Chapter 17:Alma and His People Escape | |
第十七章:阿爾瑪和他的人民逃離拉曼人 |
One day while Alma’s people were working in their fields, a Lamanite army crossed the border into their land. | |
有一天,當阿爾瑪的人民在田裡工作時,有一支拉曼人的軍隊越過了邊境,來到他們的土地上。 |
The Nephites were frightened and ran to the city for safety. | |
尼腓人很害怕,連忙跑進城裡躲了起來。 | |
Alma told them to remember God and he would help them. | |
但是阿爾瑪告訴他們要記得神,而且神一定會幫助他們的, | |
The Nephites began to pray. | |
尼腓人便開始祈禱。 |
The Lord softened the hearts of the Lamanites, and they did not hurt the Nephites. | |
主軟化了拉曼人的心,他們並沒有傷害尼腓人。 | |
The Lamanites had become lost while trying to find King Limhi’s people. | |
這些拉曼人是在追蹤林海王的人民時迷路的。 |
The Lamanites promised Alma that they would not bother his people if he would tell them how to get back to their land. | |

Alma showed them the way. | |

But the Lamanites did not keep their promise. | |

They put guards around the land, and Alma and his people were no longer free. | |

The Lamanite king made Amulon the ruler over Alma’s people. | |
拉曼人的國王讓艾謬倫當人民的統治者。 | |
Amulon had been a Nephite and a wicked priest of King Noah. | |
艾謬倫曾是尼腓人,是以前挪亞王的祭司。 |
Amulon made Alma’s people work very hard. | |
艾謬倫要阿爾瑪的人民作苦工, | |
They prayed for help, but Amulon said anyone caught praying would be killed. | |
人民於是祈禱尋求幫助;但艾謬倫說,只要是禱告被抓到的,都要處死。 | |
The people continued praying in their hearts. | |
人民便在心中祈禱。 |
God heard their prayers and strengthened the people so their work seemed easier. | |
神聽到他們的禱告並加強他們的力量,使他們的工作變得比較輕鬆; | |
The people were cheerful and patient. | |
人民很快樂而且充滿耐心。 |
God was pleased that the people were faithful. | |
人民的忠信讓神非常喜悅。 | |
He told Alma that he would help them escape from the Lamanites. | |
神告訴阿爾瑪,他會幫助他們逃離拉曼人的勢力範圍。 |
During the night the people gathered their food and animals. | |
人民在晚上把食物和牲畜集中在一起。 | |
The next morning God kept the Lamanites asleep while Alma and his people left the city. | |
第二天清晨,神讓拉曼人睡的很熟,阿爾瑪和他的人民就趁機離開了那個城市。 |
After traveling for 12 days, the people arrived at Zarahemla, where King Mosiah and his people welcomed them. | |
經過了十二天,他們來到柴雷罕拉地,摩賽亞王和他的人民都熱誠地歡迎他們。 |
