<p class='english'>The pure in heart receive the pleasing word of God—Lamanite righteousness exceeds that of the Nephites—Jacob warns against fornication, lasciviousness, and every sin. About 544–421 B.C.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>1</span>  但是看啊，我，雅各，要對那些心地純潔的人說，要用堅定的意志仰望神，用極大的信心向祂祈禱，祂必在你們苦難時安慰你們，也必為你們辯護，並向那些企圖毀滅你們的人討回公道。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>1</span> But behold, I, Jacob, would speak unto you that are pure in heart. Look unto God with firmness of mind, and <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng pray] unto him with exceeding faith, and he will <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng console] you in your <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng afflictions], and he will plead your cause, and send down <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng justice] upon those who seek your destruction.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>2</span>  心地純潔的人啊！抬起你們的頭來，接受神令人愉快的話，並飽享祂的愛；只要你們意志<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=zho 堅定]，你們就能永遠如此。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>2</span> O all ye that are pure in heart, lift up your heads and receive the pleasing word of God, and feast upon his <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng love]; for ye may, if your<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng minds] are <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng firm], forever.</p>

<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>4</span>  時候快到，除非你們悔改，否則他們必佔有你們繼承的土地，主神也必將義人從你們當中<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=zho 帶走]。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>4</span> And the time speedily cometh, that except ye repent they shall possess the land of your inheritance, and the Lord God will <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng lead]away the righteous out from among you.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>5</span> Behold, the Lamanites your brethren, whom ye hate because of their filthiness and the cursing which hath come upon their skins, are more righteous than you; for they have not <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng forgotten] the commandment of the Lord, which was given unto our father—that they should have save it were <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng one] wife, and <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng concubines] they should have none, and there should not be <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng whoredoms] committed among them.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>6</span> And now, this commandment they observe to keep; wherefore, because of this observance, in keeping this commandment, the Lord God will not destroy them, but will be <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng merciful] unto them; and one day they shall <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng become] a blessed people.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>7</span> Behold, their <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng husbands] <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng love] their <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng wives], and their wives love their husbands; and their husbands and their wives love their children; and their <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng unbelief] and their hatred towards you is because of the iniquity of their fathers; wherefore, how much better are you than they, in the sight of your great Creator?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>8</span>  我的弟兄啊，除非你們悔改你們的罪，我怕你們與他們一同被帶到神的寶座前時，他們的皮膚會比你們白。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>8</span> O my brethren, I fear that unless ye shall repent of your sins that their skins will be <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng whiter] than yours, when ye shall be brought with them before the throne of God.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>9</span>  因此，我給你們一條誡命，那是神的話，就是你們不可再因他們的深色皮膚而辱罵他們；也不可因他們的污穢而辱罵他們；反而要記住自己的污穢，也要記住他們的污穢是因他們的祖先而來的。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>9</span> Wherefore, a commandment I give unto you, which is the word of God, that ye <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng revile] no more against them because of the darkness of their skins; neither shall ye revile against them because of their filthiness; but ye shall remember your own filthiness, and remember that their filthiness came because of their fathers.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>11</span> O my brethren, hearken unto my words; <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng arouse] the faculties of your souls; shake yourselves that ye may <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng awake] from the slumber of death; and loose yourselves from the pains of <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng hell] that ye may not become <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng angels] to the devil, to be cast into that lake of fire and brimstone which is the second <sup class='englishSup'>e</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng death].</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>13</span> And a hundredth part of the proceedings of this people, which now began to be numerous, cannot be written upon <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng these] plates; but many of their proceedings are written upon the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/3?lang=eng larger] plates, and their wars, and their contentions, and the reigns of their kings.</p>
