<p class='english'>Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet, at Hiram, Ohio, November 1831 (see History of the Church, 1:224–25). The occasion was that of a special conference, and the publication of the revelations already received from the Lord through the Prophet was considered and acted upon (see the heading to section 1). It was decided that Oliver Cowdery and John Whitmer should take the manuscripts of the revelations to Independence, where W. W. Phelps would publish them as the Book of Commandments. Many of the brethren bore solemn testimony that the revelations then compiled for publication were verily true, as was witnessed by the Holy Ghost shed forth upon them. The Prophet records that after the revelation known as section 1 had been received, some negative conversation was had concerning the language used in the revelations. The present revelation followed.</p>

<p class='english'>1–3, The Lord hears the prayers of and watches over his elders; 4–9, He challenges the wisest person to duplicate the least of his revelations; 10–14, Faithful elders will be quickened by the Spirit and see the face of God.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>3</span> Ye endeavored to <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/67?lang=eng believe] that ye should receive the blessing which was offered unto you; but behold, verily I say unto you there were <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/67?lang=eng fears] in your hearts, and verily this is the reason that ye did not receive.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>9</span> For ye know that there is no unrighteousness in them, and that which is <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/67?lang=eng righteous] cometh down from above, from the Father of<sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/67?lang=eng lights].</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>10</span> And again, verily I say unto you that it is your privilege, and a<sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/67?lang=eng promise] I give unto you that have been ordained unto this ministry, that inasmuch as you <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/67?lang=eng strip] yourselves from <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/67?lang=eng jealousies]and <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/67?lang=eng fears], and <sup class='englishSup'>e</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/67?lang=eng humble] yourselves before me, for ye are not sufficiently humble, the <sup class='englishSup'>f</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/67?lang=eng veil] shall be rent and you shall <sup class='englishSup'>g</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/67?lang=eng see] me and know that I am—not with the carnal neither natural mind, but with the spiritual.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>11</span> 因為<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/dc/67/11a 除了]經由神的靈強化外，沒有人在任何時候能在肉身中見到神。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>11</span> For no <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/67?lang=eng man] has seen God at any time in the flesh, except quickened by the Spirit of God.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>12</span> 任何<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/dc/67/12a 自然]人也都無法承受在神的面前，有肉慾意念的也不能。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>12</span> Neither can any <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/67?lang=eng natural] man abide the presence of God, neither after the carnal mind.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>13</span> 現在你們不能承受在神的面前，也不能承受天使的施助，所以，要繼續<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/dc/67/13a 忍耐]，直到你們成為<sup class='chineseSup'>ｂ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/dc/67/13b 完全]。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>13</span> Ye are not able to abide the presence of God now, neither the ministering of angels; wherefore, <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/67?lang=eng continue] in patience until ye are <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/67?lang=eng perfected].</p>
