Ammon glories in the Lord—The faithful are strengthened by the Lord and are given knowledge—By faith men may bring thousands of souls unto repentance—God has all power and comprehends all things. About 90–77 B.C.
1 艾蒙對他弟兄說了這樣的話：我的兄弟和弟兄們，看啊，我告訴你們，我們有多麼好的理由高興啊；因為我們從柴雷罕拉地ａ出發的時候，哪裡料到神會賜給我們這麼大的祝福呢？
1 And now, these are the words of Ammon to his brethren, which say thus: My brothers and my brethren, behold I say unto you, how great reason have we to rejoice; for could we have supposed when we astarted from the land of Zarahemla that God would have granted unto us such great blessings?
2 現在，請問，祂賜給了我們哪些偉大的祝福？你們看得出來嗎？
2 And now, I ask, what great blessings has he bestowed upon us? Can ye tell?
3 看啊，我來替你們回答；我們的弟兄拉曼人，原本身處黑暗中，是的，身處最黑暗的深淵裡；但是看啊，他們有ａ多少人得見神的奇妙之光啊！那賜給我們的祝福就是讓我們成為神手中的ｂ工具，促成這項偉大的事工。
3 Behold, I answer for you; for our brethren, the Lamanites, were in darkness, yea, even in the darkest abyss, but behold, howamany of them are brought to behold the marvelous light of God! And this is the blessing which hath been bestowed upon us, that we have been made binstruments in the hands of God to bring about this great work.
4 看啊，他們ａ成千的人都歡欣快樂，並被帶進神的羊圈。
4 Behold, athousands of them do rejoice, and have been brought into the fold of God.
5 看啊，ａ田地已經熟了，而你們有福了，因為你們確曾揮動ｂ鐮刀，努力收割，是的，你們終日辛勤；看看你們ｃ禾捆的數量！那些禾捆都要收進穀倉裡，免得糟蹋了。
5 Behold, the afield was ripe, and blessed are ye, for ye did thrust in the bsickle, and did reap with your might, yea, all the day long did ye labor; and behold the number of your csheaves! And they shall be gathered into the garners, that they are not wasted.
6 是的，他們在末日必不被暴風吹倒，是的，也不被旋風拔起；ａ暴風來臨時，他們必被收聚在他們的地方，暴風無法吹襲他們，是的，強風也無法把他們颳到敵人想帶他們去的地方。
6 Yea, they shall not be beaten down by the storm at the last day; yea, neither shall they be harrowed up by the whirlwinds; but when the astorm cometh they shall be gathered together in their place, that the storm cannot penetrate to them; yea, neither shall they be driven with fierce winds whithersoever the enemy listeth to carry them.
7 但是看啊，他們在ａ收割之主手中，他們屬於祂；祂會在末日ｂ高舉他們。
7 But behold, they are in the hands of the Lord of the aharvest, and they are his; and he will braise them up at the last day.
8 我們神的名是應當稱頌的；讓我們ａ歌頌讚美祂，是的，讓我們ｂ感謝祂的聖名，因為祂永遠行正義之事。
8 aBlessed be the name of our God; let us bsing to his praise, yea, let us give cthanks to his holy name, for he doth work righteousness forever.
9 若非我們離開柴雷罕拉地上到這裡來，這些我們摯愛的，而且也摯愛我們的弟兄，必仍受ａ憎恨我們之苦，是的，並且對神而言，他們還會是陌生人。
9 For if we had not come up out of the land of Zarahemla, these our dearly beloved brethren, who have so dearly beloved us, would still have been racked with ahatred against us, yea, and they would also have been bstrangers to God.
10 事情是這樣的，艾蒙說完這些話，他的哥哥亞倫責備他說：艾蒙，恐怕你是快樂過度而誇口了。
10 And it came to pass that when Ammon had said these words, his brother Aaron rebuked him, saying: Ammon, I fear that thy joy doth carry thee away unto boasting.
11 但是艾蒙對他說：我既不ａ誇耀自己的力量，也不誇耀自己的智慧；但是看啊，我的ｂ快樂十足，是的，我的心充滿快樂，我要因我的神而高興。
11 But Ammon said unto him: I do not aboast in my own strength, nor in my own wisdom; but behold, my bjoy is full, yea, my heart is brim with cjoy, and I will rejoice in my God.
12 是的，我自知微不足道；我的力量薄弱；所以我不ａ誇耀自己，但我要誇耀我的神，因為有祂的ｂ力量，我什麼事都能做；是的，看啊，我們已在這塊土地上行了許多大奇蹟，我們永遠都要為此讚頌祂的名。
12 Yea, I know that I am anothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will bnot boast of myself, but I will cboast of my God, for in his dstrength I can do all ethings; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever.
13 看啊，有多少弟兄已由祂解除了ａ地獄的痛苦，並被引領而ｂ歌頌救贖之愛？這都是祂在我們裡面的話語的力量，我們難道沒有好理由高興嗎？
13 Behold, how many thousands of our brethren has he loosed from the pains of ahell; and they are brought to bsing redeeming love, and this because of the power of his word which is in us, therefore have we not great reason to rejoice?
14 是的，我們有理由永遠讚美祂，因為祂是至高之神，解救我們的弟兄脫離了ａ地獄的鎖鏈。
14 Yea, we have reason to praise him forever, for he is the Most High God, and has loosed our brethren from the achains of hell.
15 是的，他們曾被永恆的黑暗與毀滅圍困，但是看啊，祂把他們帶進祂永恆的ａ光明裡，是的，帶進永恆的救恩中，並以祂無比厚愛圍繞著他們；是的，我們是祂手中的工具，執行此項偉大而奇妙的事工。
15 Yea, they were encircled about with everlasting adarkness and destruction; but behold, he has brought them into his everlastingblight, yea, into everlasting salvation; and they are encircled about with the matchless bounty of his love; yea, and we have been instruments in his hands of doing this great and marvelous work.
16 因此，讓我們覺得ａ榮耀吧！是的，我們要以主ｂ為榮；是的，我們要喜樂，因為我們的快樂十足；是的，我們要永遠讚美我們的神。看啊，誰能過於以主為榮呢？是的，關於祂的大能、ｃ慈悲，以及祂對人類兒女的恆久忍耐，誰能說得太多呢？看啊，我告訴你們，我無法說出我心中感受的最小一部分。
16 Therefore, let us aglory, yea, we will bglory in the Lord; yea, we will rejoice, for our joy is full; yea, we will praise our God forever. Behold, who can glory too much in the Lord? Yea, who can say too much of his great power, and of his cmercy, and of his long-suffering towards the children of men? Behold, I say unto you, I cannot say the smallest part which I feel.
17 誰料想到我們的神如此仁慈，把我們從可怕的、充滿罪惡且污穢的狀態中搶救出來？
17 Who could have supposed that our God would have been so merciful as to have snatched us from our awful, sinful, andapolluted state?
18 看啊，我們以前甚至滿腔憤怒地出去，大膽威脅要ａ毀滅祂的教會。
18 Behold, we went forth even in wrath, with mighty threatenings to adestroy his church.
19 祂為什麼沒有把我們交給可怕的毀滅，是的，祂為什麼不讓祂公義之劍落在我們身上，並判定我們永遠絕望？
19 Oh then, why did he not consign us to an awful destruction, yea, why did he not let the sword of his justice fall upon us, and doom us to eternal adespair?
20 啊，一想到這，我的靈魂幾乎就要逃遁。看啊，祂不但沒有向我們行使祂的公道，反而極仁慈地帶我們越過死亡與悲慘的永恆ａ深淵，甚至拯救我們的靈魂。
20 Oh, my soul, almost as it were, fleeth at the thought. Behold, he did not exercise his justice upon us, but in his great mercy hath brought us over that everlasting agulf of death and misery, even to the salvation of our souls.
21 現在看啊，弟兄們，有哪一個ａ自然人知道這些事呢？我告訴你們，除了悔改的人外，沒有人ｂ知道這些事。
21 And now behold, my brethren, what anatural man is there that knoweth these things? I say unto you, there is bnone thatcknoweth these things, save it be the penitent.
22 是的，凡是ａ悔改，運用ｂ信心，結出好行為，並繼續不斷祈禱的人──ｃ神的奧祕必讓這樣的人知道，是的，那從未啟示的事也必向這樣的人啟示；是的，必指派這樣的人帶領成千上萬的靈魂悔改，正如指派我們帶領我們這些弟兄悔改一樣。
22 Yea, he that arepenteth and exerciseth faith, and bringeth forth good bworks, and prayeth continually without ceasing—unto such it is given to know the cmysteries of God; yea, unto such it shall be dgiven to ereveal things which never have been revealed; yea, and it shall be given unto such to bring thousands of souls to repentance, even as it has been given unto us to bring these our brethren to repentance.
23 弟兄們，你們還記得以前我們告訴我們柴雷罕拉地的弟兄說，我們要上尼腓地向我們的弟兄拉曼人傳道時，他們笑我們，蔑視我們的情形嗎？
23 Now do ye remember, my brethren, that we said unto our brethren in the land of Zarahemla, we go up to the land of Nephi, to preach unto our brethren, the Lamanites, and they alaughed us to scorn?
24 他們對我們說：你們以為你們能使拉曼人認識真理嗎？拉曼人的心喜愛流人血，他們以犯最重大的罪惡度日，他們的行徑一開始就是犯罪的行徑；你們以為你們能使像他們這樣的ａ民族認清他們祖先ｂ傳統的錯誤嗎？弟兄們，你們都記得這就是他們當初講的話。
24 For they said unto us: Do ye suppose that ye can bring the Lamanites to the knowledge of the truth? Do ye suppose that ye can convince the Lamanites of the aincorrectness of thebtraditions of their fathers, as cstiffnecked a people as they are; whose hearts delight in the dshedding of blood; whose days have been spent in the grossest iniquity; whose ways have been the ways of a transgressor from the beginning? Now my brethren, ye remember that this was their language.
25 此外，他們還說：讓我們拿起武器攻擊他們，將他們和他們的罪惡從這地上滅絕，免得他們征服我們，毀滅我們。
25 And moreover they did say: Let us take up arms against them, that we destroy them and their iniquity out of the land, lest they overrun us and destroy us.
26 但是看啊，我心愛的弟兄們，我們到曠野裡來，並不是要毀滅我們的弟兄，而是希望我們或許能拯救他們一些靈魂。
26 But behold, my beloved brethren, we came into the wilderness not with the intent to destroy our brethren, but with the intent that perhaps we might save some few of their souls.
27 當我們心情沮喪，打算回去時，看啊，主ａ安慰我們，並說：到你們的弟兄拉曼人那裡去，ｂ耐心忍受你們的ｃ痛苦，我必賜你們成功。
27 Now when our hearts were depressed, and we were about toaturn back, behold, the Lord bcomforted us, and said: Go amongst thy brethren, the Lamanites, and bear with cpatience thinedafflictions, and I will give unto you success.
28 現在看啊，我們來了，到了他們這裡，耐心忍受，備嘗艱辛；是的，我們依靠世人的憐憫，從一家到一家──不僅依靠世人的憐憫，更依靠神的憐憫。
28 And now behold, we have come, and been forth amongst them; and we have been patient in our sufferings, and we have suffered every privation; yea, we have traveled from house to house, relying upon the mercies of the world—not upon the mercies of the world alone but upon the mercies of God.
29 我們進到他們家裡並教他們，我們在街上教他們，是的，在山崗上教他們；我們也進到他們的聖殿和會堂裡並教他們；我們遭人驅逐、嘲弄、吐口水、摑打；我們遭人石砸，也遭人拘捕，以堅韌的繩索捆綁，關進監牢；由於神的大能與智慧才又把我們救出來。
29 And we have entered into their houses and taught them, and we have taught them in their streets; yea, and we have taught them upon their hills; and we have also entered into their temples and their asynagogues and taught them; and we have been cast out, and mocked, and spit upon, and smote upon our cheeks; and we have been bstoned, and taken and bound withcstrong cords, and cast into prison; and through the power and wisdom of God we have been delivered again.
30 我們受盡折磨，經歷這一切，希望或許能成為拯救某些靈魂的工具；我們當時認為，如果可以成為拯救某些靈魂的工具，我們的ａ快樂就會是十足的。
30 And we have suffered all manner of afflictions, and all this, that perhaps we might be the means of saving some soul; and we supposed that our ajoy would be full if perhaps we could be the means of saving some.
31 現在看啊，我們舉目可見我們辛勞的成果；那果子算少嗎？我告訴你們，不少，那果子ａ很多；是的，從他們對弟兄與對我們的愛，我們可以作證他們是真誠的。
31 Now behold, we can look forth and see the afruits of our labors; and are they few? I say unto you, Nay, they are bmany; yea, and we can witness of their sincerity, because of their love towards their brethren and also towards us.
32 看啊，他們寧可ａ犧牲自己的性命，也不願取敵人的性命；他們愛自己的弟兄，所以把作戰的武器都深ｂ埋在地下。
32 For behold, they had rather asacrifice their lives than even to take the life of their enemy; and they have bburied their weapons of war deep in the earth, because of their love towards their brethren.
33 現在看啊，我對你們說，在這塊土地上曾有過這麼偉大的愛嗎？看啊，我告訴你們，沒有，還沒有，就是尼腓人也還沒有。
33 And now behold I say unto you, has there been so great love in all the land? Behold, I say unto you, Nay, there has not, even among the Nephites.
34 因為看啊，他們會拿起武器攻擊他們的弟兄，而不會讓自己被殺。看啊，已有多少拉曼人犧牲了生命；然而我們知道，因為他們的愛心，因為他們憎恨罪惡，他們已到他們的神那裡去了。
34 For behold, they would take up arms against their brethren; they would not suffer themselves to be slain. But behold howamany of these have laid down their lives; and we know that they have gone to their God, because of their love and of their hatred to sin.
35 我們難道沒有理由高興嗎？我告訴你們，創世以來，沒有人像我們有這麼好的理由高興；是的，我快樂過度，以致於因神而誇口；因為祂有一切ａ力量、一切智慧、一切理解；祂ｂ無所不知，祂是ｃ慈悲之神，祂甚至拯救願意悔改並相信祂名的人。
35 Now have we not reason to rejoice? Yea, I say unto you, there never were men that had so great reason to rejoice as we, since the world began; yea, and my joy is carried away, even unto boasting in my God; for he has all apower, ball wisdom, and all understanding; he comprehendeth all things, and he is acmerciful Being, even unto salvation, to those who will repent and believe on his name.
36 就算這是誇口，我也要誇口；因為神是我的生命、我的光、我的喜樂、我的救恩、我永恆災禍的救贖。是的，我神的名是應當稱頌的，祂關心這民族；這民族原為以色列樹上的ａ一枝，從母樹上失落到異鄉；是的，我說，我神的名是應當稱頌的，祂關心我們這些異鄉的ｂ流浪者。
36 Now if this is aboasting, even so will I boast; for this is my life and my light, my joy and my salvation, and my redemption from everlasting wo. Yea, blessed is the name of my God, who has been mindful of this people, who are a bbranch of the tree of Israel, and has been clost from its body in a strange land; yea, I say, blessed be the name of my God, who has been mindful of us,dwanderers in a strange land.
37 弟兄們，我們知道神關心每一個ａ民族，無論他們在什麼地方；是的，祂點算祂的人民，祂慈悲的心腸遍及全世界。這是我的喜樂，我無限的感恩；是的，我要永遠感謝我的神。阿們。
37 Now my brethren, we see that God is amindful of everybpeople, whatsoever land they may be in; yea, he numbereth his people, and his bowels of mercy are over all the earth. Now this is my joy, and my great thanksgiving; yea, and I will give thanks unto my God forever. Amen.
