Chapter 8: Crossing the Sea | |
第八章:飄洋過海 |
The Lord told Lehi to take his family onto the ship they had built. | |
主吩咐李海帶著家人到他們造的船裡。 | |
They loaded it with fruit, meat, and honey and with seeds to plant in the promised land. | |
他們把水果、肉類、蜂蜜和要在應許地種的種子都帶到船上。 |
Strong winds blew the ship toward the promised land. | |
大風把船吹往應許地。 |
Laman, Lemuel, and some of the others began being wicked. | |
拉曼、雷米爾和一些人開始變得邪惡。 | |
When Nephi told them to stop, they got angry and tied him up with ropes. | |
尼腓要他們停止那些行為,他們很生氣,就用繩子把尼腓綁起來。 |
Because of their wickedness, the Liahona stopped working. | |
因為他們很邪惡,利阿賀拿就停止不動, | |
They did not know which way to steer the ship. | |
所以他們不知道要把船開往哪裡。 | |
A terrible storm blew the ship backward for three days. | |
這時天空颳起非常猛烈的暴風,把他們往後吹;這樣的情形有三天之久。 |
Lehi told Laman and Lemuel to untie Nephi, but they would not listen. | |
李海叫拉曼和雷米爾放開尼腓,可是他們不聽。 | |
Lehi and Sariah were so upset that they became ill. | |
李海和撒拉亞很傷心,所以就生病了。 |
Nephi’s wife and children cried. | |
尼腓的妻子和孩子們都哭了。 | |
They begged Laman and Lemuel to untie Nephi, but they refused. | |
他們求拉曼和雷米爾放開尼腓,可是拉曼和雷米爾不答應。 |
On the fourth day the storm got worse. | |
第四天,暴風更猛烈, | |
The ship was about to sink. | |
船也快沉了。 |
Laman and Lemuel knew that God had sent the storm. | |
拉曼和雷米爾終於了解暴風是神安排的, | |
They were afraid they would drown. | |
他們很怕會葬身海底。 |
Finally Laman and Lemuel repented and untied Nephi. | |
最後拉曼和雷米爾悔改也釋放了尼腓。 | |
Even though his wrists and ankles had become swollen and sore from the ropes, Nephi had not complained. | |
雖然尼腓的手腕和腳踝因為被繩子綁住又腫又痛,他卻沒有抱怨。 |
Nephi then picked up the Liahona, and it worked again. | |
後來,尼腓拿起利阿賀拿,它又開始運轉了。 | |
Nephi prayed, and the wind stopped. | |
尼腓禱告後,暴風就停止, | |
The sea became calm. | |
海面也恢復了平靜。 |
Nephi steered the ship, and it sailed again toward the promised land. | |
尼腓再度駕著船,往應許地開去。 |
