<p class='english'>Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet, at Kirtland, Ohio, 27 November 1832 (see History of the Church, 1:298–99). This section is an extract from a letter of the Prophet to W. W. Phelps, who was living in Independence, Missouri. It was given to answer questions about those Saints who had moved to Zion but who had not received their inheritances according to the established order in the Church.</p>

<p class='english'>1–5, Inheritances in Zion are to be received through consecration; 6–12, One mighty and strong will give the Saints their inheritance in Zion.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>1</span> It is the duty of the Lord’s clerk, whom he has appointed, to keep a <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng history], and a general church <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng record] of all things that transpire in Zion, and of all those who <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng consecrate] properties, and receive <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng inheritances] legally from the bishop;</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>2</span> 還有他們的生活方式，他們的信心和行為；還有那些接受繼承產業後叛教的叛教者。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>2</span> And also their manner of life, their faith, and works; and also of the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng apostates] who apostatize after receiving their inheritances.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>3</span> It is contrary to the will and commandment of God that those who receive not their <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng inheritance] by <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng consecration], agreeable to his <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng law], which he has given, that he may <sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng tithe] his people, to prepare them against the day of <sup class='englishSup'>e</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng vengeance] and burning, should have their <sup class='englishSup'>f</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng names] enrolled with the people of God.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>4</span> 他們的家譜也不可保存，在教會的任何紀錄或歷史上都不可出現。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>4</span> Neither is their <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng genealogy] to be kept, or to be had where it may be found on any of the records or history of the church.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>7</span> And it shall come to pass that I, the Lord God, will send one mighty and strong, holding the scepter of power in his hand, clothed with light for a covering, whose mouth shall utter words, eternal words; while his bowels shall be a fountain of truth, to set in <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng order] the house of God, and to arrange by <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng lot] the<sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng inheritances] of the saints whose names are found, and the names of their fathers, and of their children, enrolled in the book of the law of God;</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>8</span> 而那位由神召喚和指定的人，伸出他的手來扶住神的<sup class='chineseSup'>ａ</sup>[http://scriptures.lds.org/zh/dc/85/8a 約櫃]，將被死亡之箭擊倒，像被閃電的強光擊倒的樹一樣。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>8</span> While that man, who was called of God and appointed, that putteth forth his hand to <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng steady] the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng ark] of God, shall fall by the shaft of death, like as a tree that is smitten by the vivid shaft of lightning.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>9</span> And all they who are not found written in the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng book] of remembrance shall find none inheritance in that day, but they shall be cut asunder, and their portion shall be appointed them among <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng unbelievers], where are <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng wailing] and gnashing of teeth.</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>10</span> 這些事不是我自己說的；所以，主這麼說，祂也會這麼做成。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>10</span> These things I say not of <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng myself]; therefore, as the Lord speaketh, he will also fulfil.</p>

<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>11</span> And they who are of the High Priesthood, whose names are not found written in the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng book] of the law, or that are found to have <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng apostatized], or to have been <sup class='englishSup'>c</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng cut] off from the church, as well as the lesser priesthood, or the members, in that day shall<sup class='englishSup'>d</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng not] find an inheritance among the saints of the Most High;</p>
<p class='chinese'><span class='chineseVerse'>12</span> 所以，那事要發生在他們身上，如以斯拉記第二章第六十一和六十二節所記，發生在祭司的兒女身上一樣。</p>
<p class='english'><span class='englishVerse'>12</span> Therefore, it shall be done unto them as unto the <sup class='englishSup'>a</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng children] of the <sup class='englishSup'>b</sup>[http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/85?lang=eng priest], as will be found recorded in the second chapter and sixty-first and second verses of Ezra.</p>
