Chapter 4

說明長老和祭司如何主理聖餐麵包。約主後四○一年至四二一年。

How elders and priests administer the sacramental bread is explained. About A.D. 401–21.

1 他們的^ａ長老和祭司為教友主理基督的肉與血的^ｂ方式；他們按照基督的命令^ｃ主理，所以我們知道那是正確的方式，是由長老或祭司主理的──

1 The ^amanner of their ^belders and ^cpriests administering the flesh and blood of Christ unto the church; and they administered it ^daccording to the commandments of Christ; wherefore we know the manner to be true; and the elder or priest did minister it—

2 他們和教友跪下，奉基督的名向父禱告，說：

2 And they did kneel down with the ^achurch, and pray to the Father in the name of Christ, saying:

3 神啊，永恆的父，我們奉您子耶穌基督的名，祈求您為所有領受此^ａ餅之人的靈魂，祝福並聖化此餅，讓他們食用，以^ｂ記得您子的身體；並向您，神啊，永恆的父，證明他們願意承受^ｃ您子的名，一直記得祂，並遵守祂賜給他們的誡命，使他們能一直有祂的^ｄ靈與他們同在。阿們。

3 O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and ^asanctify this ^bbread to the souls of all those who partake of it; that they may eat in ^cremembrance of the body of thy Son, and witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they are willing to take upon them the ^dname of thy Son, and always remember him, and keep his commandments which he hath given them, that they may always have his ^eSpiritto be with them. Amen.
