<p class='chinese'>今生是受驗證的時期，世人得以悔改並事奉神──墜落為全人類帶來屬世和屬靈的死亡──藉悔改而得救贖──神親自贖了世人的罪──慈悲只施予悔改的人──其他人都要臣服於神的公道──慈悲因贖罪而來──唯有真正悔改的人才能得救。約主前七四年。</p>
<p class='english'>Mortality is a probationary time to enable man to repent and serve God—The Fall brought temporal and spiritual death upon all mankind—Redemption comes through repentance—God himself atones for the sins of the world—Mercy is for those who repent—All others are subject to God’s justice—Mercy comes because of the Atonement—Only the truly penitent are saved. About 74 B.C.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>1</span> 我兒，我看得出來，還有些你不明白的事困擾你的心──就是神的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/1a 公道]懲罰罪人的事，因為你一直以為把罪人交到悲慘的狀態中是不公平的。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>1</span> And now, my son, I perceive there is somewhat more which doth worry your mind, which ye cannot understand—which is concerning the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng justice] of God in the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng punishment] of the sinner; for ye do try to suppose that it is <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng injustice] that the sinner should be consigned to a state of misery.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>2</span> Now behold, my son, I will explain this thing unto thee. For behold, after the Lord God sent our first parents forth from the garden of <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng Eden], to till the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng ground], from whence they were taken—yea, he drew out the man, and he placed at the east end of the garden of Eden, <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng cherubim], and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the tree of life—</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>3</span> 我們知道，那人已變得和神一樣，能知道善惡，主神恐怕他伸手又摘食生命樹上的果子，而永遠活著，就安設了基路伯和發火燄的劍，使他不能摘食那果子──</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>3</span> Now, we see that the man had become as God, knowing good and evil; and lest he should put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat and live forever, the Lord God placed<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng cherubim] and the flaming sword, that he should not partake of the fruit—</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>4</span> 由此可知，有一段時期賜給了世人，讓他們悔改；是的，一段<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/4a 受]驗證的時期，一段悔改並事奉神的時期。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>4</span> And thus we see, that there was a <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng time] granted unto man to repent, yea, a <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng probationary] time, a time to repent and serve God.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>5</span> 看啊，如果亞當立刻伸手摘食生命樹，按照神的話，他就會永遠活著而沒有悔改的時間；是的，神的話也會因此成了空話，偉大的救恩計畫也會遭到破壞。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>5</span> For behold, if Adam had put forth his hand immediately, and<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng partaken] of the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng tree] of life, he would have lived forever, according to the word of God, having no space for repentance; yea, and also the word of God would have been void, and the great plan of salvation would have been frustrated.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>6</span> 但是看啊，世人已被指定要<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/6a 死]──因此，正如他們與生命樹隔絕一樣，他們必從地面上剪除──世人已永遠迷失，是的，成為<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/6b 墜落]之人。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>6</span> But behold, it was appointed unto man to <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng die]—therefore, as they were cut off from the tree of life they should be cut off from the face of the earth—and man became <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng lost] forever, yea, they became <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng fallen] man.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>7</span> 你由此可知，我們的第一對祖先已在屬世與屬靈兩方面被<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/7a 剪除]，與主隔絕；我們因此知道，他們已臣服於自己的<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/7b 意志]。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>7</span> And now, ye see by this that our first parents were <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng cut] off both temporally and spiritually from the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng presence] of the Lord; and thus we see they became subjects to follow after their own <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng will].</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>8</span> 現在看啊，救世人脫離這屬世的死亡是不合宜的，因為那樣會破壞偉大的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/8a 幸福]計畫。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>8</span> Now behold, it was not expedient that man should be reclaimed from this <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng temporal] death, for that would destroy the great <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng plan] of happiness.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>9</span> 所以，既然靈魂永遠不死，而那<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/9a 墜落]使全人類遭受屬世和屬靈的死亡，這就是說他們已被剪除，與主隔絕，那麼，就必須把人類從這屬靈的死亡中救出。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>9</span> Therefore, as the soul could never die, and the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng fall] had brought upon all mankind a spiritual <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng death] as well as a temporal, that is, they were cut off from the presence of the Lord, it was expedient that mankind should be reclaimed from this spiritual death.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>10</span> 所以，基於<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/10a 本性]，他們既已變為<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/10b 俗]慾、肉慾、魔鬼似的，這<sup class='chineseSup'>ｃ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/10c 受]驗證的階段就成了讓他們準備的階段，成了一個預備的階段。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>10</span> Therefore, as they had become <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng carnal], sensual, and devilish, by <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng nature], this <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng probationary] state became a state for them to prepare; it became a preparatory state.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>11</span> 我兒，記住，要是沒有那救贖計畫（如果這計畫被擱置了），那麼，他們一死，靈魂就<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/11a 悲慘]了，因為他們已被剪除，與主隔絕。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>11</span> And now remember, my son, if it were not for the plan of redemption, (laying it aside) as soon as they were dead their souls were <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng miserable], being cut off from the presence of the Lord.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>12</span> 要把世人從這墜落的狀態中救出是不可能的，這是世人因自己的不服從而造成的；</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>12</span> And now, there was no means to reclaim men from this fallen state, which <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng man] had brought upon himself because of his own<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng disobedience];</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>13</span> 所以，按照公道，除非世人在這受驗證的階段，是的，在這準備的階段<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/13a 悔改]，否則<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/13b 救贖]計畫就無法完成；除非有這些條件，慈悲就無法生效，除非讓慈悲破壞公道的工作。公道的工作是不容破壞的；如果破壞了，神就<sup class='chineseSup'>ｃ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/13c 不再]是神了。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>13</span> Therefore, according to justice, the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng plan] of <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng redemption] could not be brought about, only on conditions of repentance of men in this probationary state, yea, this preparatory state; for except it were for these conditions, mercy could not take effect except it should destroy the work of justice. Now the work of justice could not be destroyed; if so, God would <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng cease] to be God.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>14</span> 由此可知，全人類都已<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/14a 墜落]，並且都在<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/14b 公道]的掌握中；是的，神的公道判定他們永遠被剪除，與祂隔絕。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>14</span> And thus we see that all mankind were <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng fallen], and they were in the grasp of <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng justice]; yea, the justice of God, which consigned them forever to be cut off from his presence.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>15</span> 除非完成贖罪，否則慈悲的計畫就無法完成；所以神親自<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/15a 贖]了世人的罪，以促成<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/15b 慈悲]的計畫，滿足了<sup class='chineseSup'>ｃ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/15c 公道]的要求，使神成為<sup class='chineseSup'>ｄ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/15d 完全]、公正又慈悲的神。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>15</span> And now, the plan of mercy could not be brought about except an atonement should be made; therefore God himself <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng atoneth]for the sins of the world, to bring about the plan of <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng mercy], to appease the demands of <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng justice], that God might be a <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng perfect], just God, and a <sup class='englishSup'>e</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng merciful] God also.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>16</span> 然而，除非有懲罰，否則悔改就不能臨到世人，那懲罰與靈魂的生命一樣<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/16a 永恆]，而且與幸福的計畫對立，幸福的計畫也是與靈魂的生命一樣永恆的。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>16</span> Now, repentance could not come unto men except there were a <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng punishment], which also was <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng eternal] as the life of the soul should be, affixed <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng opposite] to the plan of happiness, which was as <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng eternal] also as the life of the soul.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>17</span> 若不<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/17a 犯罪]，人怎能悔改？若無<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/17b 律法]，人怎能犯罪？若無懲罰，怎能有律法？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>17</span> Now, how could a man repent except he should <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng sin]? How could he sin if there was no <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng law]? How could there be a law save there was a punishment?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>18</span> 懲罰已附上，公道的律法已頒佈，因而將<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/18a 良心]的責備帶給世人。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>18</span> Now, there was a punishment affixed, and a just law given, which brought remorse of <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng conscience] unto man.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>19</span> 若不頒佈律法──<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/19a 殺人者]死──人會害怕殺了人要償命嗎？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>19</span> Now, if there was no law given—if a man <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng murdered] he should<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng die]—would he be afraid he would die if he should murder?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>20</span> 而且，若不頒佈治罪的律法，世人就不怕犯罪。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>20</span> And also, if there was no law given against sin men would not be afraid to sin.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>21</span> <sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/21a 若]不頒佈律法，世人一旦犯罪，公道能怎樣？慈悲又能怎樣？因為兩者都無權要求得到世人。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>21</span> And if there was <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng no] law given, if men sinned what could justice do, or mercy either, for they would have no claim upon the creature?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>22</span> 但是律法已頒佈，懲罰已附上，<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/22a 悔改]已賜予；那悔改是慈悲要求的，否則公道就有權要求對世人執法，執法的結果就是懲罰；要不然，公道的工作就被破壞，神也不再是神了。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>22</span> But there is a law given, and a <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng punishment] affixed, and a<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng repentance] granted; which repentance, mercy claimeth; otherwise, justice claimeth the creature and executeth the <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng law], and the law inflicteth the punishment; if not so, the works of justice would be destroyed, and God would cease to be God.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>23</span> 但是神還是神，<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/23a 慈悲]要求赦免悔改的人，慈悲因<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/23b 贖罪]而來；贖罪促成死人的<sup class='chineseSup'>ｃ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/23c 復活]，而死人的復活將世人<sup class='chineseSup'>ｄ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/23d 帶回]神的面前；世人就這樣回到神的面前，根據律法和公道，按照他們的行為接受<sup class='chineseSup'>ｅ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/23e 審判]。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>23</span> But God ceaseth not to be God, and <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng mercy] claimeth the penitent, and mercy cometh because of the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng atonement]; and the atonement bringeth to pass the <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng resurrection] of the dead; and the<sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng resurrection] of the dead bringeth <sup class='englishSup'>e</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng back] men into the presence of God; and thus they are restored into his presence, to be <sup class='englishSup'>f</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng judged]according to their works, according to the law and justice.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>24</span> 看啊，公道提出他的一切要求，慈悲也要求一切屬於她的；所以，唯有真正悔改的人才能得救。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>24</span> For behold, justice exerciseth all his demands, and also<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng mercy] claimeth all which is her own; and thus, none but the truly penitent are saved.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>25</span> 你以為慈悲能剝奪<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/25a 公道]嗎？我告訴你，不能，一點也不能。如果能，神就不再是神了。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>25</span> What, do ye suppose that <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng mercy] can rob <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng justice]? I say unto you, Nay; not one whit. If so, God would cease to be God.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>26</span> 因此神達成祂偉大而永恆的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/26a 目的]；這目的<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/26b 從]世界奠基時就已預備好了。因此促成了世人的救恩與救贖，也促成了他們的毀滅與悲慘。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>26</span> And thus God bringeth about his great and eternal <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng purposes], which were prepared <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng from] the foundation of the world. And thus cometh about the salvation and the redemption of men, and also their destruction and misery.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>27</span> 因此，我兒啊，<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/27a 凡]願意來的，都可以隨意來喝那生命之水；不願意來的，也不勉強他來；但是到末日，必按照各人的<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/27b 行為]<sup class='chineseSup'>ｃ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/27c 回復]到各人身上。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>27</span> Therefore, O my son, <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng whosoever] will come may come and partake of the waters of life freely; and whosoever will not come the same is not compelled to come; but in the last day it shall be<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng restored] unto him according to his <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng deeds].</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>28</span> If he has desired to do <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng evil], and has not repented in his days, behold, evil shall be done unto him, according to the restoration of God.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>29</span> 我兒，我希望你別再為這些事苦惱，只為你的罪苦惱，那苦惱必能使你悔改。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>29</span> And now, my son, I desire that ye should let these things<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng trouble] you no more, and only let your sins trouble you, with that trouble which shall bring you down unto repentance.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>30</span> 我兒啊，我希望你不要再否認神的公道，一點也不要企圖以否認神的公道來為你的罪找藉口；卻要讓神的公道、慈悲與恆久忍耐，在你心中有十足的影響力，讓這影響力使你謙抑自己，<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/42/30a 卑]如塵土。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>30</span> O my son, I desire that ye should deny the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng justice] of God no more. Do not endeavor to excuse yourself in the least point because of your sins, by denying the justice of God; but do you let the justice of God, and his <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng mercy], and his long-suffering have full sway in your heart; and let it bring you down to the dust in<sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng humility].</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>31</span> 我兒啊，你蒙神召喚向這人民傳道。現在，我兒，去吧，真誠而認真地宣講神的話，使你能帶領靈魂悔改，好使偉大的慈悲計畫能拯救他們。願神照我的話成全你。阿們。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>31</span> And now, O my son, ye are called of God to <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng preach] the word unto this people. And now, my son, go thy way, declare the word with truth and soberness, that thou mayest <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng bring] souls unto repentance, that the great plan of mercy may have claim upon them. And may God grant unto you even according to my words. Amen.</p>
