The Lord’s Church Is a Missionary Church

● 傳道事工為什麼是神對祂兒女計畫的一部分？

• In what ways is missionary work part of God’s plan for His children ?

主向亞當啟示福音的計畫：「就這樣，福音從太初就開始傳播」（摩西書5：58）。

The Lord revealed the gospel plan to Adam: “And thus the Gospel began to be preached, from the beginning” (Moses 5:58).

後來，亞當的正義子孫被派去宣講福音：「他們……呼喚各地所有的人悔改，教導人類兒女信心」（摩西書6：23）。

Later, Adam’s righteous descendants were sent to preach the gospel: “They ... called upon all men, everywhere, to repent; and faith was taught unto the children of men” (Moses 6:23) .

所有的先知都曾經是傳教士，每位先知在自己的時代都受命去宣講福音信息。

All the prophets have been missionaries.

Each in his day was commanded to preach the gospel message.

無論什麼時候，只要世上有聖職權柄，主就需要傳教士去向祂的兒女宣講福音的永恆原則。

Whenever the priesthood has been on the earth, the Lord has needed missionaries to preach the eternal principles of the gospel to His children .

主的教會向來就是傳道的教會。

The Lord’s Church has always been a missionary church.

救主在世時，按立了使徒和七十員，授予他們宣講福音的權柄和責任。

When the Savior lived on the earth, He ordained Apostles and Seventies and gave them the authority and responsibility to preach the gospel .

他們宣講的對象多半是自己的同胞，也就是猶太人（見馬太福音10：5-6）。

Most of their preaching was to their own people, the Jews (see Matthew 10:5–6).

耶穌復活後，差遣使徒向外邦人宣講福音。

After Jesus was resurrected, He sent Apostles to preach the gospel to the Gentiles.

祂命令使徒說：「你們往普天下去，傳福音給萬民聽」（馬可福音16：15）。

He commanded the Apostles, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15) .

使徒保羅是被派去向外邦人傳教的一位偉大的傳教士。

The Apostle Paul was a great missionary sent to the Gentiles.

他歸信加入教會後，將餘生用來向外邦人宣講福音。

After he was converted to the Church, he spent the remainder of his life preaching the gospel to them.

他在傳道期間，好幾次遭鞭打、擲石頭和監禁。

At different times during his mission he was whipped, stoned, and imprisoned.

但他還是繼續宣講福音（見使徒行傳23：10-12；第26 章）。

Yet he continued to preach the gospel (see Acts 23:10–12; 26) .

Missionary work began again when the Lord’s Church was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith.

今天，使徒和七十員被賦予宣講福音和確使福音在全世界宣講的主要責任。

Today the Apostles and Seventies have been given the chief responsibility for preaching the gospel and seeing that it is preached in all the world .

主告訴約瑟．斯密：「一地一地、一城一城去傳播我的福音……在每個地方，向每個人作見證」（教約66：5，7）。

The Lord told Joseph Smith: “Proclaim my gospel from land to land, and from city to city. ...Bear testimony in every place, unto every people” (D&C 66:5, 7).

1830 年6 月，先知的弟弟撒母耳．斯密踏上了教會首次的傳道旅桯。

In June 1830, Samuel Harrison Smith, the Prophet’s brother, began the first missionary journey for the Church .

從那時起，已有超過一百萬名的傳教士蒙召喚被派去宣講福音。

Since that time, over one million missionaries have been called and sent forth to preach the gospel.

他們帶給世人的信息就是耶穌基督是神的兒子，是我們的救主。

The message they take to the world is that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and our Savior.

他們見證福音已經由神的一位先知在世上復興了。

They testify that the gospel has been restored to the earth through a prophet of God.

傳教士有責任向所有的人宣講福音，為人施洗，教導他們去做主所命令的一切事情（見馬太福音28：19-20）。

The missionaries are given the responsibility to preach the gospel to all people, to baptize them, and to teach them to do all things that the Lord has commanded (see Matthew 28:19–20) .

後期聖徒傳教士們自費前往世界各地去宣講福音。

Latter-day Saint missionaries go at their own expense to all parts of the world to preach the gospel message .

The Gospel Will Be Preached to All the World

• What are some different ways the Lord has prepared for us to share the gospel ?

近代的啟示告訴我們一定要把復興的福音帶給各國各民（見教約133：37）。

We have been told in latter-day revelation that we must take the restored gospel to every nation and people (see D&C 133:37).

主絕對不會給我們誡命卻不給我們履行那條誡命的方法（見尼腓一書3：7）。

The Lord never gives us a commandment without preparing a way for us to accomplish it (see 1 Nephi 3:7).

主已經為我們預備了方法，讓我們能到曾經封閉的國家去教導福音。

The Lord has prepared ways for us to teach the gospel in nations that were once closed to us .

只要我們繼續祈禱，運用信心，主就會在其他國家打開傳道事工的機會。

As we continue to pray and exercise faith, the Lord will open other nations to missionary work .

主也「啟迪聰明人的心智，創造發明，以這世界前所未知的方式來推動主的事工」（Russell M. Nelson, in “ComputerizedScriptures Now Available,”Ensign, Apr. 1988, 73）。

The Lord is also “inspiring the minds of great people to create inventions that further the work of the Lord in ways this world has never known” (Russell M. Nelson, in “Computerized Scriptures Now Available,” Ensign, Apr. 1988, 73).

報紙、雜誌、電視、無線電、人造衛星、電腦、網路和相關科技都協助把福音信息帶給數以百萬計的人民。

Newspapers, magazines, television, radio, satellites, computers, the Internet, and related technology help give the gospel message to millions of people.

我們這些有圓滿福音的人需要利用這些發明來履行主的誡命：「因為，實在的，那聲音必須從這地方傳到世界各地，到大地的盡頭──福音必須傳給每一個人」（教約58：64）。

We who have the fulness of the gospel need to use these inventions to fulfill the Lord’s commandment: “For, verily, the sound must go forth from this place into all the world, and unto the uttermost parts of the earth—the gospel must be preached unto every [person]” (D&C 58:64) .

Missionary Work Is Important

「教會首要關切的事，就是使人類兒女的靈魂得到拯救與超升」（ Ezra Taft Benson, in Conference Report, Apr. 1974,151; or Ensign, May 1974, 104）。

“This is our first interest as a Church—to save and exalt the souls of the children of men” (Ezra Taft Benson, in Conference Report, Apr. 1974, 151; or Ensign, May 1974, 104).

為了讓世人有機會聽到和接受福音，就必須進行傳道事工。

Missionary work is necessary in order to give the people of the world an opportunity to hear and accept the gospel.

他們需要學習真理，歸向神，並得到罪的赦免。

They need to learn the truth, turn to God, and receive forgiveness from their sins .

我們在這世上有許多弟兄姊妹被錯誤的教導矇蔽，因為他們「不知道要到哪裡找真理而與真理隔絕」（教約123：12）。

Many of our brothers and sisters on earth are blinded by false teachings and “are only kept from the truth because they know not where to find it” (D&C 123:12).

藉著傳道事工，我們可以帶領他們認識真理。

Through missionary work we can bring them the truth .

主命令說：「你們要最後一次在我葡萄園中工作──最後一次呼籲大地居民」（教約43：28）。

The Lord has commanded, “Labor ye in my vineyard for the last time—for the last time call upon the inhabitants of the earth” (D&C 43:28).

我們教導弟兄姊妹福音時，就是在為救主的第二次來臨預備道路（見教約34：6）。

As we teach the gospel to our brothers and sisters, we are preparing the way for the Second Coming of the Savior (see D&C 34:6) .

我們都應該是傳教士
We Should All Be Missionaries

In what ways can we prepare ourselves for such opportunities ?

教會的每位教友都是傳教士。

Every member of the Church is a missionary.

就算沒有被正式召喚和按手選派，我們仍然應該是傳教士。

We should be missionaries even if we are not formally called and set apart.

我們有責任以言語和行為來教導天父所有的兒女福音。

We are responsible to teach the gospel by word and deed to all of our Heavenly Father’s children.

主告訴我們：「每一個被警告過的人，應當警告他的鄰人」（教約88：81）。

The Lord has told us, “It becometh every man who hath been warned to warn his neighbor” (D&C 88:81).

有位先知告訴我們，在警告鄰人之前，先要讓他們知道我們愛他們（見總會會長的教訓：賓塞．甘，第262 頁）。

We have been told by a prophet that we should show our neighbors that we love them before we warn them (see Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Spencer W. Kimball [2006], 262).

他們需要感受到我們的友誼和交誼。

They need to experience our friendship and fellowship .

摩賽亞的兒子們欣然接受了教導福音的責任。

The sons of Mosiah willingly accepted their responsibility to teach the gospel.

When they were converted to the Church, their hearts were filled with compassion for others.

他們要向敵人拉曼人宣講福音，「因為他們不忍任何人的靈魂滅亡；是的，只要一想到有人要忍受無盡的痛苦，他們就會戰慄發抖」（摩賽亞書28：3）。

They wanted to preach the gospel to their enemies the Lamanites, “for they could not bear that any human soul should perish; yea, even the very thoughts that any soul should endure endless torment did cause them to quake and tremble” (Mosiah 28:3).

當福音讓我們的生活充滿喜樂時，我們就會油然生出對弟兄姊妹的這種愛和憐憫。

As the gospel fills our lives with joy, we will feel this kind of love and compassion for our brothers and sisters .

我們會想和每一位願意聽的人分享福音信息。

We will want to share the message of the gospel with everyone who desires to listen .

我們有很多方法可以分享福音。

There are many ways we can share the gospel.

下列是一些建議：1. 我們可以讓朋友和其他人看到我們奉行福音真理時所體驗到的喜樂。

Following are some suggestions: 1. We can show friends and others the joy we experience from living the truths of the gospel.

這樣，我們就成了世上的光（見馬太福音5：16）。

In this way we will be a light to the world (see Matthew 5:16) .

2. 我們可以對人友善，為他們做和善的事，藉此克服我們羞怯的個性。

2. We can overcome our natural shyness by being friendly to others and doing kind things for them.

我們可以幫助他們了解我們是真誠地關心他們，並不求自己的利益。

We can help them see that we are sincerely interested in them and are not seeking personal gain .

3. 我們可以向非教友朋友和其他人解釋福音。

3. We can explain the gospel to nonmember friends and others .

4. We can invite friends who are interested in learning more about the gospel into our homes to be taught by the missionaries.

如果非教友朋友住得太遠，我們可以請他們當地的傳教士去拜訪他們。

If our nonmember friends live too far away, we can request that missionaries in their areas visit them .

5. 我們可以教導子女明白分享福音的重要，幫助他們在靈性和經濟上準備好去傳教。

5. We can teach our children the importance of sharing the gospel, and we can prepare them spiritually and financially to go on missions.

我們也可以準備自己在年紀大的時候去做全部時間的傳道服務。

We can also prepare ourselves to serve full-time missions in our senior years .

6. We can pay our tithing and contribute to the missionary fund .

8. We can do family history research and temple work to help our ancestors receive the full blessings of the gospel .

9. We can invite nonmembers to activities such as family home evenings and Church socials, conferences, and meetings .

10. We can give copies of Church magazines.

We can also share gospel messages by using features available on the Church’s official Internet sites, LDS.org and Mormon.org .

Our Heavenly Father will help us be effective missionaries when we have the desire to share the gospel and pray for guidance.

The Lord Promises Us Blessings for Doing Missionary Work

主告訴先知約瑟．斯密，傳教士會獲得很大的祝福。

The Lord told the Prophet Joseph Smith that missionaries would receive great blessings.

主對傳教回來的長老們說：「你們有福了，因為你們作的見證已記錄在天上給天使看；他們為你們快樂」（教約62：3）。

Speaking to elders who were returning from their missions, the Lord said, “Ye are blessed, for the testimony which ye have borne is recorded in heaven for the angels to look upon; and they rejoice over you” (D&C 62:3).

祂也說，那些為別人的救恩而努力的人，會得到罪的赦免，並且為自己的靈魂帶來救恩（見教約4：4；31：5；84：61）。

He has also said that those who work for the salvation of others will have their sins forgiven and will bring salvation to their own souls (see D&C 4:4; 31:5; 84:61) .

主已告訴我們：「假如你們辛勤終生，呼籲這人民悔改，即使只帶領一個靈魂歸向我，你們同他在我父國度中的快樂該是多麼大呀！

The Lord has told us: “If it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father !

「假如你們帶領一個靈魂歸向我，進入我父的國度，你們就那麼快樂，那麼，如果你們帶領很多靈魂歸向我，你們的快樂將是多麼大呀！」（教約18：15-16）。

“And now, if your joy will be great with one soul that you have brought unto me into the kingdom of my Father, how great will be your joy if you should bring many souls unto me! ” (D&C 18:15–16) .
