<p class='english'>All the prophets worshiped the Father in the name of Christ—Abraham’s offering of Isaac was in similitude of God and his Only Begotten—Men should reconcile themselves to God through the Atonement—The Jews will reject the foundation stone. About 544–421 B.C.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>1</span>  現在看啊，事情是這樣的，我，雅各，還對我的人民講了許多話，（由於在頁片上刻寫困難，我只能寫一點我的話）我們知道我們寫在頁片上的事必得保留；</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 1 Now behold, it came to pass that I, Jacob, having ministered much unto my people in word, (and I cannot write but a <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng little] of my words, because of the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng difficulty] of engraving our words upon plates) and we know that the things which we write upon plates must remain;</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>2</span>  除了我們寫在頁片上的事以外，寫在其他東西上的事都必毀滅、消失；然而，我們能在頁片上寫一些話，讓我們的子孫和我們心愛的弟兄能知道一些關於我們，或關於他們祖先的事情。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 2 But whatsoever things we write upon anything save it be upon<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng plates] must perish and vanish away; but we can write a few words upon plates, which will give our children, and also our beloved brethren, a small degree of knowledge concerning us, or concerning their fathers—</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>3</span>  我們因此而快樂，並努力工作，把這些話刻在頁片上，希望我們心愛的弟兄和我們的子孫能以感謝的心來接受這些話，並細心閱讀，使他們能以喜樂而非憂傷或藐視的心情來學習他們最早的祖先的事。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 3 Now in this thing we do rejoice; and we labor diligently to engraven these words upon plates, hoping that our beloved brethren and our children will receive them with thankful hearts, and look upon them that they may learn with joy and not with sorrow, neither with contempt, concerning their first <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng parents].</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 4 For, for this intent have we written these things, that they may know that we <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng knew] of Christ, and we had a hope of his <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng glory]many hundred years before his coming; and not only we ourselves had a hope of his glory, but also all the holy <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng prophets] which were before us.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 5 Behold, they believed in Christ and <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng worshiped] the Father in his name, and also we worship the Father in his <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng name]. And for this intent we <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng keep] the <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng law] of Moses, it <sup class='englishSup'>e</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng pointing] our souls to him; and for this cause it is sanctified unto us for righteousness, even as it was accounted unto Abraham in the wilderness to be obedient unto the commands of God in offering up his son Isaac, which is a <sup class='englishSup'>f</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng similitude] of God and his <sup class='englishSup'>g</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng Only Begotten Son].</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 6 Wherefore, we search the prophets, and we have many revelations and the spirit of <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng prophecy]; and having all these<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng witnesses] we obtain a hope, and our faith becometh unshaken, insomuch that we truly can <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng command] in the <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng name] of Jesus and the very trees obey us, or the mountains, or the waves of the sea.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 7 Nevertheless, the Lord God showeth us our <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng weakness] that we may know that it is by his <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng grace], and his great condescensions unto the children of men, that we have power to do these things.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>8</span>  看啊，主的事工多麼偉大奇妙，祂的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 奧祕]何其深<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 不可測]；世人無法探知祂一切的道。除非祂向世人透露，否則沒有人會<sup class='chineseSup'>ｃ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 知道]祂的<sup class='chineseSup'>ｄ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 道]；因此，弟兄們，不要藐視神的啟示。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 8 Behold, great and marvelous are the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng works] of the Lord. How<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng unsearchable] are the depths of the <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng mysteries] of him; and it is impossible that man should find out all his ways. And no man<sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng knoweth] of his <sup class='englishSup'>e</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng ways] save it be revealed unto him; wherefore, brethren, despise not the <sup class='englishSup'>f</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng revelations] of God.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>9</span>  因為看啊，藉著祂<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 話語]的大能，<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 世人]才能來到地面上，這大地是藉著祂話語的大能創造的。因此，既然神能用說話創造了世界，也能用說話創造了世人，那麼，祂為何不能照祂的旨意和願望，命令<sup class='chineseSup'>ｃ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 大地]或地面上祂所造之物呢？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 9 For behold, by the power of his <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng word] <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng man] came upon the face of the earth, which earth was <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng created] by the power of his word. Wherefore, if God being able to speak and the world was, and to speak and man was created, O then, why not able to command the<sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng earth], or the workmanship of his hands upon the face of it, according to his will and pleasure?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>10</span>  所以，弟兄們，不要試圖<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 勸告]主，卻要接受由祂而來的勸告。因為看啊，你們明白主在祂的一切事工上，都是用<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 智慧]、公道和無限的慈悲來勸告的。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 10 Wherefore, brethren, seek not to <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng counsel] the Lord, but to take counsel from his hand. For behold, ye yourselves know that he counseleth in <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng wisdom], and in justice, and in great mercy, over all his works.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>11</span>  因此，心愛的弟兄們，要藉著基督，神<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 獨生子]的<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 贖罪]來與神和諧，使你們能按照那在基督裡的復活大能，而得到<sup class='chineseSup'>ｃ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 復活]，並當作基督<sup class='chineseSup'>ｄ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 初]熟的果子呈獻給神，要有信心，並在祂以肉身顯現之前，對祂的榮耀懷有美好的希望。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 11 Wherefore, beloved brethren, be <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng reconciled] unto him through the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng atonement] of Christ, his <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng Only Begotten Son], and ye may obtain a <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng resurrection], according to the <sup class='englishSup'>e</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng power] of the resurrection which is in Christ, and be presented as the <sup class='englishSup'>f</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng first-fruits] of Christ unto God, having faith, and obtained a good hope of glory in him before he manifesteth himself in the flesh.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>12</span>  現在，心愛的弟兄們，不要希奇我告訴你們這些事；為何不<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 談談]基督的贖罪，並得到關於祂的全部知識，如同得到關於復活與來生的知識呢？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 12 And now, beloved, marvel not that I tell you these things; for why not <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng speak] of the atonement of Christ, and attain to a perfect knowledge of him, as to attain to the knowledge of a resurrection and the world to come?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>13</span>  看啊，我的弟兄們，凡預言的，讓他按照世人所了解的預言吧！因為<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 靈]只講真理，絕不說謊。所以，靈講的是事情<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 現在]的真相與事情未來的真相；因此，為了我們靈魂的救恩，這些事已經<sup class='chineseSup'>ｃ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 明白]地向我們顯示。但是看啊，我們並不是這些事僅有的證人，因為神也對古時的眾先知說過這些事。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 13 Behold, my brethren, he that prophesieth, let him prophesy to the understanding of men; for the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng Spirit] speaketh the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng truth] and lieth not. Wherefore, it speaketh of things as they really <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng are], and of things as they really will be; wherefore, these things are manifested unto us <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng plainly], for the salvation of our souls. But behold, we are not witnesses alone in these things; for God also<sup class='englishSup'>e</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng spake] them unto prophets of old.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>14</span>  但是看啊，猶太人是<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 倔強]的民族；他們<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 藐視]明白的話、殺害眾先知、尋求他們不能了解的事。因此，由於他們的<sup class='chineseSup'>ｃ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 盲目]（那盲目是因為他們看目標看過了頭而造成的），他們必然跌倒；因為神已從他們當中取走明白的話，並照他們的願望，給他們許多<sup class='chineseSup'>ｄ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 無法]了解的事情。因為他們想要怎樣，神就怎樣行，任由他們絆倒。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 14 But behold, the Jews were a <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng stiffnecked] people; and they<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng despised] the words of <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng plainness], and <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng killed] the prophets, and sought for things that they could not understand. Wherefore, because of their <sup class='englishSup'>e</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng blindness], which <sup class='englishSup'>f</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng blindness] came by looking beyond the <sup class='englishSup'>g</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng mark], they must needs fall; for God hath taken away his plainness from them, and delivered unto them many things which they <sup class='englishSup'>h</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng cannot] understand, because they desired it. And because they desired it God hath done it, that they may <sup class='englishSup'>i</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng stumble].</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 15 And now I, Jacob, am led on by the Spirit unto prophesying; for I perceive by the workings of the Spirit which is in me, that by the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng stumbling] of the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng Jews] they will <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng reject] the <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng stone] upon which they might build and have safe foundation.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>16</span>  但是看啊，根據經文，這<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 磐石]必成為猶太人可建立於其上的大的、最後的、而又唯一穩固的<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 基礎]。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 16 But behold, according to the scriptures, this <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng stone] shall become the great, and the last, and the only sure <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng foundation], upon which the Jews can build.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>17</span>  現在，我心愛的，這些人既然拒絕那穩固的基礎，又如何能<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=zho 再]在其上建立，成為他們房角的頭塊石頭呢？</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 17 And now, my beloved, how is it possible that these, after having rejected the sure foundation, can <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/jacob/4?lang=eng ever] build upon it, that it may become the head of their corner?</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>18</span>  看啊，我心愛的弟兄們，如果我在靈中的堅定意志未因故動搖，我也未因對你們過度憂慮而絆倒，我必向你們揭露這奧祕。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 18 Behold, my beloved brethren, I will unfold this mystery unto you; if I do not, by any means, get shaken from my firmness in the Spirit, and stumble because of my over anxiety for you.</p>
