<p class='chinese'>世人要獲得救恩就必須悔改、遵守誡命、重生、藉基督的血滌淨自己的衣服、謙卑、除去驕傲和嫉妒、做正義的事──好牧人呼喚祂的人民──凡做惡事的是魔鬼的兒女──阿爾瑪見證其教義之真實並命令世人悔改──義人的名字會登記在生命冊。約主前八三年。</p>
<p class='english'>To gain salvation, men must repent and keep the commandments, be born again, cleanse their garments through the blood of Christ, be humble and strip themselves of pride and envy, and do the works of righteousness—The Good Shepherd calls his people—Those who do evil works are children of the devil—Alma testifies of the truth of his doctrine and commands men to repent—The names of the righteous will be written in the book of life. About 83 B.C.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>3</span> I, Alma, having been <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng consecrated] by my father, Alma, to be a<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng high] priest over the church of God, he having power and<sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng authority] from God to do these things, behold, I say unto you that he began to establish a church in the <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng land] which was in the borders of Nephi; yea, the land which was called the land of Mormon; yea, and he did baptize his brethren in the waters of Mormon.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>5</span> And behold, after that, they were brought into <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng bondage] by the hands of the Lamanites in the wilderness; yea, I say unto you, they were in captivity, and again the Lord did deliver them out of<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng bondage] by the power of his word; and we were brought into this land, and here we began to establish the church of God throughout this land also.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>6</span> 現在看啊，你們屬於這教會的弟兄們，我告訴你們，你們是否牢記著祖先受奴役的事？是的，你們是否牢記著主對他們的慈悲與恆久忍耐？此外，你們是否牢記著祂從地獄中救出他們的靈魂？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>6</span> And now behold, I say unto you, my brethren, you that belong to this church, have you sufficiently retained in <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng remembrance]the captivity of your fathers? Yea, and have you sufficiently retained in remembrance his mercy and long-suffering towards them? And moreover, have ye sufficiently retained in remembrance that he has <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng delivered] their souls from hell?</p>

Behold, they were in the midst of darkness; nevertheless, their souls were illuminated by the light of the everlasting word; yea, they were encircled about by the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng bands] of death, and the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng chains] of hell, and an everlasting destruction did await them.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>8</span> 弟兄們，現在我問你們，他們被毀滅了嗎？看啊，我告訴你們，沒有，他們沒有被毀滅。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>8</span> And now I ask of you, my brethren, were they destroyed? Behold, I say unto you, Nay, they were not.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>9</span> And again I ask, were the bands of death broken, and the<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng chains] of hell which encircled them about, were they loosed? I say unto you, Yea, they were loosed, and their souls did expand, and they did <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng sing] redeeming love. And I say unto you that they are saved.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>10</span> 現在我問你們，他們是在什麼條件下<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/10a 得救]的？是的，他們憑什麼理由希望獲得救恩？他們為什麼能解脫死亡的枷鎖，是的，還有地獄的鎖鏈？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>10</span> And now I ask of you on what conditions are they <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng saved]? Yea, what grounds had they to hope for salvation? What is the cause of their being loosed from the bands of death, yea, and also the chains of hell?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>11</span> 看啊，我可以告訴你們，我父親阿爾瑪不是相信<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/11a 阿賓納代]口中傳講的話嗎？他不是神聖先知嗎？他不是說過神的話，而我父親阿爾瑪相信那些話嗎？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>11</span> Behold, I can tell you—did not my father Alma believe in the words which were delivered by the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng mouth] of Abinadi? And was he not a holy prophet? Did he not speak the words of God, and my father Alma believe them?</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>13</span> And behold, he <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng preached] the word unto your fathers, and a mighty change was also wrought in their hearts, and they humbled themselves and put their <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng trust] in the true and <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng living]God. And behold, they were faithful until the <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng end]; therefore they were saved.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>14</span> 現在看啊，教會中的弟兄們，我問你們，你們在屬靈方面是否已<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/14a 從]神而生？你們在容貌上是否蒙得了祂的形像？你們的心是否體驗過這種巨大的<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/14b 改變]？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>14</span> And now behold, I ask of you, my brethren of the church, have ye <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng spiritually] been <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng born] of God? Have ye received his image in your countenances? Have ye experienced this mighty <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng change] in your hearts?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>15</span> 你們對<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/15a 創造]你們的主的救贖運用了信心嗎？你們是否用信心之眼來期待，看到這必死的身體復活為不死，腐朽的<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/15b 復活]為不朽，站在神的面前，按照必死之身的所作所為接受<sup class='chineseSup'>ｃ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/15c 審判]？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>15</span> Do ye exercise faith in the redemption of him who <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng created]you? Do you look forward with an eye of faith, and view this mortal body raised in immortality, and this corruption <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng raised] in incorruption, to stand before God to be <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng judged] according to the deeds which have been done in the mortal body?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>16</span> 我告訴你們，你們能否想像自己在那天，聽到主的聲音對你們說：你們這些<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/16a 蒙]福的人，到我這裡來，因為看啊，你們在地面上做的是正義的事？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>16</span> I say unto you, can you imagine to yourselves that ye hear the voice of the Lord, saying unto you, in that day: Come unto me ye<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng blessed], for behold, your works have been the works of righteousness upon the face of the earth?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>17</span> 或者，你們以為自己能在那天向主撒謊<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/17a 說]：主啊，我們在地面上做的都是正義的事──而祂就會拯救你們嗎？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>17</span> Or do ye <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng imagine] to yourselves that ye can lie unto the Lord in that day, and <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng say]—Lord, our works have been righteous works upon the face of the earth—and that he will save you?</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>18</span> Or otherwise, can ye imagine yourselves brought before the tribunal of God with your souls filled with guilt and remorse, having a remembrance of all your guilt, yea, a perfect<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng remembrance] of all your wickedness, yea, a remembrance that ye have set at defiance the commandments of God?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>19</span> 我告訴你們，到那天，你們能手潔心清地仰望神嗎？我告訴你們，你們能在仰望神時，已在自己的容貌上刻上<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/19a 神]的形像嗎？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>19</span> I say unto you, can ye look up to God at that day with a pure heart and clean hands? I say unto you, can you look up, having the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng image] of God engraven upon your countenances?</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>20</span> I say unto you, can ye think of being saved when you have yielded yourselves to become <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng subjects] to the devil?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>21</span> 我告訴你們，到那天，你們必知道自己不能<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/21a 得救]；因為除了已把<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/21b 衣服]洗得潔白的人，沒有人能得救；是的，衣服上所有的污點都得靠我們祖先所說的，要來救贖祂人民脫離罪惡的那位的血來<sup class='chineseSup'>ｃ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/21c 洗滌]，直到潔淨為止。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>21</span> I say unto you, ye will know at that day that ye cannot be<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng saved]; for there can no man be saved except his <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng garments] are washed white; yea, his garments must be <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng purified] until they are cleansed from all stain, through the blood of him of whom it has been spoken by our fathers, who should come to redeem his people from their sins.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>22</span> 弟兄們，現在我問你們，將來你們站在神的審判欄前，衣服上若沾著<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/22a 血跡]和種種<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/22b 污穢]，你們會有什麼感覺？看啊，這些將證明你們什麼？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>22</span> And now I ask of you, my brethren, how will any of you feel, if ye shall stand before the bar of God, having your garments stained with <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng blood] and all manner of <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng filthiness]? Behold, what will these things testify against you?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>23</span> 看啊，這豈不<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/23a 證明]你們是兇手嗎？是的，不也證明你們犯了種種邪惡的罪行嗎？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>23</span> Behold will they not <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng testify] that ye are murderers, yea, and also that ye are <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng guilty] of all manner of wickedness?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>24</span> 看啊，弟兄們，你們以為這樣的人在神國中會有一席之地，可與那衣服洗得純淨潔白而毫無污點的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/24a 亞伯拉罕]、以撒、雅各及所有聖先知一同坐席嗎？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>24</span> Behold, my brethren, do ye suppose that such an one can have a place to sit down in the kingdom of God, with <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng Abraham], with Isaac, and with Jacob, and also all the holy prophets, whose garments are cleansed and are spotless, pure and white?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>25</span> 我告訴你們，不會的；除非你們當我們的創造主從一開始就是個騙子，或者認為祂從一開始就是個騙子，否則你們不會以為這樣的人在天國中有一席之地；這樣的人必被驅逐出去，因為他們是魔鬼國度的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/25a 兒女]。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>25</span> I say unto you, Nay; except ye make our Creator a liar from the beginning, or suppose that he is a liar from the beginning, ye cannot suppose that such can have place in the kingdom of heaven; but they shall be cast out for they are the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng children] of the kingdom of the devil.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>26</span> 現在看啊，我告訴你們，我的弟兄們，如果你們體驗過心的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/26a 變化]，如果你們曾覺得要唱<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/26b 救贖]之愛的歌，我要問，你們現在<sup class='chineseSup'>ｃ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/26c 還能]有這種感覺嗎？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>26</span> And now behold, I say unto you, my brethren, if ye have experienced a <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng change] of heart, and if ye have felt to sing the<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng song] of redeeming love, I would ask, <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng can] ye feel so now?</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>27</span> Have ye walked, keeping yourselves <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng blameless] before God? Could ye say, if ye were called to die at this time, within yourselves, that ye have been sufficiently <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng humble]? Behold, I testify unto you that I do know that these things whereof I have spoken are true. And how do ye suppose that I know of their surety?</p>

And now I do know of myself that they are true; for the Lord God hath made them manifest unto me by his Holy Spirit; and this is the spirit of<sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng revelation] which is in me.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>47</span> And moreover, I say unto you that it has thus been revealed unto me, that the words which have been spoken by our fathers are true, even so according to the spirit of prophecy which is in me, which is also by the manifestation of the Spirit of God.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>48</span> I say unto you, that I know of myself that whatsoever I shall say unto you, concerning that which is to come, is true; and I say unto you, that I know that Jesus Christ shall come, yea, the Son, the Only Begotten of the Father, full of grace, and mercy, and truth. And behold, it is he that cometh to take away the sins of the world, yea, the sins of every man who steadfastly believeth on his name.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>54</span> Yea, will ye persist in supposing that ye are better one than another; yea, will ye persist in the persecution of your brethren, who humble themselves and do walk after the holy order of God, wherewith they have been brought into this church, having been<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng sanctified] by the Holy Spirit, and they do bring forth works which are meet for repentance—</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>55</span> 是的，你們還要一直不理<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/55a 窮苦]貧困的人，不把你們的財物分給他們嗎？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>55</span> Yea, and will you persist in turning your backs upon the<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng poor], and the needy, and in withholding your substance from them?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>56</span> 最後，你們這些堅持作惡的人啊，我告訴你們，這樣的人若不趕快悔改，就要被砍下來丟在火裡。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>56</span> And finally, all ye that will persist in your wickedness, I say unto you that these are they who shall be hewn down and cast into the fire except they speedily repent.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>57</span> 我告訴你們，凡切望聽從<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/57a 好]牧人聲音的，要離開惡人，<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/57b 遠離]他們，不要碰他們不潔的東西；看啊，他們的名字必被<sup class='chineseSup'>ｃ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/57c 塗]掉，使惡人的名字必不得與義人的名字同列，以應驗神的話；神說：惡人的名字不得與我人民的名字混在一起；</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>57</span> And now I say unto you, all you that are desirous to follow the voice of the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng good] shepherd, come ye out from the wicked, and be ye <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng separate], and touch not their unclean things; and behold, their names shall be <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng blotted] out, that the names of the wicked shall not be numbered among the names of the righteous, that the word of God may be fulfilled, which saith: The names of the wicked shall not be mingled with the names of my people;</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>58</span> 因為義人的名字必登記在<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/58a 生命]冊上，我必將我右邊的產業賜給他。弟兄們，對於這一點，你們還有什麼話說？我告訴你們，就是你們說什麼反對的話，也沒有關係，因為神的話都必應驗。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>58</span> For the names of the righteous shall be written in the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng book]of life, and unto them will I grant an inheritance at my right hand. And now, my brethren, what have ye to say against this? I say unto you, if ye speak against it, it matters not, for the word of God must be fulfilled.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>59</span> 你們這些有很多羊，卻不加以看顧，以防止野狼來吞食羊群的，算什麼牧羊人呢？看啊，若野狼進入他的羊群，他會不把他趕走嗎？一定會的，最後，如果他能，他一定會殺了他的。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>59</span> For what shepherd is there among you having many sheep doth not watch over them, that the wolves enter not and devour his flock? And behold, if a wolf enter his <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng flock] doth he not drive him out? Yea, and at the last, if he can, he will destroy him.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>60</span> 我告訴你們，好牧人就在呼喚你們；如果你們肯聽從祂的聲音，祂會帶你們進入祂的羊圈，你們就是祂的羊了；然後，祂命令你們，不要讓餓狼進入你們之中，免得你們被毀滅。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>60</span> And now I say unto you that the good shepherd doth call after you; and if you will hearken unto his voice he will bring you into his fold, and ye are his sheep; and he commandeth you that ye suffer no ravenous wolf to enter among you, that ye may not be destroyed.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>61</span> 我阿爾瑪，用命令我的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/61a 那]一位講的話命令你們，你們要遵行我對你們講的話。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>61</span> And now I, Alma, do command you in the language of <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng him]who hath commanded me, that ye observe to do the words which I have spoken unto you.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>62</span> 我用命令的方式向你們這些屬於教會的人講話，至於那些不屬於教會的人，我要用邀請的方式說：來，接受悔改的洗禮，這樣，你們也可以吃<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/5/62a 生命樹]上的果子。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>62</span> I speak by way of command unto you that belong to the church; and unto those who do not belong to the church I speak by way of invitation, saying: Come and be baptized unto repentance, that ye also may be partakers of the fruit of the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/5?lang=eng tree]of life.</p>
