<p class='chinese'>一八三八年七月八日，在密蘇里，遠西城，透過先知約瑟 • 斯密給予的啟示，答覆「主啊，向我們顯示您對十二使徒的旨意」的祈求〔教會史，3：46〕。</p>
<p class='english'>Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet, at Far West, Missouri, 8 July 1838, in response to the supplication, “Show us thy will, O Lord, concerning the Twelve” (History of the Church,3:46).</p>
<p class='chinese'>1–3，主必供應十二使徒的家人；4–6，遞補十二使徒的空缺。</p>
<p class='english'>1–3, The Lord will provide for the families of the Twelve; 4–6, Vacancies in the Twelve are filled.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>1</span> Verily, thus saith the Lord: Let a conference be held immediately; let the Twelve be organized; and let men be appointed to <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/118?lang=eng supply] the place of those who are fallen.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>2</span> 我僕人<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/dc/118/2a 多]馬要留在錫安地一段時間，出版我的話語。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>2</span> Let my servant <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/118?lang=eng Thomas] remain for a season in the land of Zion, to publish my word.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>3</span> 其餘的人要從那時起繼續傳教；如果他們滿懷謙卑、溫柔、<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/dc/118/3a 謙遜]和<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/dc/118/3b 恆久]忍耐地做這事，我，主，給他們一個應許，我必供應他們的家人；並且從今以後，會有一道有功效的門為他們打開。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>3</span> Let the residue continue to preach from that hour, and if they will do this in all <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/118?lang=eng lowliness] of heart, in meekness and humility, and <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/118?lang=eng long]-suffering, I, the Lord, give unto them a <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/118?lang=eng promise] that I will provide for their families; and an effectual door shall be opened for them, from henceforth.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>4</span> 他們要在明年春天啟程渡過大海，到那裡傳播我的福音，圓滿的福音，並為我的名作見證。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>4</span> And next spring let them depart to go over the great waters, and there promulgate my gospel, the fulness thereof, and bear record of my name.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>5</span> 明年四月二十六日，他們要在我家宅的建築地點，離開我在遠西城的聖徒，主說。</p>

<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>6</span> 要任命我僕人約翰 • 泰來、我僕人約翰 • 裴治、我僕人惠福 • 伍，還有我僕人威拉 • 理查，遞補那些已墮落的人的位置，並將他們的任命正式通知他們。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>6</span> Let my servant John Taylor, and also my servant John E. Page, and also my servant Wilford Woodruff, and also my servant Willard Richards, be appointed to fill the places of those who have <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/118?lang=eng fallen], and be officially notified of their appointment.</p>
