<p class='english'>Revelation given to Joseph Smith the Prophet and Oliver Cowdery, at Harmony, Pennsylvania, April 1829 (see History of the Church, 1:32–35). Oliver Cowdery began his labors as scribe in the translation of the Book of Mormon, 7 April 1829. He had already received a divine manifestation of the truth of the Prophet’s testimony respecting the plates on which was engraved the Book of Mormon record. The Prophet inquired of the Lord through the Urim and Thummim and received this response.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 3 Behold, the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/6?lang=eng field] is white already to harvest; therefore, whoso desireth to reap, let him thrust in his sickle with his might, and reap while the day <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/6?lang=eng lasts], that he may <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/6?lang=eng treasure] up for his soul everlasting salvation in the kingdom of God.</p>

Behold, he that hath <sup class='englishSup'>f</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/6?lang=eng eternal] life is rich.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>8</span> 我實實在在告訴你，你向我求什麼，就必為你成全；而且如果你渴望，你將在這一代成為做許多善事的工具。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 8 Verily, verily, I say unto you, even as you <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/6?lang=eng desire] of me so it shall be unto you; and if you desire, you shall be the means of doing much <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/6?lang=eng good] in this generation.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>9</span> 對這一代只要說<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/dc/6/9a 悔改]，別的都不要說；遵守我的誡命，並按照我的誡命，協助推進我的事工，這樣你必蒙福。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 9 Say nothing but <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/6?lang=eng repentance] unto this generation; keep my commandments, and assist to bring forth my work, according to my commandments, and you shall be blessed.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 11 And if thou wilt <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/6?lang=eng inquire], thou shalt know <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/6?lang=eng mysteries] which are great and marvelous; therefore thou shalt exercise thy <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/6?lang=eng gift], that thou mayest find out mysteries, that thou mayest bring<sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/6?lang=eng many] to the knowledge of the truth, yea, <sup class='englishSup'>e</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/6?lang=eng convince] them of the error of their ways.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 18 Therefore be diligent; <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/6?lang=eng stand] by my <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/6?lang=eng servant] Joseph, faithfully, in whatsoever difficult circumstances he may be for the word’s sake.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>19</span> 規勸他的過錯，也接受他的規勸。要忍耐，要嚴肅，要節制，有耐心、信心、希望和仁愛。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'></span> 19 Admonish him in his faults, and also <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/6?lang=eng receive] admonition of him. <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/6?lang=eng Be] patient; be sober; be temperate; have patience, faith, hope and charity.</p>
