<p class='english'>Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet, at Salem, Massachusetts, 6 August 1836 (see History of the Church,2:465–66). At this time the leaders of the Church were heavily in debt due to their labors in the ministry. Hearing that a large amount of money would be available to them in Salem, the Prophet, Sidney Rigdon, Hyrum Smith, and Oliver Cowdery traveled there from Kirtland, Ohio, to investigate this claim, along with preaching the gospel. The brethren transacted several items of Church business and did some preaching. When it became apparent that no money was to be forthcoming, they returned to Kirtland. Several of the factors prominent in the background are reflected in the wording of this revelation.</p>
<p class='chinese'>1–5，主照顧祂僕人的屬世需要；6–11，為了祂僕人的益處，祂會慈愛地對待錫安，並安排一切事務。</p>
<p class='english'>1–5, The Lord looks to the temporal needs of his servants; 6–11, He will deal mercifully with Zion and arrange all things for the good of his servants.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>1</span> I, the Lord your God, am <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/111?lang=eng not] displeased with your coming this journey, notwithstanding your follies.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>2</span> 為了錫安的利益，在這城裡我有許多財寶要給你們；在這城裡我有許多人民，要在適當的時候，為了錫安的利益，以你們為工具，把他們聚集出來。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>2</span> I have much <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/111?lang=eng treasure] in this city for you, for the benefit of Zion, and many people in this city, whom I will gather out in due time for the benefit of Zion, through your instrumentality.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>3</span> 所以，你們必須按照那將給你們的引導，結識這城中的人。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>3</span> Therefore, it is expedient that you should form <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/111?lang=eng acquaintance]with men in this city, as you shall be led, and as it shall be given you.</p>

<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>5</span> 不要擔心你們的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/dc/111/5a 債務]，因為我會給你們能力還債。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>5</span> Concern not yourselves about your <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/111?lang=eng debts], for I will give you power to pay them.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>6</span> 不要擔心錫安，因為我會慈愛地對待她。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>6</span> Concern not yourselves about Zion, for I will deal mercifully with her.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>7</span> 停留在這個地方和周圍地區；</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>7</span> Tarry in this place, and in the regions round about;</p>

<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>9</span> 這地方你們可以用租賃的方式取得。要勤奮地詢問有關這城較早的居民和開拓者的事蹟；</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>9</span> This place you may obtain by hire. And inquire diligently concerning the more ancient inhabitants and founders of this city;</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>10</span> For there are more treasures than one for you in this city.</p>
