people began to work in darkness, yea, work secret murders and abominations; therefore the Lord said, if they did not repent they should be destroyed from off the face of the earth.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>23</span> And the Lord said: I will prepare unto my servant Gazelem, a<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng stone], which shall shine forth in darkness unto light, that I may<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng discover] unto my people who serve me, that I may discover unto them the works of their brethren, yea, their secret works, their works of darkness, and their wickedness and abominations.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>24</span> 我兒，這些譯具是為應驗神的話而預備的，祂說：</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>24</span> And now, my son, these <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng interpreters] were prepared that the word of God might be fulfilled, which he spake, saying:</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>25</span> I will <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng bring] forth out of darkness unto light all their secret works and their abominations; and except they repent I will<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng destroy] them from off the face of the earth; and I will bring to light all their secrets and abominations, unto every nation that shall hereafter possess the land.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>26</span> 我兒，我們都知道他們並沒有悔改，所以他們已滅亡，神的話至此已應驗；是的，他們的祕密憎行均已被揭露，讓我們知道了。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>26</span> And now, my son, we see that they did not repent; therefore they have been destroyed, and thus far the word of God has been fulfilled; yea, their <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng secret] abominations have been brought out of darkness and made known unto us.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>27</span> 我兒，我命令你保留他們祕密憎行中的一切誓約、盟約和協議，是的，還有他們一切的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/37/27a 暗號]和奇事，都不要讓這人民知道，不叫這人民知道這些事，以免萬一他們也陷入黑暗而遭毀滅。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>27</span> And now, my son, I command you that ye retain all their oaths, and their covenants, and their agreements in their secret abominations; yea, and all their <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng signs] and their wonders ye shall<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng keep] from this people, that they know them not, lest peradventure they should fall into darkness also and be destroyed.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>32</span> And now, my son, remember the words which I have spoken unto you; trust not those secret plans unto this people, but teach them an everlasting <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng hatred] against sin and iniquity.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>33</span> <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng Preach] unto them repentance, and faith on the Lord Jesus Christ; teach them to humble themselves and to be <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng meek] and lowly in heart; teach them to <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng withstand] every <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng temptation] of the devil, with their faith on the Lord Jesus Christ.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>34</span> 教他們決不可厭倦行善，卻要心裡溫順謙卑；因為這樣做的人，靈魂必得享<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/37/34a 安息]。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>34</span> Teach them to never be weary of good works, but to be meek and lowly in heart; for such shall find <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng rest] to their souls.</p>

<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>38</span> 我兒，我要說一些關於我們祖先稱之為圓球或導向器的事──我們的祖先稱之為<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/37/38a 利阿賀拿]，翻譯出來就是羅盤；那是主預備的。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>38</span> And now, my son, I have somewhat to say concerning the thing which our fathers call a ball, or director—or our fathers called it <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng Liahona], which is, being interpreted, a compass; and the Lord prepared it.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>39</span> 看啊，沒有人能做出那麼精緻的工藝。看啊，那是預備來指示我們祖先在曠野中行進的路線。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>39</span> And behold, there cannot any man work after the manner of so curious a workmanship. And behold, it was prepared to show unto our fathers the course which they should travel in the wilderness.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>40</span> 這羅盤按照他們對神的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/37/40a 信心]而為他們運作；因此，如果他們有信心，相信神會讓那些指針指出他們應當走的路，看啊，指針就指示；因此他們曾有這奇蹟，以及每天由神的大能而行的許多其他奇蹟。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>40</span> And it did work for them according to their <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng faith] in God; therefore, if they had faith to believe that God could cause that those spindles should point the way they should go, behold, it was done; therefore they had this miracle, and also many other miracles wrought by the power of God, day by day.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>41</span> 然而因為那些奇蹟由<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/37/41a 微小]的方法做成，羅盤向他們顯明了奇妙的事工。他們很懶惰，忘了運用信心，也不努力，於是那些奇妙的事工便停止，他們的旅程也沒有進展；</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>41</span> Nevertheless, because those miracles were worked by <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng small]means it did show unto them marvelous works. They were<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng slothful], and forgot to exercise their faith and diligence and then those marvelous works ceased, and they did not progress in their journey;</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>42</span> 因此，他們在曠野中滯留，或說未以最直接的路線行進，他們也因犯罪而遭受飢渴之苦。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>42</span> Therefore, they tarried in the wilderness, or did <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng not] travel a direct course, and were afflicted with hunger and thirst, because of their transgressions.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>43</span> 我兒，我希望你明白這些事並非沒有預兆的；我們的祖先懶得留意這羅盤（這些事是屬世的），他們並不昌盛；就屬靈的事而言，也是如此。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>43</span> And now, my son, I would that ye should understand that these things are not without a <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng shadow]; for as our fathers were slothful to give heed to this compass (now these things were temporal) they did not prosper; even so it is with things which are spiritual.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>44</span> 因為看啊，要留意<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/37/44a 基督]的話很容易，基督的話能指引你通往永恆幸福的直路，就像我們的祖先留意這羅盤一樣容易，這羅盤指出通往應許地的直路。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>44</span> For behold, it is as easy to give heed to the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng word] of Christ, which will point to you a straight course to eternal bliss, as it was for our fathers to give heed to this compass, which would point unto them a straight course to the promised land.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>45</span> 我要說，這件事不是有個象徵嗎？確實就像我們的祖先跟隨導向器所指示的途徑，導向器就能帶他們到應許地一樣，只要我們跟隨基督的話所指示的途徑，基督的話就能帶我們越過憂傷之谷，到達一個更好的應許地。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>45</span> And now I say, is there not a <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng type] in this thing? For just as surely as this director did bring our fathers, by following its course, to the promised land, shall the words of Christ, if we follow their course, carry us beyond this vale of sorrow into a far better land of promise.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>46</span> 我兒，我們不要因為<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/37/46a 方法]簡單而變得<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/37/46b 懶惰]，因為我們的祖先就是這樣；只要他們看了，他們就能<sup class='chineseSup'>ｃ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/37/46c 活著]，那是為他們預備的方法；對我們來說，也是如此。方法已經預備好了，只要我們看了，我們就能永遠活著。</p>

The way is prepared, and if we will look we may live forever.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>47</span> 我兒，注意照顧這些神聖的東西；是的，注意仰望神而活。到人民那裡宣講這些話，要認真。我兒，再會吧。</p>
