<p class='english'>Alma preaches and baptizes in Melek—He is rejected in Ammonihah and leaves—An angel commands him to return and cry repentance unto the people—He is received by Amulek, and the two of them preach in Ammonihah. About 82 B.C.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>1</span> And now it came to pass that Alma returned from the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng land] of Gideon, after having taught the people of Gideon many things which cannot be written, having established the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng order] of the church, according as he had before done in the land of Zarahemla, yea, he returned to his own house at Zarahemla to rest himself from the labors which he had performed.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>2</span> And thus ended the ninth year of the reign of the judges over the people of Nephi.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>4</span> And he began to teach the people in the land of Melek according to the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng holy] order of God, by which he had been called; and he began to teach the people throughout all the land of Melek.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>5</span> 事情是這樣的，靠近曠野的米勒克全境的民眾都來到他那裡。境內各地的人都受了洗；</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>5</span> And it came to pass that the people came to him throughout all the borders of the land which was by the wilderness side. And they were baptized throughout all the land;</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>6</span> So that when he had finished his work at Melek he departed thence, and traveled three days’ journey on the north of the land of Melek; and he came to a city which was called <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng Ammonihah].</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>8</span> And it came to pass that when Alma had come to the city of Ammonihah he began to preach the word of God unto them.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>10</span> Nevertheless Alma <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng labored] much in the spirit, <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng wrestling]with God in <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng mighty] prayer, that he would pour out his Spirit upon the people who were in the city; that he would also grant that he might baptize them unto repentance.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>11</span> 但他們仍硬起心來對他說：看啊，我們知道你是阿爾瑪；我們也知道你是教會的大祭司；這教會是你根據你們的傳統，在許多地方建立的；可是，我們不屬於你的教會，我們不相信這愚蠢的傳統。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>11</span> Nevertheless, they hardened their hearts, saying unto him: Behold, we know that thou art Alma; and we know that thou art high priest over the church which thou hast established in many parts of the land, according to your tradition; and we are not of thy church, and we do not believe in such foolish traditions.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>12</span> 我們知道，因為我們不屬於你的教會，你沒有權力管我們，況且你已把審判席交給<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/8/12a 尼腓哈]，所以你不是我們的首席法官。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>12</span> And now we know that because we are not of thy church we know that thou hast no power over us; and thou hast delivered up the judgment-seat unto <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng Nephihah]; therefore thou art not the chief judge over us.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>13</span> 人民說了這話，並且反對他所有的話，辱罵他，向他吐口水，要把他趕出城去時，他就離開那裡，啟程前往那稱為亞倫的城去。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>13</span> Now when the people had said this, and withstood all his words, and <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng reviled] him, and spit upon him, and caused that he should be <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng cast] out of their city, he departed thence and took his journey towards the city which was called Aaron.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>14</span> And it came to pass that while he was journeying thither, being weighed down with sorrow, wading through much<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng tribulation] and anguish of soul, because of the wickedness of the people who were in the city of Ammonihah, it came to pass while Alma was thus weighed down with sorrow, behold an <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng angel] of the Lord appeared unto him, saying:</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>15</span> 阿爾瑪，你有福了；所以，抬起頭來，歡喜快樂吧！你大可以歡喜快樂，因為自從你第一次蒙得神的信息以後，你便一直忠信地遵守祂的誡命。看啊，我就是當時<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/8/15a 傳信]息給你的那位。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>15</span> Blessed art thou, Alma; therefore, lift up thy head and rejoice, for thou hast great cause to rejoice; for thou hast been faithful in keeping the commandments of God from the time which thou receivedst thy first message from him. Behold, I am he that<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng delivered] it unto you.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>16</span> 看啊，我奉派來命令你回艾蒙乃哈城去，再向那城的人民傳道；是的，向他們傳道，是的，告訴他們，除非他們悔改，否則主神必<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/8/16a 毀滅]他們。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>16</span> And behold, I am sent to <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng command] thee that thou return to the city of Ammonihah, and preach again unto the people of the city; yea, preach unto them. Yea, say unto them, except they repent the Lord God will <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng destroy] them.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>17</span> 因為看啊，他們此時正在研究如何破壞你人民的自由，（因為主這樣說）這有違祂賜給人民的規章、法典和誡命。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>17</span> For behold, they do study at this time that they may destroy the liberty of thy people, (for thus saith the Lord) which is contrary to the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng statutes], and judgments, and commandments which he has given unto his people.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>18</span> 事情是這樣的，阿爾瑪蒙受主的天使帶來的信息後，就立即趕回艾蒙乃哈地。他走另一條路進城，是的，就是艾蒙乃哈城南邊的那條路。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>18</span> Now it came to pass that after Alma had received his message from the angel of the Lord he returned speedily to the land of Ammonihah. And he entered the city by another way, yea, by the way which is on the south of the city of Ammonihah.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>19</span> 他進城時，肚子很餓，就對一個人說：你願意給神卑微的僕人一些東西吃嗎？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>19</span> And as <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng he] entered the city he was an hungered, and he said to a man: Will ye give to an humble servant of God something to eat?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>20</span> 那人對他說：我是尼腓人，我知道你是神的聖先知，你就是<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/8/20a 天使]在異象中說「你要接待他」的那個人。所以，和我一起到我家去，我把我的食物分給你；我知道你會是我和我家的祝福。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>20</span> And the man said unto him: I am a Nephite, and I know that thou art a holy prophet of God, for thou art the man whom an<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng angel] said in a vision: Thou shalt receive. Therefore, go with me into my house and I will impart unto thee of my <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng food]; and I know that thou wilt be a blessing unto me and my house.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>21</span> 事情是這樣的，那人把他接到家裡去；那人叫作<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/8/21a 艾繆萊克]；他拿出麵包和肉，放在阿爾瑪面前。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>21</span> And it came to pass that the man received him into his house; and the man was called Amulek; and he brought forth bread and meat and set before Alma.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>23</span> And after he had eaten and was filled he said unto Amulek: I am Alma, and am the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng high] priest over the church of God throughout the land.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>24</span> 看啊，我被召喚憑啟示和預言之靈，向這全體人民宣講神的話；我來過這裡，他們不接受我，反而把我<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/alma/8/24a 趕出]去，我本想離開這裡，永不回來。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>24</span> And behold, I have been called to preach the word of God among all this people, according to the spirit of revelation and prophecy; and I was in this land and they would not receive me, but they <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng cast] me out and I was about to set my back towards this land forever.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>25</span> 但是看啊，我奉命再回來向這人民預言，是的，並向他們見證他們的罪惡。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>25</span> But behold, I have been commanded that I should turn again and prophesy unto this people, yea, and to testify against them concerning their iniquities.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>26</span> 艾繆萊克，你給我食物吃，又帶我到你家，你有福了；剛才我因為禁食多日，所以很餓。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>26</span> And now, Amulek, because thou hast fed me and taken me in, thou art blessed; for I was an hungered, for I had fasted many days.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>27</span> 阿爾瑪開始向這人民傳教之前，與艾繆萊克一同住了很多天。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>27</span> And Alma <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng tarried] many days with Amulek before he began to preach unto the people.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>28</span> And it came to pass that the people did wax more gross in their iniquities.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>29</span> And the word came to Alma, saying: Go; and also say unto my servant <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng Amulek], go forth and prophesy unto this people, saying—Repent ye, for thus saith the Lord, except ye repent I will visit this people in mine anger; yea, and I will not turn my <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng fierce]anger away.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>30</span> 阿爾瑪和艾繆萊克就到人民當中，向他們宣講神的話；他們充滿了聖靈。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>30</span> And Alma went forth, and also Amulek, among the people, to declare the words of God unto them; and they were filled with the Holy Ghost.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>31</span> And they had <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng power] given unto them, insomuch that they could not be confined in dungeons; neither was it possible that any man could slay them; nevertheless they did not exercise their<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/8?lang=eng power] until they were bound in bands and cast into prison. Now, this was done that the Lord might show forth his power in them.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>32</span> 事情是這樣的，他們憑著主賜給他們的靈和力量，開始去向這人民傳教和預言。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>32</span> And it came to pass that they went forth and began to preach and to prophesy unto the people, according to the spirit and power which the Lord had given them.</p>
