第十二章
Chapter 12
世人易變、愚蠢又迅於作惡──主懲戒祂的人民──世人與神的大能相比，顯得微不足道──在審判日，世人將獲得永恆的生命或永恆的罪罰。約主前六年。
Men are unstable and foolish and quick to do evil—The Lord chastens his people—The nothingness of men is compared with the power of God—In the day of judgment, men will gain everlasting life or everlasting damnation. About 6 B.C.
1 由此可以看出，人類兒女的心多麼虛偽不定；是的，也可見主以祂偉大無限的良善，祝福所有ａ信靠祂的人，使他們ｂ昌盛。
1 And thus we can behold how false, and also the unsteadiness of the hearts of the children of men; yea, we can see that the Lord in his great infinite goodness doth bless and aprosper those who put their btrust in him.
2 是的，我們可以知道，每次祂使祂的人民昌盛時，是的，就是加增他們的田地、他們的牲口，和金子、銀子以及各式各樣的寶物；饒恕他們的性命，拯救他們脫離敵人的手；軟化敵人的心，不向他們宣戰；是的，總之，祂為祂人民的福祉與幸福做了一切的時候，是的，那就是他們ａ硬起心來，忘記主他們的神，並將聖者放在腳下ｂ踐踏的時候，是的，這是因為他們生活安逸和極度昌盛之故。
2 Yea, and we may see at the very atime when he doth bprosperhis people, yea, in the increase of their fields, their flocks and their herds, and in gold, and in silver, and in all manner ofcprecious things of every kind and art; sparing their lives, and delivering them out of the hands of their enemies; softening the hearts of their enemies that they should not declare wars against them; yea, and in fine, doing all things for the welfare and happiness of his people; yea, then is the time that they dodharden their hearts, and do eforget the Lord their God, and doftrample under their feet the Holy One—yea, and this because of their ease, and their exceedingly great prosperity.
3 由此可知，除非主用許多苦難來ａ懲戒祂的人民，是的，除非祂以死亡、恐怖、飢荒和種種瘟疫懲罰他們，否則他們不會ｂ記起祂。
3 And thus we see that except the Lord doth achasten his people with many afflictions, yea, except he doth visit them with bdeathand with terror, and with famine and with all manner of pestilence, they will not cremember him.
4 啊！人類兒女多麼愚蠢、多麼虛榮、多麼邪惡、多麼魔鬼似的，多麼ａ迅於作惡而多麼遲於行善；是的，他們多麼迅於聽從邪惡者的話，把ｂ心放在世間無益的事物上！
4 O how afoolish, and how vain, and how evil, and devilish, and how bquick to do iniquity, and how slow to do good, are the children of men; yea, how quick to hearken unto the words of the evil one, and to set their chearts upon the vain things of the world!
5 是的，他們多麼迅於ａ自負，是的，多麼迅於誇耀和做各樣的惡事；多麼遲於記起主他們的神，不側耳聽祂的忠告，是的，多麼遲於ｂ走在智慧的道路上！
5 Yea, how quick to be lifted up in apride; yea, how quick tobboast, and do all manner of that which is iniquity; and how slow are they to remember the Lord their God, and to give ear unto his counsels, yea, how slow to cwalk in wisdom’s paths!
6 看啊，他們不願那位ａ創造他們的主，他們的神ｂ管理和統治他們；儘管祂以偉大的良善和憐憫對待他們，他們仍蔑視祂的忠告，不願祂作他們的領導者。
6 Behold, they do not desire that the Lord their God, who hathacreated them, should brule and reign over them; notwithstanding his great goodness and his mercy towards them, they do set atcnaught his counsels, and they will not that he should be their guide.
7 人類兒女是多麼ａ微不足道啊；是的，他們甚至不如地上的塵土。
7 O how great is the anothingness of the children of men; yea, even they are bless than the dust of the earth.
8 因為看啊，地上的塵土在我們偉大而永恆之神的命令下向四處移動，甚至崩裂。
8 For behold, the dust of the earth moveth hither and thither, to the dividing asunder, at the command of our great and everlasting God.
9 是的，看啊，祂的聲音能使山嶽顫抖ａ震動。
9 Yea, behold at his avoice do the hills and the mountains tremble and bquake.
10 祂聲音的ａ力量能使山嶽崩裂而夷為平地，是的，就像山谷一樣。
10 And by the apower of his voice they are broken up, and become smooth, yea, even like unto a valley.
11 是的，祂聲音的力量能使ａ整個大地搖撼；
11 Yea, by the power of his voice doth the awhole earth shake;
12 是的，祂聲音的力量能使地基振盪，直達地心。
12 Yea, by the power of his voice, do the foundations rock, even to the very center.
13 是的，若祂對大地說──動──大地就動了。
13 Yea, and if he say unto the earth—Move—it is moved.
14 是的，若祂對ａ大地說──ｂ倒轉吧，讓一天ｃ多幾個時辰──事就這樣成了；
14 Yea, if he say unto the aearth—Thou shalt bgo back, that itclengthen out the day for many hours—it is done;
15 因此，大地就按照祂的話倒轉了，世人看來像是太陽靜止不動；是的，看啊，就是如此，因為確實是大地在動，不是太陽。
15 And thus, according to his word the aearth goeth back, and it appeareth unto man that the bsun standeth still; yea, and behold, this is so; for surely it is the earth that moveth and not the sun.
16 看啊，再者，若祂對大海的ａ水說──ｂ乾涸吧──事就這樣成了。
16 And behold, also, if he say unto the awaters of the great deep—bBe thou dried up—it is done.
17 看啊，若祂對這座山說──升起來，ａ過來落在那座城上，覆沒那城──看啊，事就這樣成了。
17 Behold, if he say unto this mountain—Be thou raised up, andacome over and fall upon that city, that it be buried up—behold it is done.
18 看啊，若有人將寶物ａ藏在地裡，而主說──讓這寶物因藏寶人所犯的罪而被ｂ詛咒吧──看啊，這寶物就被詛咒了。
18 And behold, if a man ahide up a treasure in the earth, and the Lord shall say—Let it be baccursed, because of the iniquity of him who hath hid it up—behold, it shall be accursed.
19 若主說──你被詛咒了，從現在到永遠，無人能找到你──看啊，從現在到永遠，必無人能得到這寶物。
19 And if the Lord shall say—Be thou accursed, that no man shall find thee from this time henceforth and forever—behold, no man getteth it henceforth and forever.
20 看啊，若主對某人說──由於你的罪，你必永遠受詛咒──這話就必實現。
20 And behold, if the Lord shall say unto a man—Because of thine iniquities, thou shalt be accursed aforever—it shall be done.
21 若主說──由於你的罪，你必被剪除，與我隔絕──祂必讓事情如此。
21 And if the Lord shall say—Because of thine iniquities thou shalt be acut off from my presence—he will cause that it shall be so.
22 祂對誰講這話，誰就有禍了，這事必發生在犯罪的人身上，那犯罪的人就無法得救了；因此，為了這緣故，為了使世人可以得救，宣布了悔改的信息。
22 And wo unto him to whom he shall say this, for it shall be unto him that will do iniquity, and he cannot be asaved; therefore, for this cause, that men might be saved, hath repentance been declared.
23 因此，凡悔改而聽從主他們神的聲音的人有福了，因為他們就是那些可以ａ得救的人。
23 Therefore, blessed are they who will repent and hearken unto the voice of the Lord their God; for these are they that shall be saved.
24 願神因祂偉大的完美，恩准世人被引領悔改和行善，使他們得以按自己的行為，回復到ａ恩上加恩的情況。
24 And may God grant, in his great fulness, that men might be brought unto repentance and good works, that they might be restored unto grace for agrace, according to their works.
25 我希望所有的人都能得救。但我們讀過，在最後的大日子，有些人將被趕出，是的，被拋棄，與主隔絕。
25 And I would that all men might be saved. But we read that in the agreat and last day there are some who shall be cast out, yea, who shall be cast off from the bpresence of the Lord;
26 是的，他們將被送到無盡悲慘的狀態中，應驗以下的話：行善者得ａ永恆生命，作惡者得永恆ｂ罪罰。正如這樣。阿們。
26 Yea, who shall be consigned to a state of endless misery, fulfilling the words which say: They that have done good shall have aeverlasting life; and they that have done evil shall have everlasting bdamnation. And thus it is. Amen.
