King Benjamin records the names of the people and appoints priests to teach them—Mosiah reigns as a righteous king. About 124–121 B.C.
1 便雅憫王對人民講完話後,認為應當a記錄所有與神立約遵守誡命之人的名字。
1 And now, king Benjamin thought it was expedient, after having finished speaking to the people, that he should atake the names of all those who had entered into a covenant with God to keep his commandments.
2 事情是這樣的,除了小孩子以外,沒有一個人不與主立約,承受基督的名。
2 And it came to pass that there was not one soul, except it were little children, but who had entered into the covenant and had taken upon them the name of Christ.
3 事情是這樣的,在便雅憫王結束這些事,並按立他的兒子a摩賽亞為他人民的統治者和國王,把國事都交給他,也b任命祭司來c教導人民,使他們能聽到並知道神的誡命,喚醒他們記起曾立的d誓約後,他解散群眾,每人帶著家人回自己的家去了。
3 And again, it came to pass that when king Benjamin had made an end of all these things, and had consecrated his son aMosiah to be a ruler and a king over his people, and had given him all the charges concerning the kingdom, and also had bappointed cprieststo dteach the people, that thereby they might hear and know the commandments of God, and to stir them up in remembrance of theeoath which they had made, he dismissed the multitude, and they returned, every one, according to their ffamilies, to their own houses.
4 a摩賽亞開始接替他的父親統治。他在三十歲那年開始統治,整個算起來,b時約李海離開耶路撒冷後四百七十六年。
4 And Mosiah began to reign in his father’s stead. And he began to reign in the thirtieth year of his age, making in the whole, about four hundred and seventy-six years from the atime that Lehi left Jerusalem.
5 便雅憫王又活了三年就去世了。
5 And king Benjamin lived three years and he died.
6 事情是這樣的,摩賽亞確實遵行主的道,遵行祂的法典和規章,在所有祂命令的事上,遵守祂的誡命。
6 And it came to pass that king Mosiah did awalk in the ways of the Lord, and did observe his judgments and his statutes, and did keep his commandments in all things whatsoever he commanded him.
7 摩賽亞王使人民耕種土地。他自己也耕種土地,a不使自己成為人民的負擔,好凡事按照他父親所做的去做。全民之間沒有紛爭達三年之久。
7 And king Mosiah did cause his people that they should till the earth. And he also, himself, did till the earth, that thereby he mightanot become burdensome to his people, that he might do according to that which his father had done in all things. And there was no contention among all his people for the space of three years.
